Quality of care plays an important role in the status of tuberculosis (TB) control, by influencing timely diagnosis, treatment adherence, and treatment completion. In this study, we aimed at establishing the quality of TB service care in Kamuli district health care centres using Donabedian structure, process, and outcomes model of health care. A cross-sectional study was conducted in 8 health care facilities, among 20 health care workers and 392 patients. Data was obtained using face-to-face interviews, an observation guide, a check list, and record review of the TB unit and laboratory registers. Data entry and analysis were done using EPI INFO 2008 and STATA 10 versions, respectively. A high number 150 (87.21%) of TB patients were not aware of all the signs to stop TB medication, and 100 (25.51%) patients received laboratory results after a period of 3–5 working days. The major challenges faced by health workers were poor attitude of fellow health workers, patients defaulting treatment, and fear of being infected with TB. One of the worst performance indicators was low percentage of cure. Comprehensive strengthening of the health system focusing on quality of support supervisions, patient follow up, promoting infection control measures, and increasing health staffing levels at health facilities is crucial.

This cross-sectional study was conducted with an objective to find out the quality of health care services in 5S-KAIZEN-TQM implemented two secondary level hospital in Bangladesh. The study participants were the service receiver’s whose age more than 15 years and those who were attended at 100 bedded Narsingdi General Hospital, Bangladesh. The period of the study extending from January to December 2016. Data were collected from 50 service receivers through face to face interviews using a semi-structured questionnaire. Out of 50 respondents, half (50.0%) of the service receiver was ≤ 25 years in which maximum (74.0%) were female. More than half of the respondent’s monthly income was less than 20000 taka. In this study, half (50.0%) of the respondents stated that they were waiting for 15-30 minutes, 60.0% patients stated that the doctor had concentrated to patients during treatment and more than two-third (68.0%) of them performed physical examination. A vast majority (90.0%) of the patients said that the doctor gave the explanation of prescribed drug. More than three-fourth (76.0%) of the respondents replied that they were satisfied on receiving the nursing services and rest of them (24.0%) were not satisfied. The present study findings stated that less than two-third (64.0%) of the respondents said that safety and security system was very good. On the other hand, 64.0% of the respondents were satisfied about cleanliness of the hospital and 88.0% had satisfied about ambulance service. Maximum of the respondents (88.0%) were satisfied on water and sanitation facility and more than half (54.0%) of the respondents were satisfied on electricity supplies in the hospital. In this study, majority (88.0%) of the respondents were satisfied on lab investigation facilities and 72.0% of the respondents were satisfied on drug supply and radiology and imaging services. 5S could be applied to health-care facilities regardless of locations. Background: Accident injuries caused has been serious heatlth problem in developing coutries. Children is vulnerable group with accident injury beucase of lacking knowlegde and exposing with risk factors in eviromental household. The treatment outcome for accident injury of children usually has more serious than other groups. The aims of this study to describle some characteristics of first aid and the outcome of treatment for children accident in Buon Ma Thuot, Dak Lak provice in 2014. Methodology: A cross-sectional study was conducted total 2,273 household which was 4,505 children aged under 16 in 8 communes, Buon Ma Thuot city, Daklak province. Interview technique with structural questionnaire and household observation methods were used for data collection. Results: The propotion of first aid was 75.9%; not received any first aid (23.8%); mortality at accident place (0.3%). At the time accident: The highest personal involving first aid was pedestrians 54.1%; 25% of health staff, self- first aid was 14.5%. Two main of first aid methods were hemostasis and bandeged with 45.5%; 28% respectiviely. After first aid, there was 80% delivering to health care facilities. The transport methods were motocycle (91.8%), car (5.6%) and ambulance (0.4%). The rate of approach health care facilities around early 6 hours were 86.7%. The characteristics of damages: sub-damages (scratches, dislocations, sprains...) were 36.9 %, deep damages (fractures, open wounds) accounted for 44.6%. Inpatient treatment was 23.9%; 91.5% medical therapy, surgery of 8.2%. The outcome of treatment were good (97.2%), sequelae/disability 2.6%. Conclusion: First aid activities for children at time and properly right were demonstrated effectively for prevented seriously outcome. There should be an intervention program for children with the appropriate models to reduce accident injuries in children; improvement first aid to communities and health care worker. Abstract Objectives: Iran is exposed to a wide range of natural and man-made hazards. Health-care facilities can play a significant role in providing life-saving measures in the minutes and hours immediately following the impact or exposure. The aim of this study was to determine the preparedness of health-care facilities in disasters and emergencies. Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted in Damghan, Semnan Province, in 2019. The samples consisted of all the 11 health-care facilities located in Damghan County. A developed checklist was used to collect the data, including 272 questions in 4 sections: understanding threatening hazards, functional, structural, and nonstructural vulnerability of health-care facilities. The data were analyzed using SPSS 21. Results: The results revealed that the health-care facilities were exposed to 22 different natural and man-made hazards throughout the county. The total level of preparedness of the health-care centers under assessment was 45.8%. The average functional, structural, and nonstructural vulnerability was assessed at 49.3%, 31.6%, and 56.4%, respectively. Conclusions: Conducting mitigation measures is necessary for promoting the functional and structural preparedness. Disaster educational programs and exercises are recommended among the health staff in health-care facilities.

