Aims.This study assesses the impact of using an AP-system at home on fear of hypoglycaemia. In addition, satisfaction and acceptance of the new technology are evaluated.Methods.In a multicentre, multinational study of 75 patients using the MD-Logic AP during four consecutive nights in home setting 59 of them (aged 10–54 years, 54% male, HbA1c 7.89 ± 0.69% [62.72 ± 7.51 mmol/mol], diabetes duration 11.6 ± 8.4 yrs) answered standardized questionnaires (HFS, adapted TAM, and AP satisfaction) before and after using the AP.Results.After experiencing the AP in home setting worries of hypoglycaemia were significantly reduced (before 1.04 ± 0.53 versus after 0.90 ± 0.63;P=0.017). Perceived ease of use as a measure of acceptance with the AP significantly increased after personal experience (before 4.64 ± 0.94 versus after 5.06 ± 1.09;P=0.002). The overall satisfaction mean score after using the AP was 3.02 ± 0.54 (range 0–4), demonstrating a high level of satisfaction with this technology.Conclusions.The four-night home-based experience of using MD Logic AP was associated with reduced worries of hypoglycaemia, high level of satisfaction, and increased perceived ease of use of the new technology in children, adolescents, and adults.

<p>This study chronicled a process of schoolwide planning for teacher aide supports in a New Zealand primary school. The process replicated the work of Giangreco, Edelman and Broer and followed the guidelines set out in their work - A Guide to Schoolwide Planning for Paraeducator Supports (Giangreco, Edelman, & Broer, 2001a). Data reflect the utilisation and outcomes of the process by school personnel and by the voluntary school team, which was made up of representatives from all adult constituencies of the school community, that is, management, teachers, teacher aides and parents. Results indicated that the process assisted the school and the team in self assessing their teacher aide practices, identifying priorities in need of improvement and developing action plans. Some logistical difficulties were encountered in the implementation of these plans, but despite these difficulties, the team reported a high level of satisfaction with the process. They reported that the process did what it purported to do and rated it highly on consumer-oriented variables (e.g. the logic of the process, ease of use). Additionally, teacher aides responded positively to a questionnaire on the impact of the process on their work and the school team took part in semistructured interviews to document the impact of the process on school personnel and student outcomes. Implications for teacher aide supports for teachers of students with special education needs in regular classrooms are discussed.</p>

The COVID-19 pandemic has compelled many educational institutions worldwide to use learning management systems (LMS) to deliver their courses. This study aims to determine the constituents that affect scholars when using LMS for graduation during the pandemic. This research also examines the impact of the students' anxiety level when using the LMS by conducting multiple group analyses with the partial least square's method. The results show a significant influence on the students' anxiety level when using the LMS. Students who have a low level of anxiety exhibited insignificant communication quality regarding the perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness. Meanwhile, students with a high level of anxiety highlight a consequential effect of communication quality in the perceived ease of use and usefulness. Moreover, students with a low level of anxiety displayed significantly high-perceived usefulness, satisfaction, and subject norm when using the LMS. In contrast, students with a high level of anxiety did not display perceived usefulness, satisfaction, or subject norm when using the LMS. As a result of the findings from this research, concrete effects can be provided for educationalists, policymakers, and practitioners, who want to advance functional procedures to enhance the design of the LMS during COVID-19.

Tech-friendliness in this new era is an important quotient considered and the persons’ acceptance towards the technology frequency matters a lot. But still the frequency varies from person to person, this brought in the concept of Technology Acceptance Model given by Fred Davis in 1989. The theory of TAM is based on two theories that are Theory of Reasoned Action and Theory of Planned Behavior, TAM is extended version of these two. Green Banking is a new technology introduced by the banks that focuses on the growth of Sustainable development and Banking system too. Thus, banks ask their customers to use it or practice it in their daily life transactions. But every customer has their own point of view on the usage of Green banking. Thus, the research aims to understand the customers’ perception towards the Green Banking for this TAM is used. The research states that Perceived risk is the primary factor that is followed by perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use that impacts the decision to use green banking. Thus, the behavioral intention results in actual use of green banking usage for which people are trying to accept the new technology. So, the banks have earned points for creating awareness among their customers but still they have to work hard and clarify their customers’ problems and vanish that hitch that is stopping them to use green banking easily.

Abstract Purpose This study explores pre-service preschool teachers’ acceptance and self-efficacy towards Educational Robotics (ER) during a university course, and also examines their perceptions of the course. Methodology This is a one-group intervention study with an associational research design that includes both quantitative and qualitative research methods: two pre-questionnaires and two post-questionnaires on pre-service teachers’ acceptance and self-efficacy towards ER, and participants’ training journals. Findings The results show that pre-service teachers’ acceptance and self-efficacy towards ER improved after they completed the ER teacher training course. There was a significant difference between the start and the end of the ER training in the pre-service teachers’ acceptance of ER in the areas of perceived ease of use, enjoyment and attitudes, and in their self-efficacy. The findings based on the training journals show that participants positively evaluated the course. The participants also provided suggestions for improving it, such as additional training sessions, resources and time for experimentation. Value Our study reveals the impact of an ER training program and showcases the importance of integrating ER in pre-service teachers’ education.

