To study the influence of blasting vibration on the broken rock zone around a seepage roadway and provide guidance for design of the roadway support, the broken rock zones around rock of seepage roadways under production blasting vibration are determined by onsite tests in a mining area, Daye iron mine. During the testing process, it is found that blasting vibration causes internal cracks of surrounding rocks to initiate and develop, the fracture density increases, the acoustic wave velocity of rock mass decreases, and the broken rock zones expand. At the same time, through onsite observation, it is found that blasting vibration results in crack development and formation of a water pathway to lead to surface water into the ground. The mechanical response around rock of the seepage roadway under blasting vibration is simulated by the two-dimensional realistic fracture progress analysis calculation software (RFPA2D). It is found that internal cracks of roadway surrounding rock initiate, propagate, and join up gradually, and the fracture range is expanding under the seepage water pressure, ground stress, and cyclic loads, and the broken rock zones also expand. The results from numerical simulation are consistent with the results of onsite tests. It is also found that the tensile stress appears around some cracks, leading to part of the cracks more likely to generate shear failure under the seepage water pressure during simulation.

Aiming at the generation of blasting fume in underground blind roadway, numerical simulation method was taken to obtain the diffusion law of the blasting fume. In accordance with the actual situation in Shachang mining area of Shouyun iron mine, the physical model and mathematical model were set up, computational grids were divided, and the boundary condition was established. The diffusion law of blasting fume and the completion time under different explosives dosage were simulated by Fluent. The laws of blasting fume diffusion and diffusion time changing with the amount of explosive in local fan forced ventilation were obtained. The results can provide a theoretical basis for the research of a reasonable and effective ventilation manner of blind roadway.

AbstractThe identification of open-pit mine water sources is of great significance in preventing water disasters. Combined with hydrochemistry and multivariate statistical analysis, this paper systematically analyzed the hydraulic connections between aquifers and the complex seepage water sources in the pit and roadway of Dagushan iron mine through qualitative analysis and quantitative calculation. According to the hydrochemical characteristics of the study area, the causes of seepage water at different positions in the mining area were reasonably explained. The results show that there is a possible hydraulic connection or similar source of water body between the bedrock fissure aquifer and the eluvium pore aquifer. The water seepage of 2# roadway mainly comes from bedrock fissure aquifer in the north of mining area. The reason for serious water seepage in the 3# roadway and the western side of the pit is that the fault connects the shallow alluvial pore aquifer and bedrock fissure aquifer. The source of water on the southern side pit comes from the river and groundwater on the southern side of the mine. The results presented here provide significant guidance for the management of mine water seepage problems.

This paper discusses a tunnel whose entrance region is the main engineering background. Based on tunnel geological exploration report, we make the model. By establishing model and using numerical simulation software SIGMA/W and COMSOL to simulate the distortion in seepage condition, we find as tunnel excavation goes on, the pore water pressure of tunnel changes and it leads to infiltration of water in the tunnel, and the deformation of soil increases. The ground surface may sink if the evacuation goes on without taking actions, which is not safe for the buildings around. In case of this situation, the pore pressure of the tunnel around should be controlled from decreasing too fast. The result from our model is just like the result by monitoring measurement. The result shows the feasibility of software modeling in the prediction of tunnel seepage situation.

In China, mining blasting vibration has seriously threatened the safety and stability of high and steep rock slopes. In this paper, taking the east mining area of Jianshan Phosphorus Mine as the research background, combined with field survey, field blasting test, numerical simulation and theoretical analysis, we systematically studied the adjacent high-steep rock slope and the layered blasting technology of complex ore. Based on wide hole spacing blasting numerical simulation and field tests, the use of 8 × 4 m hole network parameters, oblique line hole-by-hole initiation method, detonator delay using 35 ms between holes, 65 ms between rows and 500 ms within the holes, the rock mass rate was reduced and the drilling workload was decreased. In addition, regression analysis was carried out on a large amount of vibration test data, and the attenuation law and propagation law of blasting vibration of adjacent high and steep slopes were predicted, which provided a reference for mine production blasting. By establishing a mathematical model of cumulative damage of rock mass blasting, it shows that the depth of impact of mining blasting on the slope of Jianshan open-pit was 0–3.6m, but the blasting did not cause overall damage to the adjacent high and steep slopes. In the future, this model can be used to predict rock damage caused by subsequent blasting.

Reservoir landslide is a type of commonly seen geological hazards in reservoir area and could potentially cause significant risk to the routine operation of reservoir and hydropower station. It has been accepted that reservoir landslides are mainly induced by periodic variations of reservoir water level during the impoundment and drawdown process. In this study, to better understand the deformation characters and controlling factors of the reservoir landslide, a multiparameter-based monitoring program was conducted on a reservoir landslide—the Hongyanzi landslide located in Pubugou reservoir area in the southwest of China. The results indicated that significant deformation occurred to the landslide during the drawdown period; otherwise, the landslide remained stable. The major reason of reservoir landslide deformation is the generation of seepage water pressure caused by the rapidly growing water level difference inside and outside of the slope. The influences of precipitation and earthquake on the slope deformation of the Hongyanzi landslide were insignificant.

Affected by the coupling of excavation disturbance and ground stress, the heterogeneity of surrounding rock is very common. Presently, treating the permeability coefficient as a fixed value will reduce the prediction accuracy of the water inflow and the external water pressure of the structure, leading to distortion of the prediction results. Aiming at this problem, this paper calculates and analyzes tunnel water inflow when considering the heterogeneity of permeability coefficient of surrounding rock using a theoretical analysis method, and compares with field data, and verifies the rationality of the formula. The research shows that, when the influence of excavation disturbance and ground stress on the permeability coefficient of surrounding rock is ignored, the calculated value of the external water force of the tunnel structure is too small, and the durability and stability of the tunnel are reduced, which is detrimental to the safety of the structure. Considering the heterogeneity of surrounding rock, the calculation error of water inflow can be reduced from 27.3% to 13.2%, which improves the accuracy of water inflow prediction to a certain extent.

In order to study the deformation mechanism of soft rock roadway in underground mines, it is necessary not only to study the influence of the dynamic disturbance caused by the cyclic mining blasting vibration on the stability of the soft rock roadway but also to study the degradation of the roadway surrounding rock itself and other factors. The paper presented a synthetic research system to investigate the factors that influence roadway rock structure deterioration in Baoguo Iron Mine. Firstly, the stability of rock mass was analyzed from the perspective of the physical and structural characteristics of the rock mass. Afterwards, according to monitoring data of mining blasting vibration, a suitable safety blasting prediction model for Baoguo Iron Mine was determined. And then, combining the results of mining blasting vibration monitoring and deformation monitoring, the effect of cyclic mining blasting on the stability of the soft rock roadway was obtained. By systematically studying the intrinsic factors of rock quality degradation and external environmental disturbances and their interactions, this paper comprehensively explores the deformation mechanism of soft rock roadway and provides the support for fundamentally solving the large deformation problems of soft rock roadway in underground mines.
