This paper is concerned with the numerical stability of Runge-Kutta methods for a class of nonlinear functional differential and functional equations. The sufficient conditions for the stability and asymptotic stability of(k,l)-algebraically stable Runge-Kutta methods are derived. A numerical test is given to confirm the theoretical results.

This paper presents a class of new numerical methods for nonlinear functional-integrodifferential equations, which are derived by an adaptation of Pouzet-Runge-Kutta methods originally introduced for standard Volterra integrodifferential equations. Based on the nonclassical Lipschitz condition, analytical and numerical stability is studied and some novel stability criteria are obtained. Numerical experiments further illustrate the theoretical results and the effectiveness of the methods. In the end, a comparison between the presented methods and the existed related methods is given.

We discuss the delay-independent asymptotic stability of Caputo type fractional-order neutral differential systems with multiple discrete delays. Based on the algebraic approach and matrix theory, the sufficient conditions are derived to ensure the asymptotic stability for all time-delay parameters. By applying the stability criteria, one can avoid solving the roots of transcendental equations. The results obtained are computationally flexible and convenient. Moreover, an example is provided to illustrate the effectiveness and applicability of the proposed theoretical results.

AbstractIn this paper, we investigate the dynamical behaviors of a fractional-order predator–prey with Holling type IV functional response and its discretized counterpart. First, we seek the local stability of equilibria for the fractional-order model. Also, the necessary and sufficient conditions of the stability of the discretized model are achieved. Bifurcation types (include transcritical, flip and Neimark–Sacker) and chaos are discussed in the discretized system. Finally, numerical simulations are executed to assure the validity of the obtained theoretical results.

In this paper, adaptive guaranteed-performance consensus control problems for multiagent systems with an adjustable convergence speed are investigated. A novel adaptive guaranteed-performance consensus protocol is proposed, where the communication weights can be adaptively regulated. By the state space decomposition method and the stability theory, sufficient conditions for guaranteed-performance consensus are obtained and the guaranteed-performance cost is determined. Moreover, the lower bound of the convergence coefficient for multiagent systems is deduced, which is linearly adjustable approximately by changing the adaptive control gain. Finally, simulation examples are introduced to demonstrate theoretical results.

This paper studied the asymptotic behavior of a class of nonlinear functional differential equations by using the Bellman-Bihari inequality. We obtain results which extend and complement those in references. The results indicate that all non-oscillatory continuable solutions of equation are asymptotic to at+b as under some sufficient conditions, where a,b are real constants. An example is provided to illustrate the application of the results.

In this paper, we first study stability analysis of linear conformable fractional differential equations system with time delays. Some sufficient conditions on the asymptotic stability for these systems are proposed by using properties of the fractional Laplace transform and fractional version of final value theorem. Then, we employ conformable Euler’s method to solve conformable fractional differential equations system with time delays to illustrate the effectiveness of our theoretical results

This paper investigates the stability analysis with respect to part of the variables of nonlinear time-varying systems with impulse effect. The approach presented is based on the specially introduced piecewise continuous Lyapunov functions. The Lyapunov stability theorems with respect to part of the variables are generalized in the sense that the time derivatives of the Lyapunov functions are allowed to be indefinite. With the help of the notion of stable functions, asymptotic partial stability, exponential partial stability, input-to-state partial stability (ISPS) and integral input-to-state partial stability (iISPS) are considered. Three numerical examples are provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed theoretical results.

Abstract The study of properties of switched and hybrid systems gives rise to a number of interesting and challenging mathematical problems. This paper aims to briefly survey recent results on stability and controllability of switched linear systems. First, the stability analysis for switched systems is reviewed. We focus on the stability analysis for switched linear systems under arbitrary switching, and we highlight necessary and sufficient conditions for asymptotic stability. After that, we review the controllability results.
