This study contains the first realistic estimate for the CMS/LHC sensitivity to Flavour Changing Neutral Currents (FCNC) in the top quark sector. The non-Standard Model decays t→Zq and t→ γ q (where q = u, c) have been studied at √s = 14 TeV exploiting the leptonic decays of the Z⁰ boson and the photon. A realistic detector simulation has been used and the most important systematic effects have been addressed. The 5-sigma discovery limits for the two decays are BR(t→qZ)= 11.4 x 10⁻⁴ and BR(t→ γ q)= 5.7 x 10⁻⁴, allowing some models of new physics to be tested.

This presentation reviews the main results of our recent work [1] on rare radiative leptonic decays Bd,s → γμ+μ- and Bd,s → γe+e- induced by flavour-changing neutral currents (FCNC) in the Standard Model.

Rare B-decays induced by flavour-changing neutral currents (FCNC) is one of the promising candidates for probing physics beyond the Standard model. However, for identifying potential new physics from the data, reliable control over QCD contributions is necessary. We focus on one of such QCD contributions – the charming loops – that potentially can lead to difficulties in disentangling new physics effects from the observable and discuss the possibility to gain control over theoretical predictions for charming loops.

We study the effect of both Z and Z′ mediated flavor-changing neutral currents (FCNCs) on the Λb→Λℓ+ℓ-(ℓ = μ, τ) rare decay. We find the branching ratio is reasonably enhanced from its Standard Model value due to the effect of both Z and Z′ mediated FCNCs, and gives the possibility of new physics beyond the Standard Model. The contribution of Z′ boson depends upon the precise value of MZ′.

[Formula: see text] mixing offers a profound probe into the effects of new physics beyond the Standard Model. In this paper, [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] mass differences are considered taking the effect of both Z- and Z′-mediated flavor-changing neutral currents in the [Formula: see text] mixing (q = d, s). Our estimated mass of Z′ boson is accessible at the experiments LHC and B-factories in near future.

Abstract The $$ \mathcal{CP} $$ CP structure of the Higgs boson in its coupling to the particles of the Standard Model is amongst the most important Higgs boson properties which have not yet been constrained with high precision. In this study, all relevant inclusive and differential Higgs boson measurements from the ATLAS and CMS experiments are used to constrain the $$ \mathcal{CP} $$ CP -nature of the top-Yukawa interaction. The model dependence of the constraints is studied by successively allowing for new physics contributions to the couplings of the Higgs boson to massive vector bosons, to photons, and to gluons. In the most general case, we find that the current data still permits a significant $$ \mathcal{CP} $$ CP -odd component in the top-Yukawa coupling. Furthermore, we explore the prospects to further constrain the $$ \mathcal{CP} $$ CP properties of this coupling with future LHC data by determining tH production rates independently from possible accompanying variations of the $$ t\overline{t}H $$ t t ¯ H rate. This is achieved via a careful selection of discriminating observables. At the HL-LHC, we find that evidence for tH production at the Standard Model rate can be achieved in the Higgs to diphoton decay channel alone.

While the LHC has not directly observed any new particle so far, experimental results from LHCb, BELLE and BABAR point towards the violation of lepton flavour universality in b ⟶ sℓ+ and b ⟶ c-ℓν. In this context, also the discrepancy in the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon can be interpreted as a sign of lepton flavour universality violation. Here we discuss how these hints for new physics can also be explained by introducing leptoquarks as an extension of the Standard Model. Indeed, leptoquarks are good candidates to explain the anomaly in the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon because of an mg/mμ enhanced contribution giving correlated effects in Z boson decays which is particularly interesting in the light of future precision experiments.
