Nowadays, the increasing demand for telemedicine services has raised interest in the real-time medical image protection literatures. In this paper, we evaluate the security of an efficient and secure medical image protection scheme recently proposed (Fu et al., 2013). It is found that this scheme can be successfully broken by launching chosen-plaintext attacks. Improvement is subsequently developed for promoting the security and efficiency performance. Extensive security analyses and experimental results both indicate that the improved scheme can well address the security flaws and advance the speed performance of the original one.

In order to make the real time database more suitable for the computing features, this article points to the distributed and parallel real time database design and architecture. First, a mapping table from table file to machine nodes is established, and then can use meta-data management system to store and manage the mapping table to meet the characteristics of high concurrent access. The whole network computation can access the unified interface provided by the real-time database, retrive data from each node, then collect the data. Experimental results show that this study and the systems designed can meet the computing requirements of a unified whole network.

In recent years, great concerns have been raised regarding the issue of digital image protection due to the increasing demand for security services. To meet this challenge, a novel chaos-based approach is suggested in this paper. To address the security and efficiency problems encountered by many existing permutation-diffusion type image ciphers the new scheme utilizes Aizawa chaotic map which enhances the security against known/chosen –plaintext attack. Experimental tests were carried out and the results indicate that the proposed scheme provides an effective and efficient way for real-time secure digital image transmission over unsecured networks.

This paper presents our work regarding two different applications that use the electromyography sensors incorporated in the Thalmic Labs Myo Armband. The first application is about the HumanMachine Interface (HMI) for controlling an industrial robot bycreating the environment for the user to control a robot’s gripper position just by moving his arm. The second application refers to the real time control of a tracked mobile robot that is built with the Arduino development board. For each application thesystem design and the experimental results are presented.

In order to improve the accuracy and real-time performance of webpage filtering, a sensitive webpage filter based on multiple filtering was designed. Firstly, the URL is gained from IE browser’s address bar by BHO technology; Secondly, match the webpage text with sensitive vocabulary database using SMA algorithm; Finally, use the sensitive image detecting algorithm combing face detection, skin detection, skin text detection and classification to filter sensitive images in the webpage. The Simulation experimental results showed that the sensitive webpage filter can effectively intercept and filter sensitive webpages, meeting the accuracy and the real-time requirement of webpage filtering.

Quadcopters have many applications and an efficient controller is needed for reference tracking and to maintain vehicle stability. Quadcopter tests may require expensive laboratory setup to include certain conditions such as wind, with adequate control and monitoring. In this paper a bench markmodel of quadcopter is implemented in Hardware-In-the-Loop, in order to test the quadcopter controller considering different conditions of wind. For experimental results, an LQT controller has been implemented in a DSP, while the quadcopter was implemented in the real-time simulator Typhoon HIL.

In order to improve the real-time and flexible of FIR digital filter, a reconfigurable FIR filter system based on FPGA is designed. According to the filter specialties, the filter coefficients are calculated by the computer. And the configured coefficients of the multistage FIR filter are downloaded to the chip. The filtering computing is completed by the FPGA. The filtered data is transmitted to the computer through the USB2.0 interface for further processing, such as displaying, analyzing and storing. The states conversion between coefficients configuring mode and filtering mode is finished by FSM (Finite State Machine), which ensures the system to work orderly. The experimental results demonstrated that the coefficients configuring of the system is easy, which can adjust the filter coefficients flexibly according to the actual demand, and the filter is effective, that it can effectively filter out the noise signals.
