Testing of students and computer systems to store, manage, analyze, and report the resulting test data have grown hand-in-hand. Extant research on teacher use of electronically stored data are largely qualitative and focused on the conditions necessary (but not sufficient) for effective teacher data use. Absent from the research is objective information on how much and in what ways teachers use computer-based student test data, even when supposed precursors of usage are in place. This paper addresses this knowledge gap by analyzing the online activities of teachers in one mid-size urban district. Utilizing Web logs collected between 2008 and 2010, I find low teacher interaction with Web-based pages that contain student test information that could potentially inform practice. I also find no evidence that teacher usage of Web-based student data are related to student achievement gains, but there is reason to believe these estimates are downwardly biased.

<p class="3">Khan Academy is a large and popular open educational resource (OER) with little empirical study into its impact on student achievement in mathematics when used in schools. In this study, we examined the use of Khan Academy as a mathematics intervention among seventh grade students over a 4-week period versus a control group. We also compared differences between students who had supplemental mathematics instruction and those who had not. In both cases, we found no statistically significant differences in student test scores. Khan Academy has several internal metrics used to track student performance and use. We found significant relationships between these metrics and student test scores in this study. Khan Academy and other OER provide access to information and knowledge to large numbers of the population. This research adds to the discourse methods by which Khan Academy and other OER may affect learners.</p>

ABSTRACT Web-based homework (WBH) is an increasingly important phenomenon. There is little research about its character, the nature of its impact on student performance, and how that impact evolves over an academic term. The primary research questions addressed in this study are: What relevant factors in a WBH learning environment impact students' performance? And how does the impact of these factors change over the course of an academic term? This paper examines and identifies significant factors in a WBH learning environment and how they impact student performance. We studied over 300 students using WBH extensively for their coursework, throughout a semester in an undergraduate class at a large public university. In this paper, we present factors in the WBH learning environment that were found to have a significant impact on student performance during the course of a semester. In addition to individual and technological factors, this study presents findings that demonstrate that frustration with IT use is a component of the learning environment, and as a construct, has a larger impact than usefulness on student performance at the end of a course. Our results indicate that educators may benefit from training students and engaging them in utility of co-operative learning assignments to mitigate the level of frustration with the software in the WBH learning environment and improve student performance.

This article reports on research conducted in the department of Linguistics and English Language at Lancaster University from 2002 to 2005 on first-year undergraduate student performance in, and reaction to, a web-based introductory course in stylistic analysis. The main focus of this report is a comparison of student responses to the varying ways in which the web-based course was used from year to year. The description of student responses is based on an analysis of end-of-course questionnaires and a comparison of exit grades. In 2002–3, students accessed the first two-thirds of the course in web-based form and the last third through more traditional teaching. In 2003–4 the entire course was accessed in web-based form, and in 2004–5 web-based course workshops were used as part of a combined package which also involved weekly lectures and seminars. Some comparison is also made with student performance in, and responses to, the traditional lecture + seminar form of the course, as typified in the 2001–2 version of the course.

Abstract: In this era of globalization, information technology is speeding up. In managing the information required good technology because the information has a greatvalue for a company. And computer technology today with its increasingly sophisticated processing speed has enabled the development of computer-based information systems. Problems that exist in Kauman Apothecary is about the data processing that is still done manually, ranging from the admission process of incoming drugs, drugs out, often the absence of matching stock between the data with the original drug, as well as in making reports that still use microsoft excel. The design of the system is described by UML modeling, drug sales information system on web-based pharmacy kauman intranet this is the best solution, can improve the quality of data processing drugs in pharmacies kauman. And with the creation of this information system, can help simplify data processing moreleverage, while keeping data safe and minimize the data kerangkapan. The design of web-based drug sales information system is made using PHP and MySQL.Keywords: Information System, Sales, Kauman PharmacyAbstrak: Dalam era globalisasi sekarang ini, teknologi informasi melaju dengan cepatnya.Dalam mengelola informasi dibutuhkan teknologi yang baik karena informasi mempunyai nilai yang besar bagi suatu perusahaan. Modernization causes the examination process in some educational institutions that are usually done conventionally now start to change to CBT (Computer Based Test). At STMIK Atma Luhur, CBT in the form of a coding test carried out on a computer laboratory was felt to be not effective enough due to a short correction time, as well as the possibility of lossing the students work due to sudden power failure. Collection of jobs using an LAN (Local Area Network) intranet network can not be realized due to the difficult network configuration and requires not a small cost. One solution that can be offered in overcoming the above problem is to create a web-based exam application that is connected to a Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) intranet network. The system development model and tools used in this study are prototype models and UML (Unified Modeling Language). The proposed application is effective in facilitating and accelerating the process of collecting student answer files from several client computers to a server computer. In addition, the usage of the proposed application allows the lecturer not to correct students' answers in a hurry, so that the scores that are truly objective and can be accounted for are obtained.

Hal itu terlihat dari jumlah siswa yang mencapai KKM  pada siklus pertama yakni  3 orang dengan nilai rata-rata semua siswa 51,70 menjadi 19 orang pada siklus kedua dengan nilai rata-rata semua siswa 75.Kata kunci: Media Gambar Berseri, Peningkatan Hasil Belajar, Menulis Puisi, Penelitian Tindakan KelasABSTRACTThe aims of this research is to improve the ability to write poetry for VIII-1 grade students at SMP Negeri 17 Ambon. The data of this research are in the form of poetry writing test results taken from each cycle. The sample consisted of 25 students. Test data were analyzed using a formula that is the student scores obtained from the results for the total score obtained by students with an ideal score. Student test results are then qualified according to predetermined criteria. The results showed that there was an increase in the learning outcomes of writing poetry for VIII-1 grade students of SMP Negeri 17 Ambon by using serial media. This can be seen from the number of students who reached the KKM in the first cycle namely 3 people with an average value of all students 51.70. It becomes 19 people in the second cycle with an average value of all students 75.Keyword: Serial Image Media, Learning Outcomes Improvement, Writing Poetry, Classroom Action Research
