Intense reddish-orange fluorescence of Eu3+ is observed in multiligand europium complexes Eu(BA)(TTA)2 and Eu(BA)(TTA)2Phen doped polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP). Under 367 nm UVA-LED pumping with 708.5 μW, the net emission powers are as high as 204.8 and 243.2 μW, and the total emission photon numbers are derived to be 635.9 × 1012 and 754.9 × 1012 cps for Eu(BA)(TTA)2 and Eu(BA)(TTA)2Phen doped PVP thin films, respectively. It is incredible that the quantum yield (QY) is up to 57.87% in the former; furthermore, as the introduction of Phen, the QY of Eu3+ is increased to 62.03%, verifying the effectiveness of multiligands in photon conversion. Conclusive photon quantification and efficient fluorescence emission reveal the potential of europium complexes/PVP as UV-visible conversion layers for enhanced solar cells.

CdSe quantum dots have been prepared with different sizes and exploited as inorganic dye to sensitize a wide bandgap TiO2thin films for QDs solar cells. The synthesis is based on the pyrolysis of organometallic reagents by injection into a hot coordinating solvent. This provides temporally discrete nucleation and permits controlled growth of macroscopic quantities of nanocrystallites. XRD, HRTEM, UV-visible, and PL were used to characterize the synthesized quantum dots. The results showed CdSe quantum dots with sizes ranging from 3 nm to 6 nm which enabled the control of the optical properties and consequently the solar cell performance. Solar cell of 0.08% performance under solar irradiation with a light intensity of 100 mW/cm2has been obtained. CdSe/TiO2solar cells without and with using mercaptopropionic acid (MPA) as a linker between CdSe and TiO2particles despite aVocof 428 mV,Jscof 0.184 mAcm-2, FF of 0.57, andηof 0.05% but with linker despite aVocof 543 mV,Jscof 0.318 mAcm-2, FF of 0.48, andηof 0.08%, respectively.

Tissue slices from the roots and seeds of sanifoin (Onobrychis viciifolia, Scop.) exhibit bright autofluorescence when illuminated with blue (495 nm) light. This autofluorescence is indistinguishable from the fluorescence emission of fluorescein, the commonly used fluorochrome in immunohistochemical staining procedures. Rhodamine isothiocyanate, when coupled to immunoglobulin, and excited with green light at 546 nm, exhibits a reddish-orange fluorescence with an emission maximum at 590 nm. Plant tissue has little or no autofluorescence when illuminated at this wavelength and viewed with a 580 nm barrier filter. Therefore, use of rhodamine for immunohistochemical localization in plant tissue avoids interpretative complications due to inherent autofluorescence.

AbstractThe outstanding performance of organic-inorganic metal trihalide solar cells benefits from the exceptional photo-physical properties of both electrons and holes in the material. Here, we directly probe the free-carrier dynamics in Cs-doped FAPbI3 thin films by spatiotemporal photoconductivity imaging. Using charge transport layers to selectively quench one type of carriers, we show that the two relaxation times on the order of 1 μs and 10 μs correspond to the lifetimes of electrons and holes in FACsPbI3, respectively. Strikingly, the diffusion mapping indicates that the difference in electron/hole lifetimes is largely compensated by their disparate mobility. Consequently, the long diffusion lengths (3~5 μm) of both carriers are comparable to each other, a feature closely related to the unique charge trapping and de-trapping processes in hybrid trihalide perovskites. Our results unveil the origin of superior diffusion dynamics in this material, crucially important for solar-cell applications.

Zinc nitride films were deposited by ion sources-assisted magnetron sputtering with the use of Zn target (99.99% purity) on 7059 glass substrates. The films were characterized by XRD, SEM and EDS, the results of which show that the polycrystalline zinc nitride thin film can be grown on the glass substrates, the EDS spectrum confirmed the chemical composition of the films and the SEM images revealed that the zinc nitride thin films have a dense structure. Ultraviolet-visible-near infrared spectrophotometer was used to study the transmittance behaviors of zinc nitride thin films, which calculated the optical band gap by Davis Mott model. The results of the fluorescence emission spectra show the zinc nitride would be a direct band gap semiconductor material.
