Cutaneous ciliated cyst is defined as a rare, painless lesion frequently encountered on the lower extremities of young girls after puberty. The cyst is surrounded by the columnar ciliary epithelium. Apart from the lower extremities of girls, they may be localized on the scalp, scapula, thumb, abdomen, umbilicus, thigh, heel, knee, and gluteal region. There are two theories to explain this localization. The first is that they are mullerian heterotrophy, while the other is that they are ciliated metaplasia of eccrine glands. In this paper, we described a cutaneous ciliated cyst, which was observed with a previously undescribed localization on the back of a 13-year-old female patient.

Objectives. Psoriasis makes a relative contraindication for lithium treatment which can exacerbate its symptoms or induce it itself. On the other hand, lithium exerts immuno-modulatory activity. Case study. In this paper, a case of a female patient is presented. The patient has been treated since 2012 for bipolar affective illness (bipolar disorder – BD) and psoriasis, which occurred for the first time during a depressive episode. Despite intensive pharmacological treatment, both as inpatient and outpatient, a satisfactory improvement of affective illness has not been obtained. After the introduction of lithium, a remission of BD was achieved as well as a reduction of psoriatic changes, which have been maintained until now (2021). Conclusion. The remission of Bipolar Disorder (BD) on lithium can suggest that the patient belongs to the group of the so-called excellent lithium responders. In the presented case remission of psoriasis was observed during lithium treatment. This case report must be treated with caution because remission could be spontaneous and the patient needs further observation.

SummaryThe case of a 39-year old female patient, presenting a painful, well-vascularized tumour located in the subcutaneous tissue of the right calf, is reported. Due to the painfulness and tumour size progression an excision with primary wound closure (by buried sutures) was performed. The tumour showed histological features characteristic for an angioleiomyoma. Particularly middle-aged women are affected by an angioleiomyoma which represents a benign, mesenchymal tumour mostly located on the lower extremities. Differential diagnosis in painful tumours of the skin should include this entity. Because of the painfulness of the tumour primary excision is mostly recommended. In the majority of cases the diagnosis is made histologically.

Dr. D. H. Matveev and engineer N. I. Pautkin. - "Mathematical definition of the approach to the antrum of the mastoid process." The outer surface of the temporal bone with the plane applied to it is always in contact at three points. One of the points lies on the zygomatic process, the other on the temporal line and the third on the most prominent part of the mastoid process. These points define a triangle called the temporal. The results of measurements of more than 50 bone preparations give the right to state the following position: the antrum of the mastoid process is in the direction of the perpendicular restored to the plane of the temporal triangle at the point of intersection of its bisectors. On the available preparations (including those with an unusual location of the antrum), the indicated perpendicular enters the temporal bone in the area of the spina suprameatum Henle and approaches the antrum. In addition, being guided by the found position, an operation was performed on 40 bones. In all cases (including those with an unusual location of the antrum), they inevitably fell into the antrum without any complications in terms of damage to adjacent parts. Based on the studies performed, the following conclusion can be made: 1. The proposed approach to the antrum using the temporal triangle is expedient due to its accuracy, safety in relation to complications and the shortest length of its path. 2. The found dependence of the location of the antrum on the external parts of the temporal bone makes it possible to navigate during antrotomy according to mathematical "data". 3. The mathematical definition of the approach to the antrum raises the question of the practical use of this definition in antrotomy. - Drs. BS Goland, BN Lebedevsky, NK Trutnev, SP Yakhontov took part in the debate and prof. V.K. Trutnev.

AbstractThe presence of a right ventricle mass is uncommon, especially if there is no associated mass in the other chambers of the heart. Right ventricle mass is usually due to thrombi or vegetations; however, a variety of tumors may also present similarly. The authors report the presence of an isolated right ventricle mass in a young female patient and the intraoperative use of transesophageal echocardiography in diagnostic dilemma. Echocardiography helps in assessing the characteristics of the mass, such as the size, shape, attachment points, and composition, and continues to remain an invaluable tool for guiding both the anesthetic and the surgical management of the case.

Epidermolytic ichthyosis is a rare autosomal dominant disease that manifests at birth with fragile blisters and erosions that evolve into hyperkeratotic lesions associated or not with erythroderma. When the disease is associated with a mutation in cytokeratin 1, it may be related to hyperkeratosis of palms and soles, but this is not usually found when cytokeratin 10 is mutated. The disease can present in a mosaic form, due to post zygotic mutation of the gene involved, constituting an individual formed by two populations of genetically distinct cells - one carrier of the mutation and the other without it. We report a case of mosaic epidermolytic ichthyosis diagnosed in a female patient.

He observes that the character of women is altered during pregnancy, and often in a pathological direction. He is of opinion that it has a favourable influence in hysteria when it is not complicated with some other affection of the nervous system. Marriage not only satisfies the sexual instinct, but it gives them some one on whom they can expend their tender feelings, and gains for them some one who will care for them and protect them. “I have known,” he says, “and treated several very hysterical young girls who are now married, and show no trace of nervous disease. Some of them have no longer the desire to satisfy the sexual feeling, and are averse to such intercourse, although they love their husbands and live happily with them. The physician need not hesitate to recommend hysterical women to marry if the other party have a healthy constitution, and is free from predisposition to nervous disease. On the other hand, he should never advise a woman to marry who has come through a severe attack of insanity, not only on account of the danger to the children, but because of the danger of relapse, often in an aggravated form.”

This article seeks to deepen, on the one hand, into the development of new marketing strategies using TV as platform and aimed at promoting consumption among young girls. We will first look into the case of such companies as Disney, which have re-released public leading characters of all-time stories for the infant female public with great commercial success, now united as a generic sisterhood of «princesses». On the other hand, we will also study other characters that television and other AV outlets have made known and the elements offered in this kind of products geared towards reinforcing consumption by means of promoting sexual and cultural stereotypes.

Perforating necrobiosis lipoidica is a very rare clinical variant which consists of degeneration and transepidermal elimination of the collagen with few cases reported in the literature. In two-thirds of the patients it associates with diabetes, with no relation with the glucose control. We present a 42-year-old female patient with a 7-year history of diabetes on insulin therapy, referred to our clinic with a 3-year history of multiple asymptomatic firm plaques disseminated on the upper and lower extremities. The clinical and histological findings proved the diagnosis of perforating necrobiosis lipoidica.

Religious burial structures as places of family memory and religious commemorative practices in interfaith families are of great research interest in the modern science, and it makes the topic of the research actual. The aim of the research is to review the phenomenon of building the glasshouse burial chapels and to find regularities connected to it. The research is based upon the study of sources such as descriptions and images of architectural objects, memoirs and journal articles. The research methods of ethnology and anthropology are implied to the material. There are two glasshouse burial chapels known in 19th century Russia – of Princes of Oldenburg in Holy Trinity-St. Sergius monastery near St. Petersburg and of Counts Keller in Sennitsy manor of Moscow province. Both aristocratic families were of Lutheran origins and became interfaith due to conversion of some their members to Orthodoxy. In both cases the construction of the chapels is connected with the burials of young girls. The buildings seemed to cause no contemporaries’ astonishment. The analysis shows that creation of such burial places is unique because of combination of traditional conceptions connecting tree and burial with prestigious burial inside a chapel, enabling to surmount confessional borders and bounds of dynastic status. All the other examples of burials connected with plants closer than the generic presence of plants in cemeteries, are somehow opposed to Christianity.
