AbstractThis study has been inspired by golf ball movements during the game to improve particle swarm optimization. Because, all movements from the first to the last move of the golf ball are the moves made by the player to win the game. Winning this game is also a result of successful implementation of the desired moves. Therefore, the movements of the golf ball are also an optimization, and this has a meaning in the scientific world. In this sense, the movements of the particles in the PSO algorithm have been associated with the movements of the golf ball in the game. Thus, the velocities of the particles have converted to parabolically descending structure as they approach the target. Based on this feature, this meta-heuristic technique is called RDV (random descending velocity) IW PSO. In this way, the result obtained is improved thousands of times with very small movements. For the application of the proposed new technique, the inverse kinematics calculation of the 7-joint robot arm has been performed and the obtained results have been compared with the traditional PSO, some IW techniques, artificial bee colony, firefly algorithm and quantum PSO.

A complete understanding of the occurrence of microplastics and the methods to eliminate their sources is an urgent necessity to minimize the pollution caused by microplastics. The use of plastics in any form releases microplastics to the environment. Existing policy instruments are insufficient to address microplastics pollution and regulatory measures have focussed only on the microbeads and single-use plastics. Fees on the use of plastic products may possibly reduce their usage, but effective management of plastic products at their end-of-life is lacking. Therefore, in this study, the microplastic–failure mode and effect analysis (MP–FMEA) methodology, which is a semi-qualitative approach capable of identifying the causes and proposing solutions for the issue of microplastics pollution, has been proposed. The innovative feature of MP–FMEA is that it has a pre-defined failure mode, that is, the release of microplastics to air, water and soil (depending on the process) or the occurrence of microplastics in the final product. Moreover, a theoretical recycling plant case study was used to demonstrate the advantages and disadvantages of this method. The results revealed that MP–FMEA is an easy and heuristic technique to understand the failure-effect-causes and solutions for reduction of microplastics and can be applied by researchers working in different domains apart from those relating to microplastics. Future studies can include the evaluation of the use of MP–FMEA methodology along with quantitative methods for effective reduction in the release of microplastics.

Shikaku is a logic puzzle published by Nikoli at 2005. Shikaku has a very simple rule. This puzzle is played on a rectangular grid. Some of the squares in the grid are numbered. The main objective is to create partitions inside the grid. Each partition must have exactly one number, and the number represents the area of the partition. Then the partition’s shape must be a rectangular or a square. The aim of this research is discussing how can computer software be able to solve the Shikaku problem by implementing heuristic technique and genetics algorithms. Initially the Shikaku problem is inputted into the system. Firstly, the software will solve the problem by applying heuristics methods with some logic rules. All logic rules are created and implemented into the software so that the software can minimize the partitions possibilities to the problem. If this heuristics method still can not solve the problem then genetic algorithms will be executed to find the solution. This paper elaborates from how the problem be modelled and also be implemented until software testing to ensure that the solver worked as expected. The implementation consists of a virtual puzzle board with three different size, genetic algorithms parameters, and ability to create, save, load, and solve puzzle. Software testing is conducted to find how fast the system can solve the problem.

This research entitled "Religious Pluralism According to Nurcholish Madjid in Indonesian Context '. Based on the phenomenon that occurred in the field many Muslims who more emphasize the symbol of religion than the application in menjlankan religion so that underlie thinking Nurcholis Madjid in overcoming msalah.dilakukan three stages of work that is Inventory, Evaluation, and Synthesis. The writings that have been obtained will be reviewed, an analysis of the thoughts of Nurcholish Madjid. The research approach is historical approach, while in historical research using heuristic technique, verification, intervention, and historicistography. The results of this study can be summarized as follows, First, the basis of religious pluralism is that the universal religion of Islam encompasses all aspects of life, Pancasila is the foundation of the state of Indonesia so that we must do tolerance and compete in the good. Secondly, that the implications of religious pluralism recognize religious freedom, live with the risks that will be borne by each believer. The will of God is above the will of man in setting anything. Thirdly, the principle of religious pluralism is the open, dialogical, tolerant and upholding of human values which at the same time embodies a peaceful and open Islam.

