According to the grey theory, in order to predict and prevent accident effectively, the paper built a grey model and forecast the mine accidents in china in 2013 based on the statistics of mine accidents happened in China during period from 2007 to 2012. MATLAB was used to write procedure code of GM (1, 1) and empirical verification follows. The prediction results show that if high accuracy goes with the precision of the calculable model, which could be used to provide the basis for decision making to the safety production management practices in China. This case study indicates that GM (1, 1) plays an important role in mine safety management.

Emergency response and disaster management in underground mines are very challenging due to the hostile nature. Environment monitoring in mines has been an obligatory requirement to ensure safe working conditions for miners. Reliable communication network is essential to quickly detect the underground condition especially in emergency situation and to conduct proper rescue operations. This chapter presents an overview of reliable communication network needed for emergency response and disaster management in underground mines. The chapter begins by introducing the most common accidents occurring in the mining, underground mine environment and channel properties. Subsequently, communications in underground mines, existing underground communication and tracking systems, and disaster forecasting & mine safety management are discussed. The chapter also covers post-disaster mine communications & tracking systems and optimized backbone networks for underground mines. Finally, the chapter concludes by reporting relevant research at Ryerson Communications Lab and pointing out some open issues and possible research directions.

In order to understand the characteristics and law of development of coal research in the field of safety management, the papers published data from 1993--2013 based on Web of Science database and the Java platform development CitespaceIII visualization software for scientific knowledge map drawing is used. Through the knowledge map visualization analysis, it shows the origin of the research of international coal safety management and foundation of knowledge, and its basic and frontier disciplines. The results show that: through the visual keywords co-occurrence knowledge mapping analysis, high frequency keywords and high degree of heart keyword ranked in the top 10. It also shows the hot spot area and the development trend in the research field of coal safety management; from the literature co-citation results, classical literature and knowledge of basic research on coal safety management field, it plays an important role in the development process of the research in the field of visualization; through the journal co-citation analysis of knowledge map, it gets higher yield and literature journal, such as SAFETY SCI, COAL SCI TECHNOLOGY, CHINA COAL and the like, which shows that in the study of coal safety management field quantity of periodicals, China is the first, which explains China's leading position in the field of safety management of coal.

Man and machine Positioning System of Underground Coal Mines in the Iron Mine Exploitation of Loufan Ludi Mining Limited Company is based on the ZigBee Wireless Communication Technology. It realizes the effective management of the precise positioning of Man-machine and the workers. This article describes the composition of the system, the performance and management of content and network formation. The application practice shows that the underground man-machine positioning system based on ZigBee technology has played an important role in the underground personnel information management and security hedge. Such system could better meet the needs of the mine safety management and there is great prospect of application of it.

Coal mine safety accidents lead to national casualties and economic losses, to the greatest extent reduce accidents, it is a worldwide problem. In addition to strengthen safety management, security monitoring, there is a better way is to enhance the mine industrial automation process. The use of intelligent industrial robots in the mine, it will improve the efficiency of coal at the same time, and greatly reduce the risk of injury or even can effectively avoid accidents. This paper is to study one intelligent industrial robot which can use in the mine, and it use state-of-the-art motor control technology, and can operate it to high-risk job in the control room. In this paper, a detailed study of the specific structure of the industrial robots, and designed a complete set of control scheme.
