Abstract Summary Experimental laboratory management and data-driven science require centralized software for sharing information, such as lab collections or genomic sequencing datasets. Although database servers such as PostgreSQL can store such information with multiple-user access, they lack user-friendly graphical and programmatic interfaces for easy data access and inputting. We developed LabxDB, a versatile open-source solution for organizing and sharing structured data. We provide several out-of-the-box databases for deployment in the cloud including simple mutant or plasmid collections and purchase-tracking databases. We also developed a high-throughput sequencing (HTS) database, LabxDB seq, dedicated to storage of hierarchical sample annotations. Scientists can import their own or publicly available HTS data into LabxDB seq to manage them from production to publication. Using LabxDB’s programmatic access (REST API), annotations can be easily integrated into bioinformatics pipelines. LabxDB is modular, offering a flexible framework that scientists can leverage to build new database interfaces adapted to their needs. Availability and implementation LabxDB is available at https://gitlab.com/vejnar/labxdb and https://labxdb.vejnar.org for documentation. LabxDB is licensed under the terms of the Mozilla Public License 2.0. Supplementary information Supplementary data are available at Bioinformatics online.

This paper introduces an Optical Code Division multiplexing (OCDMA) system using two code keying encryptions. In this paper proposed OCDMA system is designed using Semiconductor optical amplifiers (SOAs) which has nonlinear character and can implementor different logic functions. SOA based 2 × 1 Codeword Multiplexer (CMUX) is designed to multiplex the user data and a 1 × 2 Codeword DE Multiplexer (CDEMUX) to demodulate the user data. Then a multiple user access is provided using WDM system to design the whole OCDMA system. Transmission distance of 70 km is achieved with acceptable bit error rate and Q factor. Open eye diagram is also verified at the receiving end.

The paper describes an adaptive algorithm for power and bit allocations in a multiple user Multiple Input Multiple Output Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (MIMO OFDM) system with Space Division Multiple Access, which operates in a frequency selective fading channel. The zero forcing (ZF) technique is applied to accomplish multi user detection (MUD). A Lagrange multiplier method is applied to obtain a one-step solution for optimal power and bit allocations in this system. The resulting algorithm is advantageous over an alternative Greedy algorithm, because it does not require a time-consuming iterative procedure for its implementation. The algorithm assigns bits and power for all users according to the channel state information (CSI), which is assumed to be fully or partially available to the transmitter. The simulation results show the proposed algorithm operates successfully in multiple user access scenarios.

Abstract The purpose of this tool, Rapid Web Application Generator (RWAG), is to allow a user to create a database-driven web application without the knowledge of DBMS and server-side programming. RWAG automatically generates database definitions and ASP pages for manipulating the data. The advantages of using RWAG are as follows: first, a user can create web applications in minutes without ever having to write any code (no need to know ASP, Perl, or Java); secondly, an advanced user can leverage his knowledge of ASP, Perl, Java, JavaScript, HTML, XML and DBMS to expand and customize the web application; thirdly, RWAG allows a user to own a record in the database, which means a record can only be edited by the user who creates it; finally, RWAG provides multiple user access levels. RWAG is ideal for a group of users to share information on the web.

AbstractIn this work, OFDM (orthogonal frequency division multiplexing) is analyzed for different transmission schemes on the basis of BER (Bit Error Rate), transmitting-receiving signal, constellation diagram and the best transmitting scheme is determined for OFDM. OFDM is analogous to Frequency Division Multiple Access (FDMA) in which the multiple user access is achieved by sub-dividing the existing spectrum into various channels, which are then allocated to users. In this paper Mat-lab simulation OFDM is used to see, how the Bit Error Ratio (BER) of a transmission varies when signal to Noise Ratio (S/N) and Multi-Propagation effect are altered to transmit a computer file in binary data from modulated by 16-QAM and QPSK modulation, finally at the end of the transmission, when the receiver receives the data, a comparison of the transmitted and the received messages is done in order to calculate the Bit Error Ratio (BER).