Introduction. Health care workers often come into conflict situations while performing their daily activities. People behave differently when they come into conflicts and they are usually not aware of their own reactions. The aim of this paper was to establish the presence of conflict styles among health workers and the differences in relation to demographic characteristics (education, working experience, managerial position). Material and Methods. The research was done as a cross-sectional study and through surveys. The conflict handling questionnaire was used as the research instrument. The questionnaire contained 30 statements arranged in five dimensions of conflict styles. The sample included one hundred nurses and fifty-five doctors. Results. The research showed that accommodating was the most often used conflict style. There was no significant difference in styles of managerial and non-managerial staff, but there was a significant difference in the styles adopted by doctors and nurses. It should be noted that nurses used avoiding and accommodating conflict styles much more often. Conclusion. It is important to increase the awareness of conflict existence and the possibility of solving the problem constructively in order to achieve more efficient duty performance.

This cross-sectional study aimed to (1) describe the unclassified contents of telephone consultation services provided by a public health center during the first wave of COVID-19 in Japan and (2) examine whether the contents required assistance from public health nurses (PHNs). We analyzed a total of 207 calls in which the purpose of the call was unclassified into pre-set categories. PHNs transcribed the exact text of the consultation conversations recorded from 25 March to 20 April 2020 in City A. Approximately half of the calls were from residents. Seven categories were extracted through a qualitative content analysis. The most common topic was infection control measures, where the presence of COVID-19 infection was assumed (n = 62); the second most common was extreme anxiety and fear of infection (n = 50). Questions about the COVID-19 response system (n = 30), discrimination and misunderstandings about COVID-19 (n = 24), and response measures for COVID-19 outbreaks within organizations (n = 18) were also included. The unclassified consultations included various topics, several of which required the expertise of a PHN. Each local government should consider sharing and task-shifting telephone consultation services among PHNs and other staff to reduce their burden and allow them to concentrate on conducting infection control more effectively.

Background and objectives: Nurses can prevent the occurrence and transmission of noso-comial infections by following infection control measures such as wearing gloves and masks, using appropriate disinfection of skin and preventing accidental needle-stick inju-ries. This research aimed to evaluate the availability of hospital uniforms, personal protec-tive equipment, and infection control activities at hospitals in Sulaimani in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, and to examine nurses’ experience of nosocomial infections. Methods and materials: A cross-sectional study was performed at 10 governmental hospi-tals during the period from 20th February to 28th September 2018. 525 nurses were se-lected as participants by a convenience sampling method. A self-administrated question-naire was used to collect data, which were analysed using SPSS software. Results: The results showed that 268 nurses (51%) reported that their hospitals provided sufficient uniforms to all the medical staff and the majority of nurses, 444 respondents (84.6%) stated that they were responsible for cleaning their working uniforms. 441 nurses reported that they did not acquire a nosocomial infection, and 479 (91.2%) did not have an accident during their work in the hospital. 79.9% of the nurses (404) reported recapping syringe needles after the usage, and 98 (18.7%) gave a low rating to the infection control unit activity in their hospitals. Finally, more than half of nurses (330) representing 62.9% of the sample were vaccinated against nosocomial infections. Conclusions: Most of Sulaimani governmental hospitals are providing sufficient uniforms for the health staff, the majority of nurses were vaccinated against one or more nosocomi-al infections, and the majority of nurses do needle syringe recapping.

