Neuropathic arthropathy, also known as Charcot arthropathy, refers to progressive and occasionally rapid joint destruction that results from underlying disorders of the nervous system. This pictorial essay aims to illustrate various radiologic findings in neuropathic arthropathy using various examples in the upper and lower limbs and in the spine. Pearls for radiologic diagnosis, clinical differential considerations and possible complications are discussed individually for each joint. MR imaging techniques for differentiating infection and neuropathic arthropathy are explained with examples. Management issues are outlined.

Abstract In the appropriate clinical setting, certain aspects of extranodal abdominal lymphoma, as revealed by current cross-sectional imaging techniques, should be considered potentially diagnostic and can hasten the diagnosis. In addition, diagnostic imaging in the context of biopsy-proven lymphoma can accurately stage the disease for its appropriate treatment. The purpose of this article was to illustrate the various imaging aspects of extranodal lymphoma in the abdomen.

<p><strong>Abstract.</strong> The Second Edition of the Atlas of Yellowstone will celebrate the 150-year history of the world’s first national park – and reflect on the future of Yellowstone and its evolving place in the world. Like the first Atlas of Yellowstone published in 2012, the Second Edition will provide a comprehensive view of the human and natural setting of Yellowstone National Park. Also like the First Edition, the new edition will portray variations over space and time, explore human-nature interactions throughout the region, document connections of Yellowstone to the rest of the world, and &amp;ndash; ultimately &amp;ndash; guide the reader to a deeper appreciation of Yellowstone.</p><p>Beyond that, the new edition will provide much expanded coverage of the park’s history. Readers will better understand the many different ways in which the creation of Yellowstone National Park has preserved and altered the landscapes and ecology of Yellowstone and conservation thought and practice, both locally and around the world.</p><p>The new atlas will also reflect advances in scientific data collection, knowledge, and insight gained since publication of the first edition. New topic pages will address key management issues ranging from increased visitor impact to wildlife disease to light pollution. In addition, many of the 850 existing graphics will be updated, reimagined, or replaced by new graphics that capture the remarkable wealth of data that has become available since the First Edition. Whether it be tracking of individual wolves, ecosystem imagery from space, or detailed visitor surveys &amp;ndash; new data provide insights that could not be graphically displayed before.</p><p>The Second Edition celebrates 150 years of America’s best idea and what that has meant to the world. The significance of Yellowstone National Park to conservation, scholarship, and the human experience is enormous, and deserves a volume that captures that importance.</p>

In this pandemic of Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), a vast proportion of healthcare resources, including imaging tools, have been dedicated to the management of affected patients; yet, the frequent reports of unknown presentations and complications of disease over time have been changing the usual standard of care and resource allocation in health centers. As of now, we have witnessed multisystemic symptoms requiring the collaboration of different clinical teams in COVID-19 patients' care. Compared to previous viral pandemics, imaging modalities are now playing an essential role in the diagnosis and management of patients. This widespread utility of imaging modalities calls for a deeper understanding of potential radiologic findings in this disease and identifying the most compatible imaging protocol with safety precautions. Although initially used for respiratory tract evaluation, imaging modalities have also been used for cardiovascular, neurologic, and gastrointestinal evaluation of patients with COVID-19. In this narrative review article, we provide multimodality and multisystemic review of imaging techniques and features that can aid in the diagnosis and management of COVID-19 patients.

Abstract Context.—Intraoperative evaluation of breast tissue has changed as newer imaging techniques and surgical approaches to the treatment of breast cancer have placed the pathologist in a pivotal role in the management of this disease. Assessment of the index lesion and surgical margins are but two of the many tasks we face when the specimen arrives in the surgical pathology laboratory. We are also called on to correlate changes in the mammogram with the gross pathology, particularly in those cases in which the lesion is nonpalpable. More recently, pathologists have been asked to analyze 1 or more sentinel lymph nodes at the time of frozen section to look for metastatic disease. This review discusses many of these issues and also provides a simplified approach to the differential diagnosis of a variety of breast lesions one may encounter intraoperatively. Objective.—To provide guidelines for and address potential pitfalls in the intraoperative management of the breast. Data Sources.—Author's experience and pertinent literature. Conclusions.—Careful assessment of the gross specimen coupled with prudent utilization of frozen sections is pivotal to reducing intraoperative error rates and preventing needless anxiety for the patient.

Abstract Charcot arthropathy is a progressive condition primarily affecting the lower limbs in patients with diabetes mellitus. It is a rare complication of diabetic neuropathy and if left untreated can lead to severe limb destruction necessitating major amputation. Here, we report the case of a 41-year-old female who presented with rapidly progressive Charcot foot over a 10-day period, necessitating open reduction and internal fixation of Lisfranc-type fracture dislocations. Her presentation with a rapidly progressing red, swollen foot with a blister on the plantar aspect prompted initial treatment on the basis of a diabetic foot infection. The report will therefore serve as a useful reminder to maintain a high index of suspicion for Charcot foot, which may present in an atypical manner.

AbstractThe proposed methodology is based on a (global and multi-criteria) simplified environmental but thorough assessment. In this stage we do not directly give the solution to designers. It will therefore translate the results of evaluation design axes, but in general, the lines proposed are inconsistent or contradictory. Therefore, what we find is a compromise given to the solution. The challenge we are facing in an industrial reality is that one should not go for a compromise solution. TRIZ (Teorija Reshenija Izobretateliskih Zadatch) or the theory of solving inventive problems, in the field, will be reformulated and go through the contradiction matrix and then intervene with the principles of interpretation resolutions to give possible solutions. To assist small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in their product development, the objective of this paper is to propose a methodological approach named Ecatriz, that will allow us to achieve our eco-innovative goal. The applicability of this method is justified by the many contradictions in the choices in a study of the life cycle. As a starting point, a qualitative multi-criteria matrix will allow the prioritization of all impacts on the environment. A customized implementation of the inventive TRIZ (Teorija Reshenija Izobretateliskih Zadatch, Russian acronym for theory of solving inventive problems) principles will help us choose eco-innovative solutions. To that end, we have created a new approach named Ecatriz (ecological approach TRIZ), based on a new contradiction matrix. It was tested in various contexts, such as the “24 h of Innovation” competition and eco-innovative patents.

AbstractNasopharyngeal carcinoma continues to be a difficult diagnostic problem in many patients. It is well known that amongst the many and varied manifestations of this disease, a unilateral middle ear effusion in an adult should be regarded with suspicion. Such a case in a 42-year-old patient is presented. In this case the benefit of Gadolinium enhanced magnetic resonance imaging over and above computerized tomography is demonstrated.

Charcot arthropathy is a chronic, degenerative condition and is associated with decreased sensorial innervation. Numerous causes of this arthropathy have been described. Here we report a case of neuropathic arthropathy secondary to syringomyelia which was misdiagnosed as a soft tissue tumor and treated surgically and additionally with radiotherapy at another institution. The patient had clinical and radiological signs of syringomyelia, associated with a limited range of motion, swelling, and pain in the affected joint. Neuropathic arthropathy, although less common, should be considered in cases of unexplained joint swelling, pain, and limited range of motion of the affected joint.

During the past decade, cardiac magnetic resonance has gained increasing popularity in the diagnosis of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy because of its greater accuracy and better characterization of cardiac morphology compared with other imaging modalities. In this pictorial essay, a global clinical portrait of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy will be drawn. The various radiologic findings associated with each variant of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, and the clinical edge offered by cardiac magnetic resonance will be discussed.
