A nationwide survey on Phytoseiid mites in Greece revealed the occurrence of 19 species belonging to the Genus Amblyseius. A key and illustrations of all these species are given along with the synonyms, habitats and distribution data. A new species, A. makedonicus, found on Oryza saliva, is described.

Phytoseiid mites have been intensively surveyed in Taiwan during the past decades because of their potential as biological control agent. Despite the fact, many regions of Taiwan remain under-explored especially in mountain areas and neighboring islands. Typhlodromus (Anthoseius) crossostephium sp. nov. was collected from Crossostephium chinense (L.) Makino (Asteraceae) on rocky shore habitat during a survey on Lanyu Island. In this paper, presence of a phytoseiid mite on rocky shores is reported for the first time. A detailed morphological description of the new species and a key to the Taiwanese species of subgenus Anthoseius are provided.

Ogcodes Latreille is the largest genus of Acroceridae. They exhibit a cosmopolitan distribution and parasitize several spider families. Eleven Neotropical species are currently recognized in the genus, with five of them occurring in Chile, though distribution data is limited in this group of rarely collected flies. In this work, we describe a new species, Ogcodes kunkunche sp. nov. Barahona-Segovia from the evergreen forest of Chiloé Island, provide an identification key to the Chilean species of Ogcodes, and include novel distributional data for other species of spider flies (Acrocerinae and Ogcodinae). Based in our results, we suggest that O. kunkunche sp. nov. must be incorporated in the porteri group, due to wing vein reduction. Morphological aspects within Ogcodes, and their evolutionary implications are discussed.

Themus (Telephorops) davidis species-group is redefined and we present a catalogue, identification key and distribution map for this group. Some previously known species are redescribed and we provide new illustrations of female internal genitalia, abdominal sternite VIII and/or aedeagus. Further, we report new distribution data. A new species, Themus (Telephorops) hainanus sp. nov. from China (Hainan) is described, and Themus (Telephorops) birmanicus Wittmer, 1983 is recorded from China for the first time.

Even though a huge area of the country remains untouched, two tribes, eight genera and ninetyeight species of Passalidae are found in Brazil until now. Specialists described many taxa and gave both immature and adult taxonomic characteristics, showing bionomic aspects, which are shown in this paper. A checklist of Brazilian species is presented in this study with geographic distribution data. Veturius criniferous sp. nov. from Rond nia, Brazil is described and illustrated.

A new species, Stenomorpha roosevelti Smith, Miller, and Wheeler, n. sp., is described from the Cuatrociénegas Protected Area in Coahuila, Mexico. Three related species are transferred into Stenomorpha, producing the following new combi- nations: Stenomorpha furcata (Champion), Stenomorpha wickhami (Horn), and Stenomorpha granicollis (Blaisdell). A new informal group, the furcata species group, comprised of these four species is recognized within Stenomorpha. Diagnoses of the group and its species are provided, along with distribution data and a key to the species.

A new species of phytoseiid mites is described from Brazil, Typhlodromus moraesi sp. nov., collected on Tabebuia alba (Cham.) Sandwith and Chamaesyce hirta (L.) Millsp. in the State of São Paulo. This is the second species of the T. arizonicus group.

In this paper five new records for the Chinese flat bug fauna are reported: Aradus angularis Sahlberg 1886, Aradus betulae (Linnaeus 1758), Aradus distinctus Fieber 1860, Aradus tonkinensis Kormilev & Heiss 1976, and Aradus rysakovi Kiritshenko 1951. Aradus wuzhisanensis Liu 1981from Hainan Province is synonymised with Aradus candidatus Bergroth 1889, a species known from Myanmar, Thailand, and Laos. A new species, Aradus gaoligongensis n. sp. from Sichuan Province, belongs to the “transiens”-group and is described and figured. In addition, new distribution data are given for 8 Aradus species.

Phytoseiid mites have received considerable world wide attention because of their potential as natural enemies of phytophagous mites (McMurtry, 1984). The Amblyseius obtusus group Chant  is the largest species group in the genus Amblyseius. Chant & McMurtry (2004) divided the group into seven subgroups based on spermathecal morphology. The andersoni subgroup of Chant & McMurtry, 2004 is characterized by a spermatheca with the calyx dish-, cup-, bell-, or V-shaped, with the length/width ratio at the mid-point of the calyx < 3:1. A total of 24 species of the andersoni subgroup are known from the Neotropical region, 13 of these from Brazil (Moraes et al., 2004). A new species of this subgroup, Amblyseius paulofariensis sp. nov., is described and illustrated in this paper, from specimens collected in the semi-deciduous forest area of “Estação Ecológica de Paulo de Faria”, a protected natural area in the State of São Paulo, southeastern Brazil, on three species of Euphorbiaceae: Acalypha diversifolia Jacq., Actinostemon communis (Müll. Arg.) and Alchornea glandulosa Poepp. & Endl.. In the region where this mites was found, the climate is of the type Cwa-Aw of Köppen, with two distinct seasons: one wet, from October to March, and the other dry, from April to September. The annual mean temperature is 25°C, with a maximum mean of 30°C and a minimum mean of 20°C (Barcha & Arid, 1971; Arid & Barcha, 1973).
