Communicating mobile security threats and best practices has become a central objective due to the ongoing discovery of new vulnerabilities of mobile devices. To cope with this overarching issue, the goal of this paper is to identify and analyze existing threats and best practices in the domain of mobile security. To this extent, we conducted a literature review based on a set of keywords. The obtained results concern recognizable threats and established best practices in the domain of mobile security. Afterwards, this outcome was put forward for consideration by mobile application users (n = 167) via a survey instrument. To this end, the results show high awareness of the threats and their countermeasures in the domain of mobile applications. While recognizing the risks associated with physical and social factors, the majority of respondents declared the use of built-in methods to mitigate the negative impact of malicious software and social-engineering scams. The study results contribute to the theory on mobile security through the identification and exploration of a variety of issues, regarding both threats and best practices. Besides this, this bulk of up-to-date knowledge has practical value which reflects in its applicability at both the individual and enterprise level. Moreover, at this point, we argue that understanding the factors affecting users’ intentions and motivations to accept and use particular technologies is crucial to leverage the security of mobile applications. Therefore, future work will cover identifying and modeling users’ perceptions of the security and usability of mobile applications.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to identify workplace factors with an impact on lean performance (LP). This can lead to better LP outcomes, thus facilitating organizations to smoothly move from the conventional to lean management. Design/methodology/approach The direct effects of training, knowledge acquisition and organizational culture are empirically investigated using data from 126 managers employed at a global company, which recently has improved its LP. Study’s hypotheses were analyzed with hierarchical regression models. Findings The findings suggest that not all of the aforementioned workplace factors holistically affect LP. Only organizational culture is associated to the four LP variables (i.e. continuous improvement, waste, ergonomy and product quality). Training and knowledge acquisition offer partially effects on LP with training to contribute mostly to predicting continuous improvements. Knowledge acquisition alone, has significant yet negative impact on both continuous improvement and ergonomy. Even more, when training is combined with knowledge acquisition the results are different. Originality/value As this study highlights the impact of workplace practices on LP, attributes mainly importance to the distinct effects that each of the aforementioned factors has on the four distinct LP variables. Although the study results reflect a particular case, its recommendations could facilitate practitioners to achieve better lean outcomes.

The necessity of applying new directions of ergonomics to improve safety at work is considered. The relevance is conditioned by the awareness of the problem of limited natural resources and the negative impact of human activity on the environment. It led to the necessity of rethinking the concept "security" from the standpoint of sustainable development of society. Today, safety is the procuring of harmonious relations between human and the environment in all spheres of activity. In terms of occupational safety, new areas of ergonomics such as ergoecology, green ergonomics and eco-ergonomic designing can be useful in creating such balance. The work focuses on using eco-ergonomic designing principles in matters of ensuring industrial safety. Thus, the aim is the practical application of the eco-ergonomic designing principles to improve safety at working place. At researching the basic eco-ergonomic designing principle was applied - the search of an optimal combination of working conditions and technical procuring at the workplace, which would suit modern psychophysiological, social, engineering and ecological requirements. The prime tool of researching is a practical analysis of workplaces, an essential component of which is the assessment system. Based on the study results, problematic issues at workplaces got identified, and a search for their solutions got carried out. It is shown that using eco-ergonomic designing in matters of ensuring safety at the workplace makes it possible to implement the trinity necessary to maintain and preserve human health - eco-friendliness, comfort and safety. The work results: 1) for effective management of industrial safety it is necessary to make a transition from closed systems “man-machine-working environment” to open systems “man-machine-working environment-environment” through the application of the eco-ergonomic designing principles; 2) the method of eco-ergonomic assessment got proposed as the first step to a qualitative improvement in the interaction between humans and the environment; 3) modern engineers in eco-ergonomic designing should be trained in this area, taking into account the principles of human factor engineering. The practical significance of the results is in identifying problems in the functioning of the system "man-machine-working environment-environment" and determining effective measures to eliminate them. The results of its approbation proposed assessment system at the flexo printed product's enterprise confirm the effectiveness.