Introduction Health workers are at high risk of contracting the disease because they are at the forefront of assisting COVID19 patients. Globally, Indonesia has the worst death toll of health workers. Many previous studies have shown the differences in knowledge, attitudes, and behavior of health workers in handling with the COVID19 pandemic. This study aims to asses the role of knowledge, attitudes, and health workers' preparedness during the COVID-19 pandemic in Aceh Pidie Jaya District. Methods A cross-sectional study and the data were collected by distributing online questionnaires about knowledge, attitudes, behavior, and preparedness related to the COVID-19 at 12 Pidie Jaya District health centers. The knowledge, behavior, and preparedness parameters used Guttman and Likert scales to measure the workers' attitudes. Chi-square test was used to evaluate the relationship between knowledge, attitudes, behavior, and preparedness. Results In this study, 377 health workers were selected, the majority of respondents' education level was diploma, level 3 (257, 76.3%), and one-third of the respondents did not attend training. There are 197 (58.5%) respondents who had good knowledge, 177 (52.5%) positive attitudes, 283 (84%) good behavior, and 173 (51, 3%) well prepared. Furthermore, good knowledge, positive attitude, and good behavior had a significant correlation statistically with well prepared during the pandemic (p < 0.05). Discussion Most of the health workers in Aceh Pidie Jaya have good knowledge, positive attitudes, and good behavior that create adequate preparedness. Even though training is still very limited, educational attainment would remain the cornerstone for preparedness to encounter COVID-19.

Abstrak Bidan sebagai tenaga kesehatan strategis yang berperan dalam pelayanan kesehatan ibu dan anak dituntut memiliki kompetensi tinggi untuk dapat menjalankan fungsinya dengan baik. Kompetensi yang tinggi dapat tercapai bila penyelenggara pendidikan profesi bidan memenuhi standar penyelenggaraan pendidikan. Berdasarkan data Majelis Tenaga Kesehatan Indonesia (MTKI) tahun 2016, nilai rata-rata uji kompetensi DIII kebidanan hanya 41,08. Peserta uji kompetensi yang belum lulus sebanyak 46,5%. Hasil yang masih jauh dari harapan juga ditunjukkan dari rerata try out uji kompetensi tenaga kesehatan tahun 2012 hingga tahun 2015 yang cenderung menurun. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan informasi identifikasi kompetensi bidan berdasarkan Kepmenkes 369/MENKES/SK/III/2007 tentang standar profesi bidan pada hasil Risdiknakes tahun 2017. Kajian dilakukan menggunakan observasi, wawancara mendalam dan literatur review. Informan adalah bidan di puskesmas dan pakar kebidanan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa kompetensi bidan di fasilitas pelayanan kesehatan masih belum sesuai standar. Beberapa faktor dalam penyelenggaraan pendidikan kebidanan turut membentuk kompetensi bidan yang dihasilkan. Proses rekrutmen calon peserta didik, kualitas dosen, dan proses penyelenggaraan pendidikan kebidanan secara keseluruhan merupakan komponen yang harus menjadi fokus untuk menghasilkan bidan yang sesuai dengan standar kompetensi seperti tercantum dalam Kepmenkes Nomor 369/MENKES/SK/III/2007. They are required to have well competencies to run their tasks properly. Well, competencies can be achieved if the midwife's professional education providers meet the standards. Based on the Indonesian Health Workers' Assembly (MTKI) data in 2016, the average value of the DIII midwifery-competency test was only 41.08. Participants who failed the competency test were as much as 46.5%. It is still far from the expectation as the average value of health workers’ competency tests try out between 2012 to 2015 tends to decline. This study aims to identify midwife competencies based on Minister of Health's decree No. 369/MENKES/SK/III/2007 on midwives' profession standards and the results of the 2017 Research on Health Workers’ Education (Risdiknakes). The study was conducted using observation, in-depth interviews, and literature review. Informants are midwives at primary health care and midwifery experts. The results of the study indicate that midwife competencies in health care facilities are still not up to standard. Several factors in the administration of midwifery education also shape the competence of the midwives produced. The process of recruiting prospective students, the quality of lecturers, and the process of conducting midwifery education as a whole are components that must be the focus to produce midwives that comply with the competency standards in Minister of Health's decree No. 369/MENKES/SK/III/ 2007.
