This paper established the fault diagnosis system of aluminum electrolysis, according to the characteristics of the faults in aluminum electrolysis. This system includes two subsystems; one is process fault subsystem and the other is fault subsystem. Process fault subsystem includes the subneural network layer and decision fusion layer. Decision fusion neural network verifies the diagnosis result of the subneural network by the information transferring over the network and gives the decision of fault synthetically. EMD algorithm is used for data preprocessing of current signal in stator of the fault subsystem. Wavelet decomposition is used to extract feature on current signal in the stator; then, the system inputs the feature to the rough neural network for fault diagnosis and fault classification. The rough neural network gives the results of fault diagnosis. The simulation results verify the feasibility of the method.

Fault diagnosis and classification for machines are integral to condition monitoring in the industrial sector. However, in recent times, as sensor technology and artificial intelligence have developed, data-driven fault diagnosis and classification have been more widely investigated. The data-driven approach requires good-quality features to attain good fault classification accuracy, yet domain expertise and a fair amount of labeled data are important for better features. This paper proposes a deep auto-encoder (DAE) and convolutional neural network (CNN)-based bearing fault classification model using motor current signals of an induction motor (IM). Motor current signals can be easily and non-invasively collected from the motor. However, the current signal collected from industrial sources is highly contaminated with noise; feature calculation thus becomes very challenging. The DAE is utilized for estimating the nonlinear function of the system with the normal state data, and later, the residual signal is obtained. The subsequent CNN model then successfully classified the types of faults from the residual signals. Our proposed semi-supervised approach achieved very high classification accuracy (more than 99%). The inclusion of DAE was found to not only improve the accuracy significantly but also to be potentially useful when the amount of labeled data is small. The experimental outcomes are compared with some existing works on the same dataset, and the performance of this proposed combined approach is found to be comparable with them. In terms of the classification accuracy and other evaluation parameters, the overall method can be considered as an effective approach for bearing fault classification using the motor current signal.

The complexity of gear transmission condition makes a nonlinear mapping relationship between fault form and feature of it, the traditional signal processing methods is not easy to extract fault feature, it has caused great difficulties to gear fault diagnosis. This text is concerned with a class of fault diagnosis system of BP neural network to be used for fault diagnosis of gear. The simulation results show that the method can be used for the identification and diagnosis of gear faults.

In order to improve the fault diagnosis effectiveness of hydraulic system in erecting devices, the fuzzy neural neural network is applied to carry out fault diagnosis of hydraulic system. Firstly, the main faults of hydraulic system of erecting mechanism are summarized. The main faults of hydraulic system of erecting devices concludes abnormal noise, high temperature of hydraulic oil of hydraulic system, leakage of hydraulic system, low operating speed of hydraulic system, and the characteristics of different faults are analyzed. Secondly, basic theory of fuzzy neural network is studied, and the framework of fuzzy neural network is designed. The inputting layer, fuzzy layer, fuzzy relation layer, relationship layer after fuzzy operation and outputting layer of fuzzy neural network are designed, and the corresponding mathematical models are confirmed. The analysis procedure of fuzzy neural network is established. Thirdly, simulation analysis is carried out for a hydraulic system in erecting device, the BP neural network reaches convergence after 600 times iterations, and the fuzzy neural network reaches convergence after 400 times iterations, fuzzy neural network can obtain higher accuracy than BP neural network, and running time of fuzzy neural network is less than that of BP neural network, therefore, simulation results show that the fuzzy neural network can effectively improve the fault diagnosis efficiency and precision. Therefore, the fuzzy neural network is reliable for fault diagnosis of hydraulic system in erecting devices, which has higher fault diagnosis effect, which can provide the theory basis for healthy detection of hydraulic system in erecting devices.

Purpose The purpose of this study is to achieve an accurate intelligent fault diagnosis of rolling bearing. Design/methodology/approach To extract deep features of the original vibration signal and improve the generalization ability and robustness of the fault diagnosis model, this paper proposes a fault diagnosis method of rolling bearing based on multiscale convolutional neural network (MCNN) and decision fusion. The original vibration signals are normalized and matrixed to form grayscale image samples. In addition, multiscale samples can be achieved by convoluting these samples with different convolution kernels. Subsequently, MCNN is constructed for fault diagnosis. The results of MCNN are put into a data fusion model to obtain comprehensive fault diagnosis results. Findings The bearing data sets with multiple multivariate time series are used to testify the effectiveness of the proposed method. The proposed model can achieve 99.8% accuracy of fault diagnosis. Based on MCNN and decision fusion, the accuracy can be improved by 0.7%–3.4% compared with other models. Originality/value The proposed model can extract deep general features of vibration signals by MCNN and obtained robust fault diagnosis results based on the decision fusion model. For a long time series of vibration signals with noise, the proposed model can still achieve accurate fault diagnosis.
