Primary hyperparathyroidism (PHPT) in pregnant women is an uncommon disease. It could be easily misdiagnosed because of physiologic changes during pregnancy; in some cases, patients could remain asymptomatic maintaining elevated calcium serum levels, and this situation represents a threat to the health of both mother and fetus. We present two cases of PHPT during pregnancy and their evolution after surgical treatment in the second trimester; there were no observed complications during pregnancy or delivery in our patients. Early diagnosis and medical/surgical treatment in PHPT are necessary for avoiding maternal and fetal complications which could not be predicted based on duration or severity of hypercalcemia. An appropriate management of PHPT during pregnancy is necessary for preserving the health of both the woman and the fetus.

Primary hyperparathyroidism is a result of increased and uncontrolled function of the parathyroid hormone caused by hyperfunction of one or more parathyroid glands. The cause of hyperfunction of the parathyroid glands could be adenoma, hyperplasia, and carcinoma. Primary Hyper parathyroidism is the most common cause of Hypercalcemia in outpatient population. The paper presents the case report of a 60years old female treated in our Hospital in March 2013. She presented in outpatient department with complaints of joints pain, Hypertension and renal failure for last 8years. After clinical, laboratory and radiological examination she was diagnosed as a case of PHPT due to a Giant Parathyroid Adenoma. After supportive, symptomatic and surgical treatment, the patient was back to normal daily activities without any signs of disease.

Cavernous hemangiomas are benign tumours of mesodermal origin. Even though various localizations of hemangioma have been described in the literature, its occurrence in the greater omentum is very rare. Only symptomatic hemangiomas are indicated for surgical treatment. There are case reports presenting resection or surgical removal of the greater omentum with hemangioma because of mechanical syndrome, consumption coagulopathy, bleeding, infection or suspicion of a malignancy. This article presents a case report of a patient operated on for a suspicion of carcinomatosis of the greater omentum. Histological examination found hemangiomatosis in the resected greater omentum.