BACKGROUND The term amblyopia literally means dullness of vision. It is defined as unilateral or bilateral reduction of visual acuity due to pattern vision deprivation or abnormal binocular interaction for which no ocular causes can be detected by ocular examination and can be reversed by therapeutic measures. The study was undertaken to estimate the proportion of non-compliance and factors affecting it in children undergoing occlusion therapy for amblyopia. METHODS The study was designed as a hospital based cross sectional study. Children aged 5 - 12 years undergoing occlusion therapy for amblyopia due to strabismus, anisometropia or both, who had been prescribed occlusion for a period of minimum 3 months were included in the study. Children with developmental or neurological disorders and other ocular conditions causing visual impairment, whose parents were not willing to participate in the study or follow up, and uncooperative children were also excluded from the study. RESULTS 52.5 % were non-compliant to occlusion therapy, 31.1 % were partially compliant and only 16.4 % were compliant. 38.5 % had final visual acuity in the range of 6 / 60 - 6 / 24 and 6 / 18 – 6 / 12, 20 % had 6 / 9 - 6 / 6. Different variables were assessed against compliance to check for any association. Significant association was found between compliance to occlusion and socioeconomic status (p = .006), visual acuity at presentation (p = .026), type of amblyopia (p = .038) and final visual acuity (p < .01) and association with educational status were found to be borderline (p = .059). CONCLUSIONS Occlusion therapy for amblyopia is a long drawn process which needs strict compliance and regular follow up. Compliance is a major factor affecting final visual outcome. Poor compliance leads to unsuccessful amblyopia therapy which in turn can have negative impact on child’s learning ability and psychosocial wellbeing. For this reason it is critical that care givers leave the clinic with clear knowledge of how and why patching is being recommended and its importance in improving child’s vision. Low birth rates resulting a natural decline in population and changes in its age structure, have a negative impact on the increasing shortage of labor resources in all areas of the national economy. At the same time, studies on family planning and family life values by a number of authors show that the main restraining factors of childbearing are social ones caused by a high demand for vocational education. Purpose: to assess dynamics in birth rate and factors affecting its level. Material and methods. According to the purpose of the study, 1985 parturient women were interviewed. The survey results were supplemented with data obtained through the analysis of medical documentation (individual card of the pregnant and puerperal No. 111/y). The study also used materials of the state statistics for the period 2013-2018. The following indicators were calculated: general and age-specific fertility rates, as well as special (F) and total fertility rates (Fsum). Results. The study results show that changes in the age structure of women of the fertile age and decreased age-specific fertility rates have a greater impact on indicators of the total and overall fertility rates than increase in the number of women of reproductive age. A high share of firstborn children (57.5%) born to women aged over 25 indicates a postponement of childbearing to a later age and increase in the average age of primiparous. A high share of primiparous and first-time pregnant women (88.6% and 81.3%, respectively) with higher-than-secondary education in the overall structure of puerperal suggests influence of education on the decision to postpone childbearing. Conclusion. The postponement of childbearing is influenced by a complex of factors, mainly of a socio-economic nature, as evidenced by the sociological survey of puerperal. Development of appropriate socio-economic conditions during the period of education and formation of a young family, will contribute to changes in the fertility age pattern, which is confirmed by the analysis of the responses and suggestions received from the survey respondents.

This chapter identifies some of the main barriers and available supports that allow students with disabilities to participate in vocational rehabilitation (VR) transition programs. VR is a US federal program that attempts (as one of its goals) to introduce students with disabilities to employment experiences while they are still in school. The program uses access to paid internships and vocational counseling among several other components as key mechanisms to pursue its objectives. The chapter describes how the program is introduced from a best-practices perspective and proposes a conceptual model that highlights the individual, organizational, and contextual factors affecting employment outcomes for youth with disabilities. It also introduces the concept of entrepreneurship as another way to support the transition of high school youth with disabilities and discuss the implications of VR programs and supports on the employment outcomes of youth with disabilities.

