Heart disease is the deadliest disease and one of leading causes of death worldwide. Machine learning is playing an essential role in the medical side. In this paper, ensemble learning methods are used to enhance the performance of predicting heart disease. Two features of extraction methods: linear discriminant analysis (LDA) and principal component analysis (PCA), are used to select essential features from the dataset. The comparison between machine learning algorithms and ensemble learning methods is applied to selected features. The different methods are used to evaluate models: accuracy, recall, precision, F-measure, and ROC.The results show the bagging ensemble learning method with decision tree has achieved the best performance.

Heart diseases are responsible for the greatest number of deaths all over the world. These diseases are usually not detected in early stages as the cost of medical diagnostics is not affordable by a majority of the people. Research has shown that machine learning methods have a great capability to extract valuable information from the medical data. This information is used to build the prediction models which provide cost effective technological aid for a medical practitioner to detect the heart disease in early stages. However, the presence of some irrelevant and redundant features in medical data deteriorates the competence of the prediction system. This research was aimed to improve the accuracy of the existing methods by removing such features. In this study, brute force-based algorithm of feature selection was used to determine relevant significant features. After experimenting rigorously with 7528 possible combinations of features and 5 machine learning algorithms, 8 important features were identified. A prediction model was developed using these significant features. Accuracy of this model is experimentally calculated to be 86.4%which is higher than the results of existing studies. The prediction model proposed in this study shall help in predicting heart disease efficiently.

This article describes how healthcare organizations is growing increasingly and are the potential beneficiary users of the data that is generated and gathered. From hospitals to clinics, data and analytics can be a very powerful tool that can improve patient care and satisfaction with efficiency. In developing countries, cardiovascular diseases have a huge impact on increasing death rates and are expected by the end of 2020 in spite of the best clinical practices. The current Machine Learning (ml) algorithms are adapted to estimate the heart disease risks in middle aged patients. Hence, to predict the heart diseases a detailed analysis is made in this research work by taking into account the angiographic heart disease status (i.e. ≥ 50% diameter narrowing). Deep Neural Network (DNN), Extreme Learning Machine (elm), K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN) and Support Vector Machine (SVM) learning algorithm (with linear and polynomial kernel functions) are considered in this work. The accuracy and results of these algorithms are analyzed by comparing the effectiveness among them.

: Heart disease has been one of the ruling causes for death for quite some time now. About 31% of all deaths every year in the world take place as a result of cardiovascular diseases [1]. A majority of the patients remain uninformed of their symptoms until quite late while others find it difficult to minimise the effects of risk factors that cause heart diseases. Machine Learning Algorithms have been quite efficacious in producing results with a high level of correctness thereby preventing the onset of heart diseases in many patients and reducing the impact in the ones that are already affected by such diseases. It has helped medical researchers and doctors all over the world in recognising patterns in the patients resulting in early detections of heart diseases.

Different geographical origins can lead to great variance in coffee quality, taste, and commercial value. Hence, controlling the authenticity of the origin of coffee beans is of great importance for producers and consumers worldwide. In this study, terahertz (THz) spectroscopy, combined with machine learning methods, was investigated as a fast and non-destructive method to classify the geographic origin of coffee beans, comparing it with the popular machine learning methods, including convolutional neural network (CNN), linear discriminant analysis (LDA), and support vector machine (SVM) to obtain the best model. The curse of dimensionality will cause some classification methods which are struggling to train effective models. Thus, principal component analysis (PCA) and genetic algorithm (GA) were applied for LDA and SVM to create a smaller set of features. The first nine principal components (PCs) with an accumulative contribution rate of 99.9% extracted by PCA and 21 variables selected by GA were the inputs of LDA and SVM models. The results demonstrate that the excellent classification (accuracy was 90% in a prediction set) could be achieved using a CNN method. The results also indicate variable selecting as an important step to create an accurate and robust discrimination model. The performances of LDA and SVM algorithms could be improved with spectral features extracted by PCA and GA. The GA-SVM has achieved 75% accuracy in a prediction set, while the SVM and PCA-SVM have achieved 50 and 65% accuracy, respectively. These results demonstrate that THz spectroscopy, together with machine learning methods, is an effective and satisfactory approach for classifying geographical origins of coffee beans, suggesting the techniques to tap the potential application of deep learning in the authenticity of agricultural products while expanding the application of THz spectroscopy.

Recently, manufacturing industry faces lots of problem in predicting the customer behavior and group for matching their outcome with the profit. The organizations are finding difficult in identifying the customer behavior for the purpose of predicting the product design so as to increase the profit. The prediction of customer group is a challenging task for all the organization due to the current growing entrepreneurs. This results in using the machine learning algorithms to cluster the customer group for predicting the demand of the customers. This helps in decision making process of manufacturing the products. This paper attempts to predict the customer group for the wine data set extracted from UCI Machine Learning repository. The wine data set is subjected to dimensionality reduction with principal component analysis and linear discriminant analysis. A Performance analysis is done with various classification algorithms and comparative study is done with the performance metric such as accuracy, precision, recall, and f-score. Experimental results shows that after applying dimensionality reduction, the 2 component LDA reduced wine data set with the kernel SVM, Random Forest classifier is found to be effective with the accuracy of 100% compared to other classifiers.

Heart disease and machine learning are the two different words where one is related to medical field and another one to artificial intelligence. In medical filed most of them are facing the problems with the heart disease and machine learning is developing area in computer science. Heart disease is general called cardiac disease where it gives the more data or information, it is to be collected to give the reports for the patients and the machine learning also requires the data for predicting and to solve the problems. Machine learning techniques are used in prediction of heart diseases where it gives the faster prediction with less computation time and better accuracy to progress their health. Heart disease prediction requires lot of data for predicting and in cloud computing also we have more data and the data available in cloud it is difficult to analyze. So we use machine learning algorithms or techniques to predict the heart disease and the in the similar way we can apply these algorithms or techniques to predict or analyze the data that is available in cloud. In this paper we are going to use machine learning algorithms called Backpropagation Algorithm and later we use optimization algorithm later. Backpropagation algorithm deals with the artificial neural networks. Backpropagation is a method used to calculate the error contribution of each neuron after a batch of data (in image recognition, multiple images) is processed. This is used by an enveloping optimization algorithm to adjust the weight of each neuron, completing the learning process for that case. Machine learning algorithms and techniques are used for recognize the intensity of risk issues in humans and it helps the patients to take safety measures in well advances to save the patient’s life.

The number of network and sensor-enabled devices in the Internet of Things (IoT) domains is growing extremely, leading to a huge production of data. These data contain important information which can be used in various areas, such as science, industry, medical, and even social life. To make the IoT system smart, the only solution is entering the world of machine learning. Many machine learning algorithms are introduced for handling such a huge amount of IoT data. It is very difficult to find the best-suited algorithm for problems in the IoT domain. This study combined three ensemble models and proposed a new model termed the “hybrid model”. A set of features are extracted from the raw IoT datasets from diverse IoT domains, using Principal component analysis (PCA), Linear discriminant analysis (LDA), and Isomap for classification problems. Performance comparison of the classifiers is provided in terms of their accuracy, area under the curve (AUC), and F1 score. This comparative study’s experimental result  shows that Hybrid with PCA and Stacking ensemble technique in particular with PCA have better overall performance than other ensemble techniques for binary class and multie class datasets respectively
