In this paper, a predator-prey system with pesticide dose-responded nonlinear pulse of Beddington–DeAngelis functional response is established. First, we construct the Poincaré map of the impulsive semidynamic system and discuss its main properties including the monotonicity, differentiability, fixed point, and asymptote. Second, we address the existence and globally asymptotic stability of the order-1 periodic solution and the sufficient conditions for the existence of the order-k(k ≥ 2) periodic solution. Thirdly, we give the threshold conditions for the existence and stability of boundary periodic solutions and present the parameter analysis. The results show that the pesticide dosage increases with the extension of the control period and decreases with the increase of the threshold. Besides, the state pulse feedback control can manage the pest population at a certain level and avoid excessive application of pesticides.

AbstractIn the present article, we propose and analyze a new mathematical model for a predator–prey system including the following terms: a Monod–Haldane functional response (a generalized Holling type IV), a term describing the anti-predator behavior of prey populations and one for an impulsive control strategy. In particular, we establish the existence condition under which the system has a locally asymptotically stable prey-eradication periodic solution. Violating such a condition, the system turns out to be permanent. Employing bifurcation theory, some conditions, under which the existence and stability of a positive periodic solution of the system occur but its prey-eradication periodic solution becomes unstable, are provided. Furthermore, numerical simulations for the proposed model are given to confirm the obtained theoretical results.

A new set of sufficient conditions for the permanence of a ratio-dependent predator-prey system with Holling type III functional response and feedback controls are obtained. The result shows that feedback control variables have no influence on the persistent property of the system, thus improving and supplementing the main result of Yang (2008).

With the help of a continuation theorem based on Gaines and Mawhin's coincidence degree, easily verifiable criteria are established for the global existence of positive periodic solutions of a delayed ratio-dependent predator-prey system with stage structure for predator. The approach involves some new technique of priori estimate. For the system without delay, by constructing a suitable Lyapunov function, some sufficient conditions which guarantee the existence of a unique global attractive positive periodic solution are obtained. Those results have further applications in population dynamics.

We obtain the sufficient conditions which guarantee existence of the positive periodic solution of the periodic system. Some new results obtained.

A new non-autonomous predator-prey system with the effect of viruses on the prey is investigated. By using the method of coincidence degree, some sufficient conditions are obtained for the existence of a positive periodic solution. Moreover, with the help of an appropriately chosen Lyapunov function, the global attractivity of the positive periodic solution is discussed. In the end, a numerical simulation is used to illustrate the feasibility of our results.

A Lotka-Volterra-type predator-prey system with state-dependent feedback control is investigated in both theoretical and numerical ways. Using the Poincaré map and the analogue of the Poincaré criterion, the sufficient conditions for the existence and stability of semitrivial periodic solutions and positive periodic solutions are obtained. In addition, we show that there is no positive periodic solution with period greater than and equal to three under some conditions. The qualitative analysis shows that the positive period-one solution bifurcates from the semitrivial solution through a fold bifurcation. Numerical simulations to substantiate our theoretical results are provided. Also, the bifurcation diagrams of solutions are illustrated by using the Poincaré map, and it is shown that the chaotic solutions take place via a cascade of period-doubling bifurcations.

This paper gives an application of Mawhin’s coincidence degree and matrix spectral theory to a predator-prey model withM-predators andN-preys. The method is different from that used in the previous work. Some new sufficient conditions are obtained for the existence and global asymptotic stability of the periodic solution. The existence and stability conditions are given in terms of spectral radius of explicit matrices which are much different from the conditions given by the algebraic inequalities. Finally, an example is given to show the feasibility of our results.

Considering the environmental effects, a Holling–Leslie predator-prey system with impulsive and stochastic disturbance is proposed in this paper. Firstly, we prove that existence of periodic solution, the mean time boundness of variables is found by integral inequality, and we establish some sufficient conditions assuring the existencle of periodic Markovian process. Secondly, for periodic impulsive differential equation and system, it is different from previous research methods, by defining three restrictive conditions, we study the extinction and permanence in the mean of all species. Thirdly, by stochastic analysis method, we investigate the stochastic permanence of the system. Finally, some numerical simulations are given to illustrate the main results.
