As a new way to travel, ride-hailing has brought great convenience to the public. However, the demand expression ability of passengers in the existing ride-hailing platforms is weak, and the accuracy of the matching results is low, resulting in a large number of transaction losses and the loss of platform revenue. In this paper, we propose a kind of mutual selection mechanism of ride-hailing based on hidden points, which is composed of platform benefit calculation algorithm and driver assignment algorithm. The platform benefit calculation algorithm mainly calculates the benefits obtained by the platform after the order is completed, while the driver allocation algorithm meets the mutual selection needs of passengers and drivers. Through experiments and theoretical analysis, the mutual selection mechanism proposed in this paper has improved user satisfaction by 5%-21% compared to the traditional methods of order-snatching mechanism and order-sending mechanism, which has significantly improved passenger satisfaction and solved the problem that the existing platform cannot meet the passengers’ individual travel needs and the problem that the passengers’ choice is not fair. The issue of platform revenue was discussed in the context of improved passenger satisfaction.

Background and Purpose: Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) are a major public health problem in the Philippines and around the world. Preventive measures to reduce its continuous rise require improvement in the health system. Utilization of information and communication technology-(ICT)-based tools will allow dissemination of evidenced-based information in the population. This case report contains the description of the development process of a Web-based nutrition Website. Case Description: ICT-based tools were explored as means of communicating nutrition information to the public because of the increasing access and usage of the Internet among Filipinos. An iterative process with five major phases were followed in the development. Outcome: The Website HELP Online can be accessed through (http://i.fnri.dost.gov.ph/helponline). There is integration of two modules: one for the general public and the other for registered nutritionist dietitians (RND) of the Food and Nutrition Research Institute (FNRI). The first module contained the nutrition counseling platform that connects and records all interactions of online and walk-in clients with their RNDs. The second module contained nutrition calculators, a health tracker, and nutrition education materials. Discussion: The developed HELP Online Website was used for online users to easily access nutrition information and services offered by Department of Science and Technology (DOST)-FNRI. The user-centered design focus in combination with a responsive Web platform resulted in improved user satisfaction. In terms of content, use of the current and accepted scientific information translated to simpler and easier messages were found to be more effective among the target group. Although many issues exist with the continuous use of ICT-based tools, the main purpose is to improve the delivery of evidence-based information to the public.

Public transport (PT) continues to receive much attention from many countries as a means to reduce traffic congestion, accident, and pollution. Moreover, PT can boost mobility, physical and social leisure activities for the public. To enhance PT ridership, it is important to enhance its customer loyalty. This study is designed to examine the interrelationships between factors such as accessibility, availability, reliability, comfortability, and safety and security, satisfaction, and loyalty. A total of 179 respondents participated in this study. Partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) was used for data analysis. The results show that availability, safety and security are positively related to user satisfaction. Moreover, satisfaction has been found to be positively related to loyalty. These results suggest that practitioners should focus on availability and safety and security which can enhance satisfaction followed by loyalty. Scholars are recommended to further study other variables which can impact on satisfaction and loyalty.

Passenger satisfaction is an important factor that affects the choice of travel modes for municipalities, especially in big cities. This evaluation is an important task for managers when they are considering improving the competitiveness of the public transportation system. However, passenger satisfaction evaluation is difficult as the information provided by passengers is often vague, imprecise, and uncertain. This paper aims to propose a new method, using Pythagorean fuzzy sets and multi-objective optimization by a ratio analysis plus full multiplicative form method (MULTIMOORA), to evaluate the passenger satisfaction level of the public transportation system under large group environment. The former is employed to represent the satisfaction assessments of rail transit network provided by passengers. The latter is extended and used to determine the passenger satisfaction levels of rail transit lines. In addition, a combination weighting method is suggested to compute the relative weights of evaluation criteria. A case study of the rail transit network in Shanghai is provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed passenger satisfaction evaluation method. The result shows that the new method proposed in this study can not only model passengers’ satisfaction evaluation information with more uncertainties, but also determine more reasonable and credible satisfaction levels of rail transit lines.

SUMMARYA single-tube confirmatory test that allows a result to be obtained in 4 h has been developed from the single-tube confirmatory test recommended by the Joint Committee of the Public Health Laboratory Service and the Standing Committee of Analysts (PHLS/SCA, 1980). A variety of river, lake and reservoir samples were examined for the presence ofE. coliusing either most probable number (MPN) or membrane filtration (MF) technique, and the PHLS/SCA recommended confirmatory medium (LTMB) was evaluated against traditional methods. To improve the performance of LTMB, the medium was modified and this modified medium when used in 0·1 ml volumes and incubated for 4 h at 44°C provided 99% agreement with traditional methods.

The comparative emptiness of Africa in relation to so many other parts of the developing world makes it difficult both for the administrator and the public to see the demographic advantages of a slower rate of population increase. This difficulty is accentuated by tensions among the tribes within a country, and by the racial tensions in the continent as a whole. Political difficulties are compounded by personal ones and there are deep psychologic impediments to family limitation. Although traditional methods of family planning are common in many tribes, there is much resistance to the modern methods that attempt to replace them. Yet even if the economic arguments for family limitation are not widely understood, progress has been made and family planning is slowly coming to be more widely accepted. Still, ominous portents for the future can already be seen. The recent bloodshed in Rwanda, on a scale which has had too little international publicity, seems to have been at least partly due to the pressure of people on land. This is a warning of what the continent can expect if her countries do not make good use of the time that most of them still have to implement rational population policies.

Abstract Background Since 90 s customer orientation has become one of the main priorities in the public sector. While there are several studies dealing with final user satisfaction in the healthcare context, less attention has been given to inter-organizational relationships. This study aims at investigating the relationship between service quality, relationship quality and overall customer satisfaction in the case of a supplier-user provisioning service in the healthcare sector. Methods The analysis was based on a survey administered via CAWI (Computer Assisted Web Interviewing) to all professionals of the Tuscan health system. Moderation and mediation models were carried out to test the relationships between the three constructs, also differentiating among different customer typologies. Results Findings from the moderation model showed how different customers perceive relationship quality as differently influencing their overall satisfaction. This result was confirmed by the mediation models that showed how for one customer typology both relationship quality and service quality were relevant determinants of their satisfaction with supplier performance, even though relational aspects were more significant, compared to service aspects. Whereas, for the second customer typology overall satisfaction was influenced by characteristics concerning relationship quality only, suggesting that service quality dimension was not relevant in determining overall satisfaction. Conclusions In the healthcare provisioning case analyzed, different customers’ typologies have different expectations and weigh differently service related and relationship related aspects. Supplier should use different levers in order to enhance customers’ perceptions about the overall performance.
