LetF*(K)be the set of all fuzzy complex numbers. In this paper some classical and measure-theoretical notions are extended to the case of complex fuzzy sets. They are fuzzy complex number-valued distance onF*(K), fuzzy complex number-valued measure onF*(K), and some related notions, such as null-additivity, pseudo-null-additivity, null-subtraction, pseudo-null-subtraction, autocontionuous from above, autocontionuous from below, and autocontinuity of the defined fuzzy complex number-valued measures. Properties of fuzzy complex number-valued measures are studied in detail.

Complex fuzzy sets are the novel extension of Zadeh’s fuzzy sets. In this paper, we comprise the introduction to the concept of ξ -complex fuzzy sets and proofs of their various set theoretical properties. We define the notion of α , δ -cut sets of ξ -complex fuzzy sets and justify the representation of an ξ -complex fuzzy set as a union of nested intervals of these cut sets. We also apply this newly defined concept to a physical situation in which one may judge the performance of the participants in a given task. In addition, we innovate the phenomena of ξ -complex fuzzy subgroups and investigate some of their fundamental algebraic attributes. Moreover, we utilize this notion to define level subgroups of these groups and prove the necessary and sufficient condition under which an ξ -complex fuzzy set is ξ -complex fuzzy subgroup. Furthermore, we extend the idea of ξ -complex fuzzy normal subgroup to define the quotient group of a group G by this particular ξ -complex fuzzy normal subgroup and establish an isomorphism between this quotient group and a quotient group of G by a specific normal subgroup G A ξ .

As a generalization of complex fuzzy set (CFS), interval-valued complex fuzzy set (IVCFS) is a new research topic in the field of CFS theory, which can handle two different information features with the uncertainty. Distance is an important tool in the field of IVCFS theory. To enhance the applicability of IVCFS, this paper presents some new interval-valued complex fuzzy distances based on traditional Hamming and Euclidean distances of complex numbers. Furthermore, we elucidate the geometric properties of these distances. Finally, these distances are used to deal with decision-making problem in the IVCFS environment.

Complex fuzzy set (CFS) is a recent development in the field of fuzzy set (FS) theory. The significance of CFS lies in the fact that CFS assigned membership grades from a unit circle in the complex plane, i.e., in the form of a complex number whose amplitude term belongs to a [ 0 , 1 ] interval. The interval-valued complex fuzzy set (IVCFS) is one of the extensions of the CFS in which the amplitude term is extended from the real numbers to the interval-valued numbers. The novelty of IVCFS lies in its larger range comparative to CFS. We often use fuzzy distance measures to solve some problems in our daily life. Hence, this paper develops some series of distance measures between IVCFSs by using Hamming and Euclidean metrics. The boundaries of these distance measures for IVCFSs are obtained. Finally, we study two geometric properties include rotational invariance and reflectional invariance of these distance measures.

As a generation of fuzzy set, the notion of complex fuzzy set which is an innovative concept is introduced by Ramot, Milo, Friedman and Kandel. The purpose of this article is to apply complex fuzzy set to BCK/BCI-algebras. The notions of a complex subalgebra and a complex left (right) reduced ideal in a BCK/BCI- algebra are introduced, and related properties are investigated. Characterizations of a complex subalgebra are provided, and the homomorphic image (preimage) of a complex subalgebra and a complex left (right) reduced ideal.

AbstractThe unwinding number of a complex number was introduced to process automatic computations involving complex numbers and multi-valued complex functions, and has been successfully applied to computations involving branches of the Lambert W function. In this partly expository note we discuss the unwinding number from a purely topological perspective, and link it to the classical winding number of a curve in the complex plane. We also use the unwinding number to give a representation of the branches $$W_k$$ W k of the Lambert W function as a line integral.

