Ridesplitting is a new form of for-hire service that riders with similar origins and destinations are matched to the same vehicle in real-time via Internet. However, the market share of ridesplitting only accounts for a small fraction of total travel. Understanding cognitive factors affecting ridesplitting preference would be helpful in designing its market measures, regulations, and incentives to achieve high-level customer attractions. This paper identifies the cognitive determinants affecting ridesplitting preference and their inner relationships via the structural equation model. The data from an online survey conducted in Shanghai were implemented for model calibration. The modal fitness results are reasonable, and the path coefficients are significant, exhibiting that the proposed hypothesis cannot be rejected. Specifically, attitude towards incentives and management issues, perceived benefit, and perceived usefulness appear to be strong active driving forces that encourage the desire to adopt ridesplitting.

In the context of dramatically increase in electricity demand, Vietnam's potential for power supply remains limited. Research and promotion of electricity saving behavior of households become significant to reduce electricity consumption and protect ecological environment. This study incorporates elements of planned behavior theory (TPB) and norm activation model (NAM) as the basis for developing and extending key assumptions. In addition, expansion TPB is used to study influence factors affecting electricity saving behavior. Through a sample of 395 randomly selected residents in Tay Ninh Province and Ho Chi Minh city in Vietnam, the proposals were checked using a structural equation model (SEM). The results showed that the factors in TPB and NAM (such as perceived behavioral control, subjective norm, attitude, personal moral norm) and additional factor (perceived benefit) are the important factors that influence resident's intention of saving electricity. Moreover, electricity saving behavior is strongly influenced by the intention of saving electricity, perceived benefit, policy and social propaganda. Based on these results, some inferences are drawn, and recommendations are made for policy makers and further research proposals are discussed.

Recently, logistics platforms that facilitate interaction and the exchange and transaction of information have quickly emerged in the Korean domestic market. In order to further advance the development of logistics platforms into green logistics platforms in which participation in the early stages is not active, appropriate checks and balances are needed so that service providers, users, and platform operators can grow together in green logistics platforms. The purpose of this study is to empirically verify the factors affecting participants’ intentions to use green logistics platforms. Out of the 230 questionnaires distributed from 25 June to 11 July 2019, 14 were excluded from analyses due to unsatisfactory responses, while 216 responses were used for statistical processing. The structural equation model (SEM) was used to test hypotheses in this research. The results showed that the network effect and security factors influenced perceived usefulness, and trust did not affect perceived usefulness. Perceived usefulness also significantly influenced the intention to use green logistics platforms. The results of this study present strategies and directions for the future development of green logistics platforms.

Teachers in the US have been increasingly adopting mobile devices for teaching, but little research has examined how pre-service teachers perceive mobile device integration in classrooms. To address this issue, the study developed a research model that explained factors affecting pre-service teachers' intention to use mobile devices and the relationship among the factors. A total of 386 pre-service teachers participated in an online survey, and the model was tested using structural equation modeling. The results showed that 72.5% of variances in pre-service teachers' intention to use mobile devices were explained by perceived usefulness and self-efficacy for technology integration jointly, where perceived usefulness was the strongest predictor. The findings also demonstrated that constructivist beliefs and perceived ease of use indirectly influenced pre-service teachers' intention to use mobile devices for teaching.

The new European Organic Regulation 2018/848 has announced the phasing out of derogations for the use of untreated non-organic seed by 2036. However, the use of organic seed by organic farmers is currently limited. This paper aims to identify the factors affecting the use of organic seed. It is based on data collected from 749 organic farmers in 20 European countries, by conducting an online survey and using a network sampling. Results of the descriptive statistics and linear mixed models indicate that: (1) the situation of organic seed use is not consistent across geographical regions and crop sectors; (2) the use of organic seed is higher on farms selling directly to consumers than on those selling to supermarkets; (3) larger and more recently converted farms use less organic seed than established organic farms. In the second part of the paper, we analyse farmers’ attitudes towards organic seed use. The structural equation model (SEM) suggests that the highest contribution to explaining intention to use organic seed comes from social norms, i.e., farmers’ perception of societal expectations, particularly from the consumer and the organic certifier. Such expectations, if communicated in the public and political discourse, could stimulate the use of organic seed.

Mobile commerce has already become one of the trends in future developments. Therefore, mobile shopping in application of mobile commerce will become one of the services with a vast development potential. A technology acceptance model (TAM) with trust is utilized to explore influence of perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness in mobile shopping on customers' attitudes and behavioral intention to use, mobility, convenience and information richness, characterized by mobile commerce. An online survey was performed on a sample of 600 mobile users in Taiwan. Structural equation models (SEM) are used to examine hypotheses within the theoretical framework.

As many as 120 questionnaires were collected from market players in Bursa Malaysia using online survey. Afterwards, the data collected were analyzed using structural equation model to reveal the relationship of variables tested in the proposed model. The result shows that religiosity and subjective norms appeared to be the significant factors affecting intention to choose Islamic investment schemes in Malaysia Islamic capital markets. Interestingly, despite its significant role shown in previous studies, this study has shown insignificant level of the attitude in predicting the intention behavior. The managerial implications are discussed in this paper.

This chapter draws on a survey of CEO and IT managers in local authorities in Egypt to explain the key factors affecting their use of DSS in making strategic decisions. This chapter proposes and tests a Structural Equation Model (SEM) that extends the generally accepted Technology Acceptance Model to assess relationships between an extensive range of constructs and their relation with DSS usage via Perceived Ease of Use and Perceived Usefulness. The SEM approach has enabled the development of a framework that will support a sustainable approach towards the adoption and use of DSS in developing Middle Eastern countries.

The improvement of transit service quality is an essential role in developing urban and interstate transportation. The local government, as well as bus service companies, should understand the behavioral intention of passengers to meet their expectation and requirements. This paper aims to highlight such behavioral decision and investigate dominant factors that influence the customers’ decision to use the express bus. The study explores the case of express bus companies in Tay Ninh province, Vietnam. By using the structural equation model approach to analyze the data collected from 295 passengers, who have experienced in using the express bus, the results reveal that service quality has a significantly positive relationship with both perceived value and corporate image. Specifically, customer satisfaction and organizational image also positively influence behavioral intention. Meanwhile, service quality indirectly affects on behavioral intention throughout perceived value and corporate image. Based on the findings, we provided some insightful managerial implications and recommendations to managers of bus carriers, and valuable practical suggestions to policymakers in the local government of Tay Ninh province to improve the service quality to encourage more citizens to use the express bus.
