The flocking control of multiagent system is a new type of decentralized control method, which has aroused great attention. The paper includes a detailed research in terms of distance constrained based adaptive flocking control for multiagent system with time delay. Firstly, the program on the adaptive flocking with time delay of multiagent is proposed. Secondly, a kind of adaptive controllers and updating laws are presented. According to the Lyapunov stability theory, it is proved that the distance between agents can be larger than a constant during the motion evolution. What is more, velocities of each agent come to the same asymptotically. Finally, the analytical results can be verified by a numerical example.

The analysis of a problem of development of control systems for objects with big time delay is carried out in this work. For such objects it is difficult to provide high-quality control, because the control is carried on the last status of object’s output. The main setup methods of PID regulators have been examined. Based on this analysis the technique of complete synthesis of the regulator of higher level is given in order to regulate building’s heating system. This work offers a new method of object’s control with distributed delay. As the test bed for the offered structure of control the valve of hot water supply in a heat-node is used. Using the test bed the stability of the system with time delay have been studied, which is controlled by the PID-regulator assisted by Smith Predictor used to compensate the dead time.

This paper is concerned with the non-fragile decentralized controller design problem for uncertain singular large-scale system with time-delay. Sufficient condition for the controller is expressed in terms of linear matrix inequalities(LMIs). When this condition is feasible, the desired controller can be obtained with additive gain perturbations and multiplicative gain perturbations. Finally, a numerical example is also given to illustrate the effectiveness.

The problems of full-state hybrid projective synchronization (FSHPS) and inverse full-state hybrid projective synchronization (IFSHPS) for general discrete chaotic systems are investigated in 2D. Based on nonlinear control method and Lyapunov stability theory, new controllers are designed to study FSHPS and IFSHPS, respectively, for 2D arbitrary chaotic systems in discrete-time. Numerical example and simulations are used to validate the main results of this paper.

The network disturbance effect can be considered as either a perturbation or as a pure time delay for the exchanged signals. The network-induced time delay is one of the main challenges when a network is inserted in the feedback loops of a control system. In this paper, our objective is to improve the behavior of a Networked Control System (NCS) by analyzing the time-delay given that the decentralized control design method is adopted. First, we review an observer-based control method for decentralized control systems. Second, we establish a map between the decentralized non-networked system, and the typical NCS state-space representation. The main idea the mapping is to put the Decentralized Networked Control System (DNCS) in a general form and then map the resulting system to the typical NCS form. Third, we derive the global dynamics of the DNCS. Fourth, an upper bound for the time-delay is derived that guarantees the stability of LTI DNCSs. Finally, we present a numerical example that illustrates the applicability of the derived bound.

A decentralized control strategy can effectively solve the control problem of the large-scale time delayed structures. In this paper, combining the overlapping decentralized control method, linear matrix inequality (LMI) method, and H∞ control algorithm, overlapping decentralized H∞ control approach of the time delayed structures has been established. The feedback gain matrixes of all subsystems are obtained by this method based on genetic algorithm optimization tools and the specific goal of optimization control. The whole vibration control system of the time delayed structures is divided into a series of overlapping subsystems by overlapping decentralized control strategy. The feedback gain matrixes of each subsystem can be obtained by using H∞ control algorithm to calculate each subsystem. The vibration control of a twenty layers’ antiseismic steel structure Benchmark model was analyzed with the numerical method. The results show that the proposed method can be applied to control system with time delay. The overlapping decentralized control strategies acquire the similar control effects with that of the centralized control strategy. Moreover, the flexibility of the controller design has been enhanced by using overlapping decentralized control strategies.

The robust synchronization of hyperchaotic systems with uncertainties and external disturbances is investigated. Based on the Lyapunov stability theory, the appropriate adaptive controllers and parameter update laws are designed to achieve the synchronization of uncertain hyperchaotic systems. The robust synchronization of two hyperchaotic Chen systems is taken as an example to verify the feasibility of the presented schemes. The size of the subcontroller gain’s influences on the convergence speed is discussed. Finally, numerical simulations are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed synchronization schemes.

Motivated by the quorum-sensing mechanism of bacteria, this paper modifies the network model by adding unknown parameters and noise disturbances and investigates the problem of outer synchronization via adaptive control. In case there exist three unknown parameters, updating laws are presented to identify the unknown parameters with help of Lyapunov stability theory, and the negative effects of noise disturbances are also compensated by designing adaptive controllers. In addition, we simplify the obtained conditions and carry out two succinct and utilitarian corollaries. Finally, numerical simulations are provided to show the validity of the obtained results.

In this paper, a new type of controller based on the combined integrating systems is proposed, which is called a combined integrating controller. The controller’s current output is determined only by the current input and the average value of the controller’s previous output. The innovation is to introduce a time-delay positive feedback in the controller. The memory characteristics of the time-delay term keep accumulating error information and repeatedly learning so that the system can stably track and restrain any input signal without error. Simultaneously, the combined integrating controller is applied to conventional process systems based on dynamic optimization estimation in the case study to show absolute superiority over the nonpredictive control method (such as the classical PID control method).

This paper considers the sliding mode control of multiagent systems (MAS) with time-delay and uncertainties in terms of linear matrix inequality (LMI). By constructing virtual feedback control method, the design of control system is simplified for time-delay independent system without uncertainties. For a class of uncertain systems with single time-delay, the essence of SMC design is analyzed in order to acquire a simple method for designing sliding surface. In terms of multiple timedelay system with uncertainties, a sufficient condition for sliding surface with independent time-delay is acquired, while control law is also designed to ensure the robust stability of closed-loop system. Finally, the effectiveness of conclusion is demonstrated by simulation results.
