The purpose of this research is to inspect the mixed convection flow of Eyring-Powell nanofluid over a linearly stretching sheet through a porous medium with Cattaneo–Christov heat and mass flux model in the presence of Hall and ion slip, permeability, and Joule heating effects. Proper similarity transforms yield coupled nonlinear differential systems, which are solved using the spectral relaxation method (SRM). The story audits show that the present research problem has not been studied until this point. Efficiency of numerous parameters on velocity, temperature, and concentration curves is exposed graphically. Likewise, the numerical values of skin friction coefficients, local Nusselt, and Sherwood numbers are computed and tabulated for some physical parameters. It is manifested that fluid velocities, skin friction coefficients, local Nusselt, and Sherwood numbers promote with the larger values of Eyring-Powell fluid parameter ε. It is also noticed that primary velocity promotes with larger values of mixed convection parameter λ, Hall parameter βe, and ion slip parameter βi, while the opposite condition is observed for secondary velocity, temperature, and concentration. Furthermore, comparative surveys between the previously distributed writing and the current information are made for explicit cases, which are examined to be in a marvelous understanding.

The intention of the present study is to scrutinize the three-dimensional MHD mixed convection flow of Casson nanofluid over an exponentially stretching sheet using the impacts of Hall and ion slip currents. Moreover, the impacts of thermal radiation and heat source are considered in this study. The governing partial differential equations are transformed into a system of joined nonlinear ordinary differential equations using similarity transformations, and they are solved numerically employing a spectral relaxation method (SRM). The obtained results are contrasted with existing specific cases, and a reasonable harmony is established. The impacts of noteworthy physical parameters on the velocities, thermal and concentration distributions, skin friction coefficients, local Nusselt number, and local Sherwood number are investigated graphically. It is found that the rise in Casson fluid and magnetic field parameters reduce the velocity profiles along both x− and y− directions while the reverse tendency is observed with an increment in Hall, ion slip, and mixed convection parameters. Moreover, the increase in both radiation and heat source parameters enhances the temperature profile. It is also observed that both the skin friction coefficients reduced with an increase in Casson fluid, Hall, and ion slip parameters. Furthermore, the local Nusselt number enhances with an augment in radiation parameter, whereas the opposite trends of local Nusselt and Sherwood numbers are found with an increase in heat source parameter.

AbstractIn this study, the ignition characteristics and the flow properties of the mixed convection flow are presented. Detailed formulations of the forced, natural and mixed convection problems have been discussed. In order to avoid inconvenient switch between the forced and natural convection we introduce a continuous transformation in the mixed convection. We make a comparison between these situations which reveal a good agreement. For mixed convection flow, the ignition distance is explicitly expressed as a function of the Prandtl number, reaction parameter and wall temperature. It has been observed that owing to the increase of the aforesaid parameters, the thermal ignition distance is reduced. Numerical results are illustrated for velocity, temperature, and concentration for different physical parameters. Furthermore, the development of combustion is presented by using streamlines, isotherms and isolines of fuel and oxidizer.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to consider axisymmetric mixed convection flow of water over a sphere with variable viscosity and Prandtl number and an applied magnetic field. Design/methodology/approach The non-similar solutions have been obtained from the origin of the streamwise co-ordinate to the point of zero skin friction using quasilinearization technique with an implicit finite-difference scheme. Findings The effect of M is not notable on the temperature and heat transfer coefficient when λ is large. The skin friction coefficient and velocity profile are enhance with the increase of MHD parameter M when λ is small. Viscous dissipation has no significant on the skin friction coefficient under MHD effect. For M=1, the movement of the slot or slot suction or slot injection do not cause any effect on flow separation. The slot suction and the movement of the slot in downstream direction delay the point of zero skin friction for M=0. Originality/value The present results are original and new for water boundary-layer flow over sphere in mixed convection flow with MHD effect and non-uniform mass transfer. So this study would be useful in analysing the skin friction and heat transfer coefficient on sphere of mixed convection flow of water boundary layer with MHD effect.

Abstract The effects of thermal radiation and mass transfer on an unsteady hydromagnetic boundary layer mixed convection flow along a vertical porous stretching surface with heat generation are studied. The fluid is assumed to be viscous and incompressible. The governing partial differential equations are transformed into a system of ordinary differential equations using similarity variables. Numerical solutions of these equations are obtained by using the Runge-Kutta fourth order method along with the shooting technique. Velocity, temperature, concentration, the skin-friction coefficient, Nusselt number and Sherwood number for variations in the governing thermo physical parameters are computed, analyzed and discussed.

A boundary layer analysis is laid out for the steady, laminar, mixed convection flow past an isothermal vertical cone embedded in a porous medium filled with a nanofluid. The model used for the nanofluid is one which includes the effects of Brownian motion and thermophoresis. A parametric study is performed for different physical parameters, such as magnetic (M), cone angle (m), mixed convection (χ), Brownian motion (Nt), and thermophoresis (Nb), on the velocity, temperature, and nanoparticle concentration profiles. The local Nusselt, Sherwood, and nanoparticle Sherwood number have been laid out in a graphical way. The dependency of the rate of heat and mass transfer on the governing parameters has been discussed.

The main aim of this investigation is to study thermo diffusion, heat source/sink, Joule and chemical effects on heat transfer in MHD mixed convection flow and mass transfer past an infinite vertical plate with ohmic heating and viscous dissipation have been studied. We consider the mixed convection flow of an incompressible and electrically conducting viscous fluid such that x* -axis is taken along the plate in upward direction and y* -axis is normal to it. A transverse constant magnetic field is applied i.e., in the direction of y*-axis. Approximate solutions have been derived for velocity, temperature, concentration profiles, skin friction, rate of heat transfer and rate of mass transfer using perturbation technique. The obtained results are discussed with the help of graphs to observe the effect of various parameters like Grashof number (Gr), the modified Grashof number (Gm), magnetic parameter (M), Permeability parameter(K), Prandtl number (Pr), Heat Sink(Q), Radiation Parameter (F), Soret parameter (S0), Eckert number (E),Schmidt number(Sc) and Chemical reaction parameter(K0) taking two cases viz. Fluid velocity, temperature and concentration profiles are comparison with Pr=0.71(Air) and Pr =7 (Water) various parameters in cooled and heated plates. Case I: when Gr > 0 (flow on cooled plate), and Case II: Gr < 0, (flow on heated plate). Both the fluid velocity and concentration rising with the increment values of Soret parameter in the fluids Air and Water and also discussed skin friction, Nusselt number and Sherwood number in the fluid’s mercury, electrolytic solution, air and water. The novelty of this study is the consideration of simultaneous occurrence of radiation, heat absorption as well as thermo- diffusion in the magnetic field. It varies in several aspects such as non-dimensional parameters, analytical solutions, and graphical solutions, the analytic solution using the Perturbation technique, and numerical solution using Matlab software for the profile.