Due to the indeterminacy and uncertainty of the decision-makers (DM) in the complex decision making problems of daily life, evaluation and aggregation of the information usually becomes a complicated task. In literature many theories and fuzzy sets (FS) are presented for the evaluation of these decision tasks, but most of these theories and fuzzy sets have failed to explain the uncertainty and vagueness in the decision making issues. Therefore, we use complex intuitionistic fuzzy set (CIFS) instead of fuzzy set and intuitionistic fuzzy set (IFS). A new type of aggregation operation is also developed by the use of complex intuitionistic fuzzy numbers (CIFNs), their accuracy and the score functions are also discussed in detail. Moreover, we utilized the Maclaurin symmetric mean (MSM) operator, which have the ability to capture the relationship among multi-input arguments, as a result, CIF Maclarurin symmetric mean (CIFMSM) operator and CIF dual Maclaurin symmetric mean (CIFDMSM) operator are presented and their characteristics are discussed in detail. On the basis of these operators, a MAGDM method is presented for the solution of group decision making problems. Finally, the validation of the propounded approach is proved by evaluating a numerical example, and by the comparison with the previously researched results.

Higher-order fuzzy decision-making methods have become powerful tools to support decision-makers in solving their problems effectively by reflecting uncertainty in calculations better than crisp sets in the last 3 decades. Fermatean fuzzy set proposed by Senapati and Yager, which can easily process uncertain information in decision making, pattern recognition, medical diagnosis et al., is extension of intuitionistic fuzzy set and Pythagorean fuzzy set by relaxing the restraint conditions of the support for degrees and support against degrees. In this paper, we focus on the similarity measures of Fermatean fuzzy sets. The definitions of the Fermatean fuzzy sets similarity measures and its weighted similarity measures on discrete and continuous universes are given in turn. Then, the basic properties of the presented similarity measures are discussed. Afterward, a decision-making process under the Fermatean fuzzy environment based on TOPSIS method is established, and a new method based on the proposed Fermatean fuzzy sets similarity measures is designed to solve the problems of medical diagnosis. Ultimately, an interpretative multi-criteria decision making example and two medical diagnosis examples are provided to demonstrate the viability and effectiveness of the proposed method. Through comparing the different methods in the multi-criteria decision making and the medical diagnosis application, it is found that the new method is as efficient as the other methods. These results illustrate that the proposed method is practical in dealing with the decision making problems and medical diagnosis problems.

In this paper, we aim to develop a new type of neutrosophic fuzzy set called the star neutrosophic fuzzy set as a generalization to star neutrosophic crisp set defined in by Salama et al.[8], and study some of its properties. Adedd to, we introduce the notion of star neutrosophic fuzzy topological space as a generalization to some topological consepts as star neutrosophic fuzzy closure, and star neutrosophic fuzzy interior. Finally, we extend the concepts of fuzzy topological space, and intuitionistic fuzzy topological space to the case of star neutrosophic fuzzy sets.

The literature discusses several extensions of fuzzy sets. AIFS, IVFS, HFS, type-2 fuzzy sets are some of them. Interval valued fuzzy sets is one of the extensions where the membership is not a single value but an interval. Atanassov Intuitionistic fuzzy sets, for short AIFS, are defined in terms of two values for each element: membership and non-membership. In this paper we discuss AIFS and their relationship with fuzzy measures. The discussion permits us to define counter AIFS (cIFS) and discretionary AIFS (dIFS). They are extensions of fuzzy sets that are based on fuzzy measures.

Convexity is one of the most important geometric properties of sets and a useful concept in many fields of mathematics, like optimization. As there are also important applications making use of fuzzy optimization, it is obvious that the studies of convexity are also frequent. In this paper we have extended the notion of convexity for hesitant fuzzy sets in order to fulfill some necessary properties. Namely, we have found an appropriate definition of convexity for hesitant fuzzy sets on any ordered universe based on aggregation functions such that it is compatible with the intersection, that is, the intersection of two convex hesitant fuzzy sets is a convex hesitant fuzzy set and it fulfills the cut worthy property.
