Pornography is a debatable subject, both in Malaysia and around the world. Some feel it is harmless while others feel it is damaging. Pornography can bring about its own impact to the viewers. In Malaysia, the trend of viewing pornography among youngsters’ has been increasing. Studies have also shown Pornography can lead to unhealthy behaviors as a result of too much viewing. This study was conducted to discover the addiction level and the consumption effects on students at a Malaysian University. The researchers used purposive sampling to distribute questionnaires. The Scale used was the Internet Pornography Addiction Test and the Pornography Consumption Effects Scale consist of Positive and Negative dimension used to conduct the research. The research population (N=120) was students’ from University Tunku Abdul Rahman of Malaysia. There were significant relationship between the addiction and consumption. There were significant differences between the Positive and Negative Dimension as well. The Negative Effect Dimension is higher than the Positive Effect Dimension. There were significant differences between male and female students towards pornography addiction. However, there were not any significant differences among the genders in internet consumption. Male scored higher than female in the Internet Pornography Addiction. There were no significant differences between gender in the Positive and Negative Dimension.

BackgroundInternet use has affected the pattern of working style at the workplace. Recent years have seen an increased use of online activities (especially pornography/gaming) at the workplace. It has been shown to affect productivity at the workplace. There is a dearth of literature from the Indian context in this area.AimThis study was conducted to explore the pattern of pornography use& gaming at the workplace and its dysfunctions. Setting and design: The present study was a cross-sectional prospective studyMaterials and methodsThe objective of the study was to assess the pattern of pornography use at the workplace. Five hundred employees having experience of Internet use for more than a year of various government/private sector organizations in Bengaluru were assessed using background data sheet, DSM V criteria, Internet addiction test & pornography addiction screening instrument. Users who were unwilling to participate were excluded from the study.ResultsSeven to nine percent reported preference for Internet to work, meals, personal hygiene, sleep, and interaction with family members and effects on productivity. Three to four percent have excessive use of pornography & game.ConclusionsThe present study has implications for evolving psychoeducational modules for the promotion of healthy use of technology.Disclosure of interestThe author has not supplied his/her declaration of competing interest.

Pornography causes damage to the five parts of the brain, especially in the pre frontal cortex (the right part of the brain behind the forehead of logic brain). Consequently the part of the brain responsible for logic will be deformed due to unfiltered hyper stimulation (the brain only seeks pleasure without consequence). In addition, the most worrying impact is a decrease in academic achievement and learning ability, as well as a reduced decision-making ability. Furthermore, an increasing number of active sexually active adolescents will also increase the case of unwanted pregnancies, and abortion actions that are often regarded as a solution to the problem. Through community development activities are expected to be able to contribute in the form of data and information related to the level of pornography addiction that is rife among teenagers. From the understanding that is formed, it is hoped that it can become a material consideration for policy making related to the prevention and handling of pornography among teenagers in Indonesia.

Introduction: Pornography is the term given for non-relational sex without any requirements for relational intimacy. It has appeared in all cultures and civilizations over centuries. Research into the area of addictive sexual behaviors on the Internet incorporates the various constructs surrounding compulsive sexual behavior. Pornography and society: Excess viewing of pornography has been said to be associated with psychiatric comorbidities such as anxiety and depression, and even sexual dysfunction. Individuals with pornography addiction have lower degrees of social integration, increase in conduct problems, higher levels of delinquent behavior, higher incidence of depressive symptoms, and decreased emotional bonding with caregivers. Pornography is an expression of fantasies and is said to have the potential to rewire pleasure centers of the brain and alter structures and function. Conclusion: Pornography can bring about significant changes in the brain similar to what can be seen in drug addictions. Owing to the boom of technology and easy access to such material, it is imperative to provide specifically designed pornography addiction education programs to educate students about the adverse effects of pornography.

Various terms such as sexual addiction and hypersexuality have been used to describe a problematic and destructive pattern of excessive sexual behavior that persists despite negative consequences. Proposed diagnostic criteria are presented and several typologies are described in terms of their clinical presentation and associated consequences. Pornography addiction is discussed in terms of its typical course and observed impact on sexual arousal, sexual functioning, and the romantic partnership. Interpersonal neurobiology is used to conceptualize sex addiction from the three interacting theoretical perspectives of dysfunctional neural reward circuitry, maladaptive affect regulation, and disordered intimacy (or insecure attachment). A set of standard multimodal, multidisciplinary treatment recommendations are presented in the context of the three dimensions of interpersonal neurobiology that draw upon interventions that can be integrated into a unique, client-specific treatment plan. Complimentary, alternative, and integrative methodologies are explored to form a more comprehensive approach to treatment.
