Bipolar soft set is formulated by two soft sets; one of them provides us the positive information and the other provides us the negative information. The philosophy of bipolarity is that human judgment is based on two sides, positive and negative, and we choose the one which is stronger. In this paper, we introduce novel belong and nonbelong relations between a bipolar soft set and an ordinary point. These relations are considered as one of the unique characteristics of bipolar soft sets which are somewhat expression of the degrees of membership and nonmembership of an element. We discuss essential properties and derive the sufficient conditions of some equivalence of these relations. We also define the concept of soft mappings between two classes of bipolar soft sets and study the behaviors of an ordinary point under these soft mappings with respect to all relations introduced herein. Then, we apply bipolar soft sets to build an optimal choice application. We give an algorithm of this application and show the method for implementing this algorithm by an illustrative example. In conclusion, it can be noted that the relations defined herein give another viewpoint to explore the concepts of bipolar soft topology, in particular, soft separation axioms and soft covers.

Bipolar soft set theory is a mathematical tool associates between bipolarity and soft set theory, it is defined by two soft sets one of them gives us the positive information where the other gives us the negative. The goal of our paper is to define the bipolar soft topological space on a bipolar soft set and study its basic notions and properties. We also investigate the definitions of: bipolar soft interior, bipolar soft closure, bipolar soft exterior, bipolar soft boundary and establish some important properties on them. Some relations between them are also discussed. Moreover, the notions of bipolar soft point, bipolar soft limit point and the derived set of a bipolar soft set are discussed. In additions, examples are presented to illustrate our work.

AbstractThis paper formalizes a novel model that is able to use both interval representations, parameterizations, partial memberships and multi-polarity. These are differing modalities of uncertain knowledge that are supported by many models in the literature. The new structure that embraces all these features simultaneously is called interval-valued multi-polar fuzzy soft set (IVmFSS, for short). An enhanced combination of interval-valued m-polar fuzzy (IVmF) sets and soft sets produces this model. As such, the theory of IVmFSSs constitutes both an interval-valued multipolar-fuzzy generalization of soft set theory; a multipolar generalization of interval-valued fuzzy soft set theory; and an interval-valued generalization of multi-polar fuzzy set theory. Some fundamental operations for IVmFSSs, including intersection, union, complement, “OR”, “AND”, are explored and investigated through examples. An algorithm is developed to solve decision-making problems having data in interval-valued m-polar fuzzy soft form. It is applied to two numerical examples. In addition, three parameter reduction approaches and their algorithmic formulation are proposed for IVmFSSs. They are respectively called parameter reduction based on optimal choice, rank based parameter reduction, and normal parameter reduction. Moreover, these outcomes are compared with existing interval-valued fuzzy methods; relatedly, a comparative analysis among reduction approaches is investigated. Two real case studies for the selection of best site for an airport construction and best rotavator are studied.

The main purpose of this chapter is to introduce the notions of ?-operation, pre-open soft set a-open sets, semi open soft set and ß-open soft sets to soft topological spaces. We study the relations between these different types of subsets of soft topological spaces. We introduce new soft separation axioms based on the semi open soft sets which are more general than of the open soft sets. We show that the properties of soft semi Ti-spaces (i=1,2) are soft topological properties under the bijection and irresolute open soft mapping. Also, we introduce the notion of supra soft topological spaces. Moreover, we introduce the concept of supra generalized closed soft sets (supra g-closed soft for short) in a supra topological space (X,µ,E) and study their properties in detail.

We aim through this paper to achieve two goals: first, we define some types of belong and nonbelong relations between ordinary points and double-framed soft sets. These relations are one of the distinguishing characteristics of double-framed soft sets and are somewhat expression of the degrees of membership and nonmembership. We explore their main properties and determine the conditions under which some of them are equivalent. Also, we introduce the concept of soft mappings between two classes of double-framed soft sets and investigate the relationship between an ordinary point and its image and preimage with respect to the different types of belong and nonbelong relations. By the notions presented herein, many concepts can be studied on double-framed soft topology such as soft separation axioms and cover properties. Second, we give an educational application of optimal choices using the idea of double-framed soft sets. We provide an algorithm of this application with an example to show how this algorithm is carried out.

