Abstract This paper presents an analysis of a parallelogram mechanism commonly used to provide a kinematic remote center of motion in surgical telemanipulators. Selected types of parallel manipulator designs, encountered in commercial and laboratory-made designs described in the medical robotics literature, will serve as the research material. Among other things, computer simulations in the ANSYS 13.0 CAD/CAE software environment, employing the finite element method, will be used. The kinematics of the solution of manipulator with the parallelogram mechanism will be determined in order to provide a more complete description. These results will form the basis for the decision regarding the possibility of applying a parallelogram mechanism in an original prototype of a telemanipulator arm.

This paper aims to analyze the velocities and pressures that the wind exerts in three different configurations of photovoltaic systems installed on flat rooftops of buildings. The Finite Element Method is used to perform thirty computer simulations for different wind speeds and directions. From the obtained results analyzes of the maximum and minimum values of pressure and velocity on the surface of the structures and the building are performed. Thus, it is possible to identify the necessary precautions regarding materials and installation so that the structure is safe and does not result in accidents and material and economic damage.

The paper contains the results of a lengthy analysis of the operation of sewers renovated using the relining method. The author based the analysis on the effects obtained from computer simulations that were carried out using the Finite Element Method. The models used to proceed with the FEM simulations were verified by the results obtained from 1:1 laboratory research, conducted by the author over the period 2011-2013. The influence of a few strictly defined factors, related to the cooperation between the liner, injection grout and the construction of the original pipe, were taken into consideration. The report contains the description of FEM simulations and their assumptions, as well as a synthetic analysis of the results.
