A new fulvene-based ligand L was synthesized and its coordination chemistry with Ag(i) ion has been investigated. Two novel Ag(i) polymeric complexes, [Ag2L2∙5.5(C6H6)]SbF6 (1) and [AgL∙2.5(C6H6)]SbF6 (2), were obtained by combination of L with AgSbF6 in one-pot reaction. X-Ray single-crystal analysis revealed that both 1 and 2 crystallize in triclinic system P1. In 1 and 2, the ligand L adopts a trans-conformation to bind the Ag(i) centres into a one-dimensional twin-chain structure through either Ag–O coordination or π–π interactions.

Heterojunction system has been proved as one of the best architectures for photocatalyst owing to extending specific surface area, expanding spectral response range, and increasing photoinduced charges generation, separation, and transmission, which can provide better light absorption range and higher reaction site. In this paper, Indium Sulfide/Flexible Electrospun Carbon Nanofiber (In2S3/CNF) heterogeneous systems were synthesized by a facile one-pot hydrothermal method. The results from characterizations of SEM, TEM, XRD, Raman, and UV-visible diffuse reflectance spectroscopy displayed that flower-like In2S3 was deposited on the hair-like CNF template, forming a one-dimensional nanofibrous network heterojunction photocatalyst. And the newly prepared In2S3/CNF photocatalysts exhibit greatly enhanced photocatalytic activity compared to pure In2S3. In addition, the formation mechanism of the one-dimensional heterojunction In2S3/CNF photocatalyst is discussed and a promising approach to degrade Rhodamine B (RB) in the photocatalytic process is processed.

A novel infinite one-dimensional silver cylinder, namely poly[μ-ethylenediamine-μ5-(2-sulfanidylbenzoato)-μ4-(2-sulfanidylbenzoato)-tetrasilver(I)], [Ag4(C7H4O2S)2(C2H8N2)]n, has been synthesized by one-pot reaction of equivalent molar silver nitrate and 2-mercaptobenzoic acid (H2mba) in the presence of ethylenediamine (eda). One Ag atom is located in an AgS2NO four-coordinated tetrahedral geometry, two other Ag atoms are in an AgS2O three-coordinated T-shaped geometry and the fourth Ag atom is in an AgSNO coordination environment. The two mba ligands show two different binding modes. The μ2-N:N′-eda ligand, acting as a bridge, combines with mba ligands to extend the AgIions into a one-dimensional silver cylinder incorporating abundant Ag...Ag interactions ranging from 2.9298 (11) to 3.2165 (13) Å. Interchain N—H...O hydrogen bonds extend the one-dimensional cylinder into an undulating two-dimensional sheet, which is further packed into a three-dimensional supramolecular framework by van der Waals interactions; no π–π interactions were observed in the crystal structure.

By simultaneous occlusion of rationally chosen dyes, emitting in the blue, green and red region of the electromagnetic spectrum, into the one-dimensional channels of a magnesium-aluminophosphate with AEL-zeolitic type structure, MgAPO-11, a solid-state system with efficient white light emission under UV excitation, was achieved. The dyes herein selected—acridine (AC), pyronin Y (PY), and hemicyanine LDS722—ensure overall a good match between their molecular sizes and the MgAPO-11 channel dimensions. The occlusion was carried out via the crystallization inclusion method, in a suitable proportion of the three dyes to render efficient white fluorescence systems by means of fine-tuned FRET (fluorescence resonance energy transfer) energy transfer processes. The FRET processes are thoroughly examined by the analysis of fluorescence decay traces using the femtosecond fluorescence up-conversion technique.