The purpose and tasks of the work are to analyze the contemporary Ukrainian mass culture in terms of its value and humanistic components, as well as the importance of cultural studies and Ukrainian studies in educational disciplines for the formation of a holistic worldview of modern youth.Analysis of research and publications. Scientists repeatedly turned to the problems of the role of spirituality in the formation of society and its culture. This problem is highlighted in the publications by O. Losev, V. Lytvyn, D. Likhachev, S. Avierintsev, M. Zakovych, I. Stepanenko and E. Kostyshyn.Experts see the main negative impact of mass culture on the quality approach, which determines mass culture through the market, because mass culture, from our point of view, is everything that is sold and used in mass demand. One of the most interesting studies on this issue was the work by the representatives of Frankfurt School M. Horkheimer and T. Adorno «Dialectics of Enlightenment» (1947), devoted to a detailed analysis of mass culture. Propaganda at all socio-cultural levels in the form is similar in both totalitarian and democratic countries. It is connected, according to the authors, with the direction of European enlightenment. The tendency to unify people is a manifestation of the influence of mass culture, from cinema to pop. Mass culture is a phenomenon whose existence is associated with commerce (accumulation in any form – this is the main feature of education), in general, the fact that it exists in this form is related to the direction of the history of civilization.Modern mass culture, with its externally attractive and easily assimilated ideas and symbols, appealing to the trends of modern fashion, becomes a standard of prestigious consumption, does not require intense reflection, allows you to relax, distract, not teach, but entertains, preaches hedonism as the main spiritual value. And as a consequence, there are socio-cultural risks: an active rejection of other people, which leads to the formation of indifference; cruelty as a character trait; increase of violent and mercenary crime; increase in the number of alcohol and drug addicts; anti-patriotism; indifference to the values of the family and as a result of social orphanhood and prostitution. Conclusions, perspectives of research. Thus, we can conclude that modern Ukrainian education is predominantly formed by the values of mass culture. Namely, according to the «Dialectic» by Horkheimer and Adorno, «semi-enlightenment becomes an objective spirit» of our modern society. It is concluded that only high-quality education can create the opposite of the onset of mass culture and the destruction of spirituality in our society. It is proved that only by realizing the importance of cultivating disciplines in the educational process and the spiritual upbringing of the nation, through educational reforms, humanitarian knowledge will gradually return to student audiences.Formation of youth occurs under the influence of social environment, culture, education and self-education. The optimal combination of these factors determines both the process of socialization itself and how successful it will be. In this context, one can see the leading role of education and upbringing. It turns out that the main task of modern education is to spread its influence on the development of spiritual culture of the individual, which eventually becomes a solid foundation for the formation of the individual. Such a subject requires both philosophical and humanitarian approaches in further integrated interdisciplinary research, since the availability of such research will provide the theoretical foundation for truly modern educational and personal development.

The urgency of the researched problem is connected with the growing role of mass media in modern conditions leads to change of values and transformation of identity of the person. The active growth of the role of the media, their influence on the formation and development of personality leads to the concept of “media socialization” and immutation in the media. The aim of the study is to outline the possibilities of the process of media socialization in the context of immutation in the media. The methods of our research are: analysis of pedagogical, psychological, literature, synthesis, comparison, generalization. The article analyzes the views of domestic and foreign scientists on the problem of immutation in the media and the transformation of the information space. In the context of the mass nature of the immutation of society, the concept of “media socialization” becomes relevant, which is the basis for reducing the negative impact of the media on the individual. The author identifies the lack of a thorough study of the concept of “media socialization” in modern scientific thought. Thus, media socialization is associated with the transformation of traditional means of socialization, and is to assimilate and reproduce the social experience of mankind with the help of new media. The article analyzes the essence of the concepts “media space”, “mass media” and “immutation”. The influence of mass media on the formation and development of the modern personality is described in detail. The study concluded that it is necessary to form a media culture of the individual, to establish safe and effective interaction of young people with the modern media system, the formation of media awareness, media literacy and media competence in accordance with age and individual characteristics for successful media socialization. The role of state bodies in solving the problem of media socialization of the individual was also determined. It is determined that the process of formation of media culture in youth should take place at the level of traditional institutions of socialization of the individual. The author sees the prospect of further research in a detailed analysis and study of the potential of educational institutions as an institution and a means of counteracting the mass nature of the immutation of society.Key words: immutation, media socialization, mass media, media space, information.
