This paper is concerned with disturbance observer-based input-output finite-time control of a class of nonlinear systems with one-sided Lipschitz condition, as well as multiple disturbances. Firstly, a disturbance observer is constructed to estimate the disturbance generated by an exogenous system. Secondly, by integrating the estimation of disturbance with a classical state feedback control law, a composite control law is designed and sufficient conditions for input-output finite-time stability (IO-FTS) of the closed-loop system are attained. Such conditions can be converted into linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Finally, two examples are given to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

In this paper, the problem of L1 input-output finite-time control of positive switched nonlinear systems with time-varying and distributed delays is investigated. Nonlinear functions considered in this paper are located in a sector field. Firstly, the proof of the positivity of switched positive nonlinear systems with time-varying and distributed delays is given, and the concept of L1 input-output finite-time stability (L1 IO-FTS) is firstly introduced. Then, by constructing multiple co-positive-type nonlinear Lyapunov functions and using the average dwell time (ADT) approach, a state feedback controller is designed and sufficient conditions are derived to guarantee the corresponding closed-loop system is L1 IO-FTS. Such conditions can be easily solved by linear programming. Finally, a numerical example is provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

In this manuscript, we consider the finite-time H ∞ control for nonlinear systems with time-varying delay. With the assistance of a novel Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional which includes some integral terms, a matrix-based on quadratic convex approach, combined with Wirtinger inequalities and some useful integral inequalities, a sufficient condition of finite-time boundedness is established. A novel feature presents in this paper is that the restriction which is necessary for the upper bound derivative is not restricted to less than 1. Further a H ∞ controller is designed via memoryless state feedback control and a new sufficient conditions for the existence of finite-time H ∞ state feedback for the system are given in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). At the end, some numerical examples with simulations are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the obtained result.

An observer-based finite-time L2-L∞ control law is devised for a class of positive Markov jump systems in a complex environment. The complex environment parameters include bounded uncertainties, unknown nonlinearities, and external disturbances. The objective is to devise an appropriate observer-based control law that makes the corresponding augment error dynamic Markov jump systems be positive and finite-time stabilizable and satisfy the given L2-L∞ disturbance attenuation index. A sufficient condition is initially established on the existence of the observer-based finite-time controller by using proper stochastic Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional. The design criteria are presented by means of linear matrix inequalities. Finally, the feasibility and validity of the main results can be illustrated through a numerical example.

Abstract This paper considers the guaranteed cost finite-time boundedness of positive switched nonlinear systems with D-perturbation and time-varying delay. Firstly, the definition of guaranteed cost finite-time boundedness is introduced. By using the Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional and average dwell time (ADT) approach, an output feedback controller is designed and sufficient conditions are obtained to ensure the corresponding closed-loop systems to be guaranteed cost finite-time boundedness (GCFTB). Such conditions can be solved by linear programming. Finally, two examples are provided to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

This paper investigates robust finite-timeH∞control for a class of impulsive switched nonlinear systems with time-delay. Firstly, using piecewise Lyapunov function, sufficient conditions ensuring finite-time boundedness of the impulsive switched system are derived. Then, finite-timeH∞performance analysis for impulsive switched systems is developed, and a robust finite-timeH∞state feedback controller is proposed to guarantee that the resulting closed-loop system is finite-time bounded withH∞disturbance attenuation. All the results are given in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Finally, two numerical examples are provided to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

This paper deals with the problem of resilient finite-time control for a class of stochastic nonlinear systems. The notion of finite-time annular domain stability of stochastic nonlinear systems is first introduced. Then, some sufficient conditions are given for the existence of resilient state feedback finite-time annular domain stabilizing controller, which are expressed in terms of matrix inequalities. A double-parameter searching algorithm is proposed to solve these obtained matrix inequalities. Finally, an example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the developed method.

This paper considers the guaranteed cost finite-time control for positive switched linear systems with time-varying delays. The definition of guaranteed cost finite-time boundedness is firstly given. Then, by using the mode-dependent average dwell time approach, a static output feedback law and a state feedback control law are constructed, respectively, and sufficient conditions are obtained to guarantee that the closed-loop system is guaranteed cost finite-time boundedness. Such conditions can be easily solved by linear programming. Finally, an example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

The guaranteed cost finite-time control problem of large-scale singular systems subjected to interconnected state delays is addressed in this article. A singular value decomposition approach combining with the Lyapunov function method is proposed to study the problem. Based on the method, delay-dependent sufficient conditions are established to design guaranteed cost controllers, which are presented in terms of tractable linear matrix inequalities. An example with simulation is given to demonstrate the validity and effectiveness of the theoretical results.

This article addresses the finite-time control problem for a class of switched linear parameter-varying systems via an event-triggered communication scheme. Different from the existing finite-time problems, not only the problem of finite-time boundedness but also the problem of input-output finite-time stability is considered in this article. Using an asynchronous switching scheme, sufficient conditions are established to guarantee the event-based closed-loop systems are both finite-time bounded and input-output finite-time stable. Then, a parameter-dependent asynchronous controller is designed by solving a set of linear matrix inequalities. Finally, a numerical example is presented to show the effectiveness of the result.

For advanced control applications, research into the use of linear matrix inequalities has yielded a notable amount of work in the area of nonlinear systems. Linear Matrix Inequalities can be formed through the application of desired performance criteria to a general system. By proper selection of a Lyapunov energy function, sufficient conditions to satisfy the performance objectives can be realized. The performance criteria, typically chosen for the application, define the objectives associated with the control. This work presents a control method for discrete-time systems with finite-time boundedness and H∞ performance criteria. The design of the controller corresponds to a system existing with bounded model uncertainties, and in the presence of L2 type external disturbances. Through the use of a linear state feedback control, sufficient conditions which guarantee the finite-time stability and H∞ performance objectives are achieved via the solution of a Linear Matrix Inequality. MATLAB application and simulation is carried out using the field oriented control of a permanent magnet synchronous generator in order to effectively demonstrate the effectiveness of this control strategy in the wind energy conversion system application.
