Dr. Lee Salk, Director of the Division of Psychology, Department of Pediatrics, at the New York Hospital—Cornell Medical Center, and Mrs. Rita Kramer, a well-known editor and writer on child development for magazines and educational television, have done an excellent job of describing the needs of a human being for optimal development from birth (and even before birth) to maturity. They discuss how a child develops emotional stability, how he learns to accept limits, and develops warm relations with other people.
