For series, parallel, and k-out-of-n voting system reliability calculation methods, the six σ principles have been proposed in this study to derive the interchange relationship between interval parameters and random parameters. The interval reliability index can be expressed in the function of the random reliability index. The interval reliability index can then be transformed into a random reliability index. The computational method of the reliability for series, parallel, and k-out-of-n voting systems with interval parameters is established. Finally, it has been shown that the proposed method is rational, practical, and applicable with two engineering practical simulations.

The influence of crack defects on the ultimate strength of stiffened plate is analyzed, and reliability calculation and sensitivity analysis expressions of stiffened plate elements are given in this paper. An approach to sensitivity analysis for the global reliability index are proposed for the structure system which consists of stiffened plate elements with crack defects, providing the base for analyzing the contribution of design variables to the system reliability and seeking conveniently weak elements which reduce the reliability index of structure system. Finally, the validity of the approach is verified by taking a numerical example of a cabin section of the ship structure. The approach proposed in this paper provides an applicable reference for the safe design and maintenance of structure system.

The need for electricity in this global era is increasing, so that a more reliable electrical system is needed. A reliable system cannot be separated from interference, so there needs to be a system reliability analysis and power loss to the feeder by configuring the network. This research was conducted to find the reliability index value in the form of interference frequency and duration of interference (SAIFI and SAIDI). In one Tabanan feeder the results obtained exceed the standard so reconfiguration is performed Based on the analysis obtained before reconfiguration, the reliability index for SAIFI is 6,7456 (failure / year) and SAIDI is 11,4767 (hour / year) and power loss by 6,27 %. After reconfiguration of Tabanan feeder, the reliability index was better, for SAIFI is 5.2475 (disturbance / year) and SAIDI is 9,8798 (hour / year), the power loss was 2.82%. Sanggulan feeder is a new feeder reconfiguration result from Tabanan feeder, where the analysis was carried out to find out the reliability index of Sanggulan feeder, it was obtained the SAIFI value of 4.5753 (disturbance / year) and SAIDI of 9.5297 (hour / year) and power loss of 4,80%.

According to random field theory, combined with the construction of the characteristics of reinforced concrete structures, based on the geometric significance of the reliability index, the optimization algorithm of the reliability was established, and the reliability calculation algorithm of reinforced concrete structural during construction is proposed based on stochastic finite element method. Based on a stochastic analysis of the practical engineering, the time-varying laws of the reinforced concrete structural reliability index during construction are concluded.

This paper defines and explores the notion of ‘software independence’ in voting systems: ‘A voting system is software independent if an (undetected) change or error in its software cannot cause an undetectable change or error in an election outcome’. For example, optical scan and some cryptographically based voting systems are software independent. Variations and implications of this definition are explored. It is proposed that software-independent voting systems should be preferred, and software-dependent voting systems should be avoided. An initial version of this paper was prepared for use by the Technical Guidelines Development Committee in their development of the Voluntary Voting System Guidelines, which will specify the requirements that the USA voting systems must meet to receive certification.

In the operation of the hydropower units, it often come across condition changes such as start-up, normal stop, increase or decrease the load and load rejection. This will cause the hydraulic transient process of the water power generation system, which is of great significance to the safe and stable operation of hydropower station. This paper analyzes the method to calculate the transient process of hydropower unit and expounds the principle of all kinds of calculation methods and steps to lay a foundation for further optimization study.


Voting is important for any democratic country. It can be considered as one of the major factors that make a government for the people and by the people. The most common methods of voting that currently exist are ballot-based voting, purely electronic methods, and Electronic Voting Machines, among others. Over the years, it has been a challenge to build a secure E-voting program that provides the privacy of current voting systems while offering a means of accountability and versatility. Using blockchain technology and cryptography we can make the process of elections as open and cost-effective as possible. In this review paper we discuss a new, blockchain-based electronic voting system that addresses some of the limitations in existing systems and evaluates some of the popular systems designed to create a blockchain-based e-voting system.

On the basis of the Bouc-Wen hysteretic model, a numerical method for the reliability analysis of stochastic multi-degree-of-freedom hysteretic system with correlated failure modes is presented. Under the first passage model, considering the random caused by hysteretic loop itself, the theory of incomplete probability information and the fourth-moment technique and Gram Charlier series are employed to develop a numerical reliability analysis method systematically. The numerical example reveals that in most of cases, though system is characterized by a set of independent random parameters, the responses are strongly correlated, and correlation coefficient between the responses is fluctuated with time. The system reliability with correlated failure modes is evaluated with proposed method, and the result obtained by this method is compared well with the Monte-Carlo simulations.

Based on reliability theory, the application calculation method of Concrete Filled Steel Tube (CFST) arch bridge system reliability index is studied. Select the most unfavorable load distribution in working condition of maximum moment and deflection at the mid-span, from the angle of strain energy, calculated the weights of CFST arch ribs component. On the basis of the grading standards of reliability assessment of the existing bridge components and the critical structures, CFST arch bridge system reliability assessment grading standards are constructed. CFST arch bridges reliability index are evaluated from two aspects (the arch ribs and segment) in this article. As the CFST arch bridge locates in the marine environment, corrosion environment is the serious level of C5-M, steel pipe corrosion is the major diseases of CFST, arch rib which on the corrosion conditions were assessed. The results show that the method can effectively assess the situation of CFST arch bridge.
