A unique secure communication scheme that can be used for the transmission of gray-scale and color videos is presented in this paper. The proposed scheme is developed by using the Karhunen-Loéve (K-L) decomposition and the synchronization of the unified chaotic system with the hyperchaotic Chen system. First, the gray-scale or color video is represented by a set of N frames. In order to reduce the data, the K-L decomposition is used to come up with data coefficients and eigenfunctions that optimally obtain the crux of the N frames. Using only the most energetic eigenfunctions to approximate the original frames results in computational savings. The data coefficients corresponding to the most energetic eigenfunctions are encrypted and transmitted using a master system composed of a combination of the unified chaotic system and the hyperchaotic Chen system. At the receiver end, these coefficients are recovered and a controller of the sliding mode type is utilized forcing the master and slave systems to synchronize. Simulation results illustrate how the proposed control law is able to synchronize the master and the slave systems. In addition, a demonstration of the recovery of the original frames using the decrypted data coefficients along with the eigenfunctions of the frame is provided. The presented simulations indicate that the proposed scheme results in an excellent performance.

A new fractional-order chaotic system is addressed in this paper. By applying the continuous frequency distribution theory, the indirect Lyapunov stability of this system is investigated based on sliding mode control technique. The adaptive laws are designed to guarantee the stability of the system with the uncertainty and external disturbance. Moreover, the modified generalized projection synchronization (MGPS) of the fractional-order chaotic systems is discussed based on the stability theory of fractional-order system, which may provide potential applications in secure communication. Finally, some numerical simulations are presented to show the effectiveness of the theoretical results.

Aiming at the abrupt faults of the chaotic system, an adaptive observer is proposed to trace the states of the master system. The sufficient conditions for synchronization of such chaotic systems are also derived. Then the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method are illustrated via numerical simulations of chaotic Chen system. Finally, the proposed synchronization schemes are applied to secure communication system successfully. The experimental results demonstrate that the employed observer can manage real-time fault diagnosis and parameter identification as well as states tracing of the master system, and so the synchronization of master system and slave system is achieved.

In this paper, a simple and systematic adaptive feedback method for achieving lag projective stochastic perturbed synchronization of a new four-wing chaotic system with unknown parameters is presented. Moreover, a secure communication scheme based on the adaptive feedback lag projective synchronization of the new chaotic systems with stochastic perturbation and unknown parameters is presented. The simulation results show the feasibility of the proposed method.

In this paper, a simple four-wing chaotic attractor is first proposed by replacing the constant parameters of the Chen system with a periodic piecewise function. Then, a new 4D four-wing memristive hyperchaotic system is presented by adding a flux-controlled memristor with linear memductance into the proposed four-wing Chen system. The memristor mathematical structure model is simple and easy to implement. Dynamical analysis and numerical simulation of the memristive hyperchaotic system are carried out. Then, the electronic circuit of the hyperchaotic system is designed and implemented. The results of numerical simulation are in good agreement with the electronic circuit experiment. In addition, shape synchronization control for the 4D four-wing memristive hyperchaotic system is realized, and a communication system is designed by using the shape synchronization method. Finally, secure signal masking application is implemented on Matlab platform. In the developed secure communication scheme, the information signal overlaps with the chaotic masking signal, which improves the security of the system.