<p>Mobile payment has relative advantages compared to other payment methods, thus providing benefits for both consumers and the society. This study attempts to examine factors influencing consumer intention to use mobile payment services. Survey data are used to investigate the impact of consumers’ perceptions of mobile payment services and social influence on use intention. Empirical evidence from 489 Vietnamese consumers confirms a significant relationship between the factors and behavioral intention, and reveals that perceived trust is the strongest predictor of intention to use mobile payment services followed by perceived ease of use, perceived enjoyment, perceived behavioral control, perceived usefulness and subjective norm, respectively. The results contribute to the evolving literature, and suggest that mobile payment service providers should particularly focus on building up consumer trust, and making their services clear, understandable and easy to use. Future research directions for extending this study are also discussed.</p>

Current theories of stroke rehabilitation point toward paradigms of intense concentrated use of the afflicted limb as a means for motor program reorganization and partial function restoration. A home-based system for stroke rehabilitation that trains recovery of hand function by a treatment of concentrated movement was developed and tested. A wearable goniometer measured finger and wrist motions in both hands. An interface box transmitted sensor measurements in real-time to a laptop computer. Stroke patients used joint motion to control the screen cursor in a one-dimensional tracking task for several hours a day over the course of 10–14 days to complete a treatment of 1800 tracking trials. A telemonitoring component enabled a therapist to check in with the patient by video phone to monitor progress, to motivate the patient, and to upload tracking data to a central file server. The system was designed for use at home by patients with no computer skills. The system was placed in the homes of 20 subjects with chronic stroke and impaired finger motion, ranging from 2–305 mi away from the clinic, plus one that was a distance of 1057 miles. Fifteen subjects installed the system at home themselves after instruction in the clinic, while nine required a home visit to install. Three required follow-up visits to fix equipment. A post-treatment telephone survey was conducted to assess ease of use and most responded that the system was easy to use. Functional improvements were seen in the subjects enrolled in the formal treatment study, although the treatment period was too short to trigger cortical reorganization. We conclude that the system is feasible for home use and that tracking training has promise as a treatment paradigm.

Abstract In the coming decades, greater numbers of people will either have Alzheimer’s Disease or a related dementia or will take care of a family member with dementia. The dementia syndromes are associated with increased risk of medical, social, and behavioral complications in both the person with dementia (PWD) and the caregiver (CG), many of which are preventable. These complications, and the dementia itself, can impede access to care and ultimately hasten residential care placement, which can be both undesirable and costly. A nearly universal unmet need in PWD/CG dyads is dementia-specific education. Therefore, it is vital we find ways to support and provide education to CG/PWD dyads to manage dementia in the community and home setting. MIND at Home is a dementia-care model developed and tested at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine to minimize dementia complications and delay institutionalization by training non-clinical Memory Care Coordinators (MCCs) working under clinical supervision to support and guide PWD/CG dyads in the community. MCCs collaborate with CGs and PWDs in the community using an individualized care plan structured around the dyads’ specific dementia-related needs. This presentation will describe how the MIND at Home team used handheld tablets to connect MCCs to clinicians from participants’ homes, and will report on challenges encountered, strategies to address them, and participant and caregiver satisfaction with the telehealth experience.

PurposeBlockchain is a relatively new technology. Although it has a high potential to influence organizational strategies for adoption into respective operations, it has not been widely explored yet. This study aims to assess the sectoral diversity in the timing of organizational adoption of blockchain through selected organizational factors.Design/methodology/approachA survey was conducted based on a sample of 208 IT professionals. The data was collected using an instrument containing 17 questions. The existence of sector diversity was statistically analyzed using the Least Square Regression method.FindingsThe results indicate that, except for management support and perceived ease of use, all the other factors in the analysis significantly influence sector diversity in terms of blockchain adoption timing.Originality/valueAlthough blockchain has received attention from researchers, to the best of the authors' knowledge, there is no published work in the literature that explores the organizational factors influencing sectoral differences in the timing of blockchain technology adoption. Therefore, our work is unique in the related literature since we present analyses for the diversity between public and private sectors by modeling the factors affecting the intentions for the timing of blockchain adoption as part of the organizations' IT infrastructure.

Today, the development of the Internet and social networks has changed the lives of human beings. The ability of these technologies to connect people in real-time expands the influence of some people in the community. Therefore, this study is conducted to test whether customers change purchasing behavior in online environments under the impact of those influencers by using Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). The study conducted a survey of 503 Vietnameses on Google Form from November 2020 to mid-January 2021. The collected data were analyzed using AMOS 24 with CB-SEM analysis method. The results showed a positive relationship between influencers and customers’ online purchasing behavior. More specifically, customers are more likely to buy online if they trust influencers and their advertisements. This is the most influential factor among the three influencer traits (as source credibility): trustworthiness, expertise, and attractiveness. A remarkable point in this study is that Vietnamese people are more concerned with perceived ease of use when buying online than other factors in the TAM model. This is the basis for businesses to implement influencer marketing strategies and improve the competitiveness of their online business.
