In view of eventual future investments in the field of space simulation facilities, the paper presents a parametric model, which provides ROM (Rough Order Magnitude) cost estimates for solar simulation facilities, with a beam diameter of up to 6m (19.7 ft). The model is based on cost figures of existing European test facilities and shows cost to be proportional to beam size.
