This paper is concerned with finite-time extended dissipative analysis and nonfragile control for a class of uncertain switched neutral systems with time delay, and the controller is assumed to have either additive or multiplicative form. By employing the average dwell-time and linear matrix inequality technique, sufficient conditions for finite-time boundedness of the switched neutral system are provided. Then finite-time extended dissipative performance for the switched neutral system is addressed, where we can solve H∞, L2-L∞, Passivity, and (Q,S,R)-dissipativity performance in a unified framework based on the concept of extended dissipative. Furthermore, nonfragile state feedback controllers are proposed to guarantee that the closed-loop system is finite-time bounded with extended dissipative performance. Finally, numerical examples are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Abstract This paper focuses on finite-time boundedness (FTB) of a class of switched non-linear neutral systems in the presence of multiple disturbances. Based on Lyapunov analysis, Finsler’s lemma and the average dwell-time concept, sufficient conditions are extracted to guarantee the FTB of the system. Using these sufficient conditions, finite-time ${H}_{\infty }$ controllers are designed via state feedback and static output feedback structures. The proposed controllers are less conservative than the existing Lyapunov-based approach and there are many degrees of freedom to achieve feasible linear matrix inequalities. Finally, two examples are simulated to validate the proposed approach and to show that the obtained theoretical results are less conservative than the existing papers.

Finite-time stability and finite-time boundedness of fractional order switched systems with [Formula: see text] are investigated in this paper. First of all, by employing the average dwell time technique and Lyapunov functional method, some sufficient conditions for finite-time stability and finite-time boundedness of fractional order switched systems are proposed. Furthermore, the state feedback controllers are constructed, and sufficient conditions are given to ensure that the corresponding closed-loop systems are finite-time stable and finite-time bounded. These conditions can be easily obtained in terms of linear matrix inequalities. Finally, two numerical examples are given to show the effectiveness of the results.

Finite-time stability has more practical application values than the classical Lyapunov asymptotic stability over a fixed finite-time interval. The problems of finite-time stability and finite-time boundedness for a class of continuous switched descriptor systems are considered in this paper. Based on the average dwell time approach and the multiple Lyapunov functions technique, the concepts of finite-time stability and boundedness are extended to continuous switched descriptor systems. In addition, sufficient conditions for the existence of state feedback controllers in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) are obtained with arbitrary switching rules, which guarantee that the switched descriptor system is finite-time stable and finite-time bounded, respectively. Finally, two numerical examples are presented to illustrate the reasonableness and effectiveness of the proposed results.

This paper is concerned with the problem of finite-time H∞ resilient filtering for a class of switch systems. The filtering error dynamics is constructed based on the H∞ resilient filter. The objective is to design a filter such that the finite-time H∞ gain from the unknown input to an estimation error is minimized or guaranteed to be less than or equal to a prescribed value. By selecting the proper multiple Lyapunov function and using the average dwell-time approach, sufficient conditions are obtained for the existence of the desired H∞ resilient filter, which also guarantee the finite-time boundedness of the filtering error dynamic systems. The design criteria are proposed in the form of linear matrix inequalities and then described as an optimization algorithm. Finally, a numerical example is employed to illustrate the effectiveness of the developed techniques.

This paper considers the problem of guaranteed cost and finite-time event-triggered control of fractional-order switched systems. Firstly, an event-triggered scheme including both the information of current state and an exponential decay function is proposed, and a novel cost function that adopts the characteristics of fractional-order integration is presented. Secondly, some sufficient conditions are derived to guarantee that the corresponding closed-loop system is finite-time stable with a certain cost upper bound, using multiple Lyapunov functions and average dwell time approach. Meanwhile, the event-triggered parameters and state feedback gains are simultaneously obtained via solving linear matrix inequalities. Moreover, Zeno behavior does not exist by finding a positive lower bound of the triggered interval. Finally, an example about fractional-order switched electrical circuit is provided to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Abstract This paper considers the guaranteed cost finite-time boundedness of positive switched nonlinear systems with D-perturbation and time-varying delay. Firstly, the definition of guaranteed cost finite-time boundedness is introduced. By using the Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional and average dwell time (ADT) approach, an output feedback controller is designed and sufficient conditions are obtained to ensure the corresponding closed-loop systems to be guaranteed cost finite-time boundedness (GCFTB). Such conditions can be solved by linear programming. Finally, two examples are provided to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

In this work, interval time-delay switched systems having completely unstable and mixed stable matrices of the state vector are considered. An observer-based controller is designed for finite-time boundedness and H∞-control of these systems. New sufficient conditions on the existence of a desired observer are developed and new average dwell-time bounds are introduced separately in case of unstable and mixed stable subsystems. An algorithm is presented for the calculation of unknown constants in the average dwell-time bounds which depend on nonlinear matrices in terms of the cone complementarity linearization method. Finally, numerical examples are given for the effectiveness and validity of the proposed solutions.

This paper investigates robust finite-timeH∞control for a class of impulsive switched nonlinear systems with time-delay. Firstly, using piecewise Lyapunov function, sufficient conditions ensuring finite-time boundedness of the impulsive switched system are derived. Then, finite-timeH∞performance analysis for impulsive switched systems is developed, and a robust finite-timeH∞state feedback controller is proposed to guarantee that the resulting closed-loop system is finite-time bounded withH∞disturbance attenuation. All the results are given in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Finally, two numerical examples are provided to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

This paper considers the guaranteed cost finite-time control for positive switched linear systems with time-varying delays. The definition of guaranteed cost finite-time boundedness is firstly given. Then, by using the mode-dependent average dwell time approach, a static output feedback law and a state feedback control law are constructed, respectively, and sufficient conditions are obtained to guarantee that the closed-loop system is guaranteed cost finite-time boundedness. Such conditions can be easily solved by linear programming. Finally, an example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
