Mechanical models are governed either by partial differential equations with boundary conditions and initial conditions (e.g., in the frame of continuum mechanics) or by ordinary differential equations (e.g., after discretization via Galerkin procedure or directly from the model description) with the initial conditions. In order to study dynamical behavior of mechanical systems with a finite number of degrees of freedom including nonsmooth terms (e.g., friction), we consider here problems governed by differential inclusions. To describe effects of particular constitutive laws, we add a delay term. In contrast to previous papers, we introduce delay via a Volterra kernel. We provide existence and uniqueness results by using an Euler implicit numerical scheme; then convergence with its order is established. A few numerical examples are given.

Abstract In this paper we are concerned with nonlinear implicit fractional differential equations with initial conditions. We prove the existence and uniqueness results by using modified version of contraction principle. Further, our prime aim is to present various Ulam-Hyers stability and Eα-Ulam-Hyers stability results via successive approximation method.

AbstractWe introduce and study a new kind of nonlocal boundary value problems of multi-term fractional differential equations. The existence and uniqueness results for the given problem are obtained by applying standard fixed point theorems. We also construct some examples for demonstrating the application of the main results.

In this paper, we give existence and uniqueness results for backward stochastic differential equations when the generator has a polynomial growth in the state variable. We deal with the case of a fixed terminal time, as well as the case of random terminal time. The need for this type of extension of the classical existence and uniqueness results comes from the desire to provide a probabilistic representation of the solutions of semilinear partial differential equations in the spirit of a nonlinear Feynman-Kac formula. Indeed, in many applications of interest, the nonlinearity is polynomial, e.g, the Allen-Cahn equation or the standard nonlinear heat and Schrödinger equations.

AbstractIn this article we present the existence and uniqueness results for fractional integro-differential equations with ψ-Hilfer fractional derivative. The reasoning is mainly based upon different types of classical fixed point theory such as the Mönch fixed point theorem and the Banach fixed point theorem. Furthermore, we discuss Eα -Ulam-Hyers stability of the presented problem. Also, we use the generalized Gronwall inequality with singularity to establish continuous dependence and uniqueness of the δ-approximate solution.

A nonlinear boundary value problem arising from continuum mechanics is considered. The nonlinearity of the model arises from the constitutive law which is described by means of the subdifferential of a convex constitutive map. A bipotential [Formula: see text], related to the constitutive map and its Fenchel conjugate, is considered. Exploring the possibility to rewrite the constitutive law as a law governed by the bipotential [Formula: see text], a two-field variational formulation involving a variable convex set is proposed. Subsequently, we obtain existence and uniqueness results. Some properties of the solution are also discussed.

In this paper, we derive existence and uniqueness results for a nonlinear Caputo–Riemann–Liouville type fractional integro-differential boundary value problem with multi-point sub-strip boundary conditions, via Banach and Krasnosel’skii⏝’s fixed point theorems. Examples are included for the illustration of the obtained results.

We consider a new class of boundary value problems of nonlinear fractional differential equations with fractional separated boundary conditions. A connection between classical separated and fractional separated boundary conditions is developed. Some new existence and uniqueness results are obtained for this class of problems by using standard fixed point theorems. Some illustrative examples are also discussed.