AbstractMangupa is the final stage of Angkola-Mandailing cultural wedding ceremony. The texts ofMangupa are chosen to be explored in this research because the texts are tied with the cultureand contain a lot of cultural expressions. In addition, Mangupa is not only delivered in theform of prose, but also rhythmic poetry. This research is intended to study the poetry within theprocess of Mangupa through semiotics structuralism analysis. Semiotics is the study of sign. Thepurpose of this semiotics structuralism research is to examine literature work as system of sign.Moreover, the sign implies the aesthetic communication devices. The research was conductedby heuristic and hermeneutic reading analysis techniques. Heuristic technique is a reading whichbases on linguistic structuralism or semiotically means bases on convention system of the firstlevel of semiotics. Meanwhile, hermeneutic is a reiterated reading or one that bases on the secondlevel of semiotics. The findings shows that icon consists of 19 words and expressions, index has8 words and expressions, while symbol has 7 expressions and sentences referred to the texts ofMangupa. AbstrakMangupa merupakan upacara terakhir dalam pernikahan Angkola Mandailing. Teks mangupadipilih sebagai teks yang dikupas dalam kajian ini karena teks ini terikat dengan budaya danmemiliki banyak ungkapan budaya. Selain itu, Mangupa bukan hanya disampaikan dalamteks prosa, tetapi juga teks puisi yang berirama. Penelitian ini akan mengkaji pantun dalamprosesi mangupa melalui analisis strukturalisme semiotik. Semiotik adalah kajian tanda. Kajianstruktural semiotik bertujuan akan mengungkap karya sastra sebagai sistem tanda. Tanda tersebutmerupakan sarana komunikasi yang bersifat estetis. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik analisispembacaan heuristik dan hermeneutik. Pembacaan heuristik adalah pembacaan berdasarkanstruktur kebahasaan atau secara semiotik adalah berdasarkan konvensi sistem semiotik tingkatpertama dan pembacaan hermeneutik adalah pembacaan yang dilakukan secara berulang-ulang(retroaktif) atau berdasarkan sistem semiotik tingkat kedua. Temuan penelitian ini menunjukkanbahwa ikon terdapat sembilan belas kata dan ungkapan, indeks sebanyak delapan kata danungkapan, sedangkan simbol terdapat sebanyak tujuh ungkapan dan kalimat yang mengacu padateks ini.Kata kunci: strukturalisme semiotik, teks Mangupa, upacara adat pernikahan, Angkola-Mandailing

Ant Colony optimization is a heuristic technique which has been applied to a number of combinatorial optimization problem and is based on the foraging behavior of the ants. Travelling Salesperson problem is a combinatorial optimization problem which requires that each city should be visited once. In this research paper we use the K means clustering technique and Enhanced Ant Colony Optimization algorithm to solve the TSP problem. We show a comparison of the traditional approach with the proposed approach. The simulated results show that the proposed algorithm is better compared to the traditional approach.

Cloud Computing is one of the important fields in the current time of technological era. Here, the resources are available virtually for users according to pay-per-usage. Many industries are providing cloud services nowadays as pay for usage which reduces the computing cost drastically. The updated software services, hardware services can be provided to the user at a minimum cost. The target of the industries and scientists is to reduce the computing cost by various technologies. Resource management or task scheduling may also play a positive role in this regard. There are various virtual machine management algorithms available that can be tested and enhanced for research and benefit of the society. In this paper, three famous Max-Min, Ant Colony Optimization, and Particle Swarm Optimization algorithms have been used for experiments. After simulation results, it is found that the PSO algorithm is performing well for makes pan and cost factors. Further, a new algorithm can be proposed or a meta-heuristic technique can be enhanced or modified for getting better results.
