Auto electronic insurance policy and electronic maintenance list record the entire process of auto owners purchasing auto insurance and repairs after accident, respectively. They play a vital role in auto owners’ applications for claims and insurance company’s judgment on whether to settle the claims. However, the privacy of insurance policy and the “information island” resulting from the nonsharing of data between users make the claim has low efficiency. The notable features of blockchain technology are decentralization and tamper-proof, which can well solve data sharing and privacy protection. This paper proposes a blockchain-based auto insurance data sharing scheme to improve the existing auto insurance claim system. The scheme includes four main bodies: auto owner, insurance company, 4S Shop, and government authority. In the proposed scheme, the data sharing of authorized users is realized through proxy reencryption. Finally, we have analyzed the security and performance of the solution. The analysis results show that the proposed scheme can meet many security features such as user access control and data tamper resistance and has an ideal calculation and communication cost.

Recently, cloud-based mobile crowdsensing (MCS) has developed into a promising paradigm which can provide convenient data sensing, collection, storage, and sharing services for resource-constrained terminates. Nevertheless, it also inflicts many security concerns such as illegal access toward user secret and privacy. To protect shared data against unauthorized accesses, many studies on Ciphertext-Policy Attribute-Based Encryption (CP-ABE) have been proposed to achieve data sharing granularity. However, providing a scalable and time-sensitive data-sharing scheme across hierarchical users with compound attribute sets and revocability remains a big issue. In this paper, we investigate this challenge and propose a hierarchical and time-sensitive CP-ABE scheme, named HTR-DAC, which is characteristics of time-sensitive data access control with scalability, revocability, and high efficiency. Particularly, we propose a time-sensitive CP-ABE for hierarchical structured users with recursive attribute sets. Moreover, we design a robust revocable mechanism to achieve direct user revocation in our scheme. We also integrate verifiable outsourced decryption to improve efficiency and guarantee correctness in decryption procedure. Extensive security and performance analysis is presented to demonstrate the security requirement satisfaction and high efficiency for our data-sharing scheme in MCS.

In the current medical insurance claims process, there are problems of low efficiency and complex services. When a patient applies for medical insurance claims, he/she must go to the hospital to apply for a diagnosis certificate and receipt and then send the relevant application documents to the insurance company. The patient will not receive compensation until the company completes the verification with the patient’s hospital. However, we can improve the current dilemma through blockchain technology. Blockchain technology can effectively open up the information channels of the insurance industry and medical institutions, promote industry integration, and enhance the ability of insurance companies to obtain information. In this research, we used blockchain and smart contract technology to make the following contributions to the development of Internet insurance. First, blockchain and smart contract technology can effectively solve the problem of online underwriting. Second, it is conducive to improving supervision. Third, it is conducive to solving risk control problems. Fourth, it is conducive to effective anti-money laundering. The proposed scheme fulfills the following security requirements: mutual authentication of identities, non-repudiation between each of two roles, and other major blockchain-based security requirements. In the event of a dispute, we also proposed an arbitration mechanism to divide responsibilities.

Annual investment in infrastructure industry of Vietnam has expanded substantially since the adoption of reform and opening-up policy in 1986. Although this investment helps improving the capacity of infrastructure system, there are challenges in terms of project performance, which has been informed to be confronting with a number of critical problems, related to low competitiveness, poor quality, cost overruns, time delays, poor productivity, low efficiency and client dissatisfaction. Contributing to the massive investment, the Official Development Assistance (ODA) infrastructure projects (ODAIPs) has been played a vital role in the development for the last decades. The success of an ODAIP is determined by stakeholders’ perspective who have diverse objectives and concerns. At the completion of any ODAIPs, a preparation of a post project completion report is required with verifying all aspects of the ODAIPs have been completed, authorizing the project budget and discussing the issues that had been encountered over the course of project, which is needed to implications for further ODAIPs. This study aims to analyze the users’ perspectives in post appraisal of ODAIPs in regard to the functions of project management, including project conception, project planning, project directing and project controlling. The analyses were performed from users’ related project-specific data that were collected from 27 completed ODAIPs in Vietnam. The findings of this study are expected to offer not only a useful tool for construction professionals delivering appropriately managerial functions contributing to ODAIPs success and sustainability, but also active feedbacks to further enhancing of the ODA’s policies. Background: We study the impact of suicide-exclusion periods, common in life insurance policies in Australia, on suicide and accidental death rates for life-insured individuals. If a life-insured individual dies by suicide during the period of suicide exclusion, commonly 13 months, the sum insured is not paid. Aims: We examine whether a suicide-exclusion period affects the timing of suicides. We also analyze whether accidental deaths are more prevalent during the suicide-exclusion period as life-insured individuals disguise their death by suicide. We assess the relationship between the insured sum and suicidal death rates. Methods: Crude and age-standardized rates of suicide, accidental death, and overall death, split by duration since the insured first bought their insurance policy, were computed. Results: There were significantly fewer suicides and no significant spike in the number of accidental deaths in the exclusion period for Australian life insurance data. More suicides, however, were detected for the first 2 years after the exclusion period. Higher insured sums are associated with higher rates of suicide. Conclusions: Adverse selection in Australian life insurance is exacerbated by including a suicide-exclusion period. Extension of the suicide-exclusion period to 3 years may prevent some “insurance-induced” suicides – a rationale for this conclusion is given.