This paper first merges two noteworthy aspects of choice. On the one hand, soft sets and fuzzy soft sets are popular models that have been largely applied to decision making problems, such as real estate valuation, medical diagnosis (glaucoma, prostate cancer, etc.), data mining, or international trade. They provide crisp or fuzzy parameterized descriptions of the universe of alternatives. On the other hand, in many decisions, costs and benefits occur at different points in time. This brings about intertemporal choices, which may involve an indefinitely large number of periods. However, the literature does not provide a model, let alone a solution, to the intertemporal problem when the alternatives are described by (fuzzy) parameterizations. In this paper, we propose a novel soft set inspired model that applies to the intertemporal framework, hence it fills an important gap in the development of fuzzy soft set theory. An algorithm allows the selection of the optimal option in intertemporal choice problems with an infinite time horizon. We illustrate its application with a numerical example involving alternative portfolios of projects that a public administration may undertake. This allows us to establish a pioneering intertemporal model of choice in the framework of extended fuzzy set theories.

As an improvement of fuzzy set theory, the notion of soft set was initiated as a general mathematical tool for handling phenomena with nonstatistical uncertainties. Recently, a novel idea of set-valued maps whose range set lies in a family of soft sets was inaugurated as a significant refinement of fuzzy mappings and classical multifunctions as well as their corresponding fixed point theorems. Following this new development, in this paper, the concepts of e-continuity and E-continuity of soft set-valued maps and αe-admissibility for a pair of such maps are introduced. Thereafter, we present some generalized quasi-contractions and prove the existence of e-soft fixed points of a pair of the newly defined non-crisp multivalued maps. The hypotheses and usability of these results are supported by nontrivial examples and applications to a system of integral inclusions. The established concepts herein complement several fixed point theorems in the framework of point-to-set-valued maps in the comparable literature. A few of these special cases of our results are highlighted and discussed.

Uncertain delay differential equation is a class of functional differential equations driven by Liu process. It is an important model to describe the evolution process of uncertain dynamical system. In this paper, on the one hand, the analytic expression of a class of linear uncertain delay differential equations are investigated. On the other hand, the new sufficient conditions for uncertain delay differential equations being stable in measure and in mean are presented by using retarded-type Gronwall inequality. Several examples show that our stability conditions are superior to the existing results.

In this paper, we first define soft u-open sets and soft s-open as two new classes of soft sets on soft bitopological spaces. We show that the class of soft p-open sets lies strictly between these classes, and we give several sufficient conditions for the equivalence between soft p-open sets and each of the soft u-open sets and soft s-open sets, respectively. In addition to these, we introduce the soft u-ω-open, soft p-ω-open, and soft s-ω-open sets as three new classes of soft sets in soft bitopological spaces, which contain soft u-open sets, soft p-open sets, and soft s-open sets, respectively. Via soft u-open sets, we define two notions of Lindelöfeness in SBTSs. We discuss the relationship between these two notions, and we characterize them via other types of soft sets. We define several types of soft local countability in soft bitopological spaces. We discuss relationships between them, and via some of them, we give two results related to the discrete soft topological space. According to our new concepts, the study deals with the correspondence between soft bitopological spaces and their generated bitopological spaces.

AbstractIn this paper, we study asymptotic behavior of solutions to obstacle problems for p-Laplacians as {p\to\infty}. For the one-dimensional case and for the radial case, we give an explicit expression of the limit. In the n-dimensional case, we provide sufficient conditions to assure the uniform convergence of the whole family of the solutions of obstacle problems either for data f that change sign in Ω or for data f (that do not change sign in Ω) possibly vanishing in a set of positive measure.

We introduce the concept of generalised interval-valued fuzzy soft set and its operations and study some of their properties. We give applications of this theory in solving a decision making problem. We also introduce a similarity measure of two generalised interval-valued fuzzy soft sets and discuss its application in a medical diagnosis problem: fuzzy set; soft set; fuzzy soft set; generalised fuzzy soft set; generalised interval-valued fuzzy soft set; interval-valued fuzzy set; interval-valued fuzzy soft set.
