In an era in which rising costs, shrinking budgets, and personnel shortages are common, it is increasingly important to provide a positive work situation to ensure worker stability. Research indicates that job burnout is a negative response that is harmful to the employee and to the organization. Depersonalization, emotional exhaustion, and feeling a lack of accomplishment at work are all dimensions of job burnout. This study examined the association of job involvement, job stress, job satisfaction, and organizational commitment with burnout among correctional staff. The findings highlight the significance of these variables in relation to burnout. Specifically, job satisfaction had an inverse relationship with emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and a sense of reduced accomplishment at work, whereas job stress had a significant positive relationship with depersonalization and emotional exhaustion. Job involvement also had a positive association with emotional exhaustion, whereas commitment to the organization had no relationship with any of the three dimensions of burnout.

The purpose in this study was to determine the levels of employees' job stress and job satisfaction in urban health centers in Hamadan, Iran, and the relationship of these levels to the organizational performance. Employees' stress levels were assessed using the Eliot Stress Questionnaire (Eliot, 1994), and job satisfaction levels were measured using the Robbins Job Satisfaction Questionnaire (Robbins, 1991). The performance of the centers was evaluated by using a series of outcome indicators. On average, the employees in all of the health centers reported a moderate level of stress. A positive correlation was found between performance and the midlevel of employees' stress was found (r = 0.69, α < 0.05).

In recent times, increasing interest has been shown by OB and HR practitioners in the area of organizational commitment (OC). This interest stems from the fact that the committed workforce is considered beneficial for organizational functioning and effectiveness. The present study was conducted to explore the direct relationship of job satisfaction and locus of control (LOC) on organizational commitment. The purpose of the study was also to see if locus of control moderates the relationship between job satisfaction and organizational commitment. The study was conducted using structured questionnaires for measuring the above mentioned variables. The sample of the study was 449 Indian IT professionals. Hierarchical multiple regression showed that job satisfaction and internal locus of control was positively related to organizational commitment. Also, locus of control was found to moderate the relationship between job satisfaction and organizational commitment such that the relationship was stronger for internals than for externals. The present study has important implications for human resource development in the IT sector. Managers should use strategies to achieve high job satisfaction and organizational commitment. They must be aware of the moderating role which different personality attributes play in the relationship between job satisfaction and organizational commitment.

This study aims to determine the effect of work stress, job satisfaction and work environment on keluarga sehat clinic wedoro sidoarjo. This type of research is quantitative, where researchers distribute questionnaires as a medium for data collection and then processed into interval data which is then processed using SPSS18. The population and sample of this study are 36 employees of keluarga sehat clinic wedoro sidoarjo. Hypothesis test results partially work stress partially negative and significant effect on organizational commitment, job satisfaction partially has a positive and significant effect on organizational commitment, and work environment partially does not significantly influence organizational commitment. And the results of the simultaneous hypothesis test was calculated to be 11.570 and included to be greater than Ftable = 2.92. This means that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted and the significant value is 0,000 less than 0.05. So job stress, job satisfaction and work environment simultaneously have a significant effect on organizational commitment. While the determination test obtained by the coefficient R Square 0.5202 means that the relationship between job stress, job satisfaction and work environment on organizational commitment has an effect of 52.0%, while the remaining 48.0% is explained by other variables not included in the modeling.

PurposeIt is well known that job stress is major cause of salesperson job dissatisfaction and turnover. Salespeople require the resources to cope adequately with a multitude of job stressors, and the purpose of this study is to demonstrate that salesperson wellness promotes the ability of salespeople to use effective coping strategies in the workplace and as a result decrease their intentions of leaving the firm.Design/methodology/approachData including measures of coping strategies and a wellness lifestyle orientation were collected from a sample of 441 full-time professional salespeople in two metropolitan statistical areas of the USA. Structural equation modeling was used to demonstrate the relationship of a wellness lifestyle to coping strategies and in turn the relationship of coping strategies to job satisfaction and turnover intentions.FindingsThe study demonstrated the influence of the wellness lifestyle on salespeople’s ability to cope effectively with job stress. It extends previous research by demonstrating the direct influence of salesperson wellness on coping behaviors and demonstrates the nomological validity of the wellness lifestyle construct by modeling its relationship with job satisfaction and the intent to leave the organization.Research limitations/implicationsThe study recommends new research on the synergies that might be produced by simultaneous consideration of the social, physical, and psychological elements of the multicomponent wellness lifestyle. This should be particularly valuable in the context of the Challenger Sale.Practical implicationsWellness programs may be introduced or improved following an assessment of coping resource weaknesses of the sales force. New employees could be screened by examining their wellness profiles.Originality/valueMajor firms have promoted wellness lifestyle programs for years, but no studies have examined the influence of such programs on coping with job stress by salespeople. The paper demonstrates the value of the salesperson wellness lifestyle by showing that it promotes the most adjustive form of coping strategy, problem-focused coping.
