Presented studies are aimed at developing of new and improving of existing methods of vibration signal analysis to detect local gears damages during their operating.The new method of calculating the modulation coefficient showed low sensitivity to the place of mounting of the vibration sensor and makes it possible to use in the absence of information about the vibration activity of the gear drive in the previous workable condition.A technique for designing and using unique wavelets was developed. The technique reflects the specifics of real processes in the interaction of meshing teeth and adapted for gears vibration analysis. Using of unique wavelets can noticeably increase the wavelet coefficients sensitivity to changes in gears condition.

The vibration measurement location is the basis for effective monitoring of aeroengine vibration conditions. Measurement locations need to reflect the vibration of the rotor sufficiently, while complex structures of the aeroengine bring many excitation sources. This paper presents an evaluation methodology for vibration measurement on casing in the aeroengine. A number of indexes are defined to quantify and characterize the vibration measurement ability of main measurement locations on casing for rotor vibration. A dynamic model of a dual-rotor-casing system is established according to the support structure of a certain type of aeroengine. By means of the introduced evaluation method, the vibration relation between rotors and the main vibration measurement sections is analyzed. Response characteristics and performance orders of measurement sections are given. The rationality of theoretical results is sound verified by experiments on a designed pneumatic-driven double-rotor-casing test bench. The best measured vibration section is consistent with the actual on-board vibration section of the engine, which further demonstrates the effectiveness of the evaluation method. The research results can provide a basis for the selection and optimization of vibration measurement locations and fault diagnosis in the aeroengine. Furthermore, the application of this method is not limited to aeroengine vibration analysis and sensor measurement location optimization, but will be useful for vibration analysis of other rotating machinery.

The process of monitoring and diagnosis of planetary gearboxes is currently one of the most significant topics for vibroanalysis. The reason for ubiquitous research activities on the topic arises form a shortage of efficient method for a non-destructive thorough vibration analysis of planetary gearboxes, especially working under low speeds. On the other hand, the number of high-value planetary gearboxes working in industry rises rapidly, mainly due to expansion of wind farms. In the paper, the authors present a novel method for the assessment of the technical state of planetary gearboxes with a vibration sensor mounted on the casing, and without a planets position sensor. The method is based on the calculation of cyclic energy of gearbox teeth contact within consecutive carrier revolutions. The methods performance is illustrated on a real data from a wind turbine.

The concentration error of standard gas in different locations of calibration system will have different degrees of impact on accuracy of calibration results. Among them, concentration of standard gas in gas mantle that combine detection sensors and gas transmission pipelines show the greatest impact on calibration results. In order to realize monitoring and analysis of the overall calibration process, this paper simulated gas concentration change status during calibration process of indoor environmental monitor gas mantle by FLUENT software. Gas concentration change status and sensor measurement accuracy at situations of different size sensors placed in the same gas mantle at the same location and same sensor placed in the same gas mantle at different location were analysed. Simulation results show that to make gas most quickly and evenly filled gas mantle, gas mantle size should be slightly larger than sensor and sensor should be placed in the top of the mantle as far as possible. On this condition, it can ensure gas concentrations error range between sensor workface and the inlet are within ±2%, thereby ensuring the accuracy of calibration results.

Eddy current sensor is widely used in engineering applications.When it was calibrated, generally used random error analysis method,but this will expand the range of measurement errors and limit its engineering applications.In this paper, we use a new error analysis method to analyze upper and lower limit of multiple batches measurement data. At the same time, catching up with a criterion for the measurement time. This can obtain the measurement accuracy more precise and have good practical value.

In electric power stations, precision surface roughness measurements are performed for environmental loading reduction, quality assurance, and safety. These measurements are performed manually at high places, narrow places, uncomfortable environments, etc. Therefore, workers in power stations experience a lot of hardship and are exposed to danger. To solve these issues, this study researched and developed a crawler-type robot with high measurement accuracy. Conventionally, robots that supply workpieces for surface roughness instruments have been developed. However, to the best of our knowledge, robotization and self-propelled precision measurement instruments have not been developed. Usually, a precision measurement instrument is designed for increased stiffness and stability because high measurement accuracy is the highest priority. However, if the stiffness and stability of the robot are as high as those of the precision measurement instrument, a problem occurs in the robot operation. Therefore, we propose a precision measurement unit using electromagnets and a crawler-type self-propelled robot to equip the unit. In a previous study, vibration analysis experiments using the impulse response method were performed on a precision measuring robot. In this study, the relationships between the voltages applied to the electromagnet and the reductions in the vibration magnitudes were determined by analyzing the vibrations of the robot during measurement. Furthermore, an optimal voltage of the electromagnets of the precision measuring robot to reduce vibrations was determined. From the results of the vibration analysis, the authors demonstrated that the optimal voltages were 9 and 12 V, and the precision measurement unit confirmed the effectiveness and validity of vibration reduction and improved measurement accuracy.
