The purpose of this paper is to investigate the strong convergence problem of a modified mixed Ishikawa iterative sequence with errors for approximating the fixed points of an asymptotically nonexpansive mapping in the intermediate sense and an asymptotically quasi-pseudo-contractive-type mapping in an arbitrary real Banach space. The results here improve and extend the corresponding results reported by some other authors recently.

In a real Banach space E with a uniformly differentiable norm, we prove that a new iterative sequence converges strongly to a fixed point of an asymptotically nonexpansive mapping. The results in this paper improve and extend some recent results of other authors.

AbstractLetEbe a uniformly convex and uniformly smooth real Banach space, and letE* be its dual. LetA : E→ 2E*be a bounded maximal monotone map. Assume thatA−1(0) ≠ Ø. A new iterative sequence is constructed which convergesstronglyto an element ofA−1(0). The theorem proved complements results obtained on strong convergence ofthe proximal point algorithmfor approximating an element ofA−1(0) (assuming existence) and also resolves an important open question. Furthermore, this result is applied to convex optimization problems and to variational inequality problems. These results are achieved by combining a theorem of Reich on the strong convergence of the resolvent of maximal monotone mappings in a uniformly smooth real Banach space and new geometric properties of uniformly convex and uniformly smooth real Banach spaces introduced by Alber, with a technique of proof which is also of independent interest.

LetEbe a real Banach space, andKa closed convex nonempty subset ofE. LetT1,T2,…,Tm:K→Kbemtotal asymptotically nonexpansive mappings. A simple iterative sequence{xn}n≥1is constructed inEand necessary and sufficient conditions for this sequence to converge to a common fixed point of{Ti}i=1mare given. Furthermore, in the case thatEis a uniformly convex real Banach space, strong convergence of the sequence{xn}n=1∞to a common fixed point of the family{Ti}i=1mis proved. Our recursion formula is much simpler and much more applicable than those recently announced by several authors for the same problem.

LetEbe an arbitrary real Banach space and letKbe a nonempty closed convex subset ofEsuch thatK+K⊂K. Assume thatT:K→Kis a uniformly continuous andΦ-hemicontractive mapping. It is shown that the Ishikawa iterative sequence with errors converges strongly to the unique fixed point ofT.

In this paper, we consider a generalized mixed variational-like inequality problem and prove a Minty-type lemma for its related auxiliary problems in a real Banach space. We prove the existence of a solution of these auxiliary problems and also prove some properties for the solution set of generalized mixed variational-like inequality problem. Furthermore, we introduce and study an inertial hybrid iterative method for solving the generalized mixed variational-like inequality problem involving Bregman relatively nonexpansive mapping in Banach space. We study the strong convergence for the proposed algorithm. Finally, we list some consequences and computational examples to emphasize the efficiency and relevancy of the main result.

Abstract In this paper, we discuss the Δ-convergence and strong convergence for the iterative sequence generated by the proposed scheme to approximate a common fixed point of a total asymptotically nonexpansive single-valued mapping and a quasi nonexpansive multi-valued mapping in a complete uniformly convex hyperbolic space. Finally, by giving an example, we illustrate our result.

In the framework of a real Banach space with uniformly Gateaux differentiable norm, some new viscosity iterative sequences{xn}are introduced for an infinite family of asymptotically nonexpansive mappingsTii=1∞in this paper. Under some appropriate conditions, we prove that the iterative sequences{xn}converge strongly to a common fixed point of the mappingsTii=1∞, which is also a solution of a variational inequality. Our results extend and improve some recent results of other authors.

A new concept of the asymptotically weakG-pseudo-Ψ-contractive non-self-mappingT:G↦Bis introduced and some strong convergence theorems for the mapping are proved by using the generalized projection method combined with the modified successive approximation method or with the modified Mann iterative sequence method in a uniformly and smooth Banach space. The proof methods are also different from some past common methods.

A new modified mixed Ishikawa iterative sequence with error for common fixed points of two asymptotically quasi pseudocontractive type non-self-mappings is introduced. By the flexible use of the iterative scheme and a new lemma, some strong convergence theorems are proved under suitable conditions. The results in this paper improve and generalize some existing results.
