We address the temperature control problem of the gas chromatograph. We model the temperature control system of the gas chromatograph into a switched delayed system and analyze the stability by common Lyapunov functional technique. The PI controller parameters can be given based on the proposed linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) condition and the designed controller can make the temperature of gas chromatograph track the reference signal asymptotically. An experiment is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the stability criterion.

In this paper, the stability analysis of switched uncertain neutral systems with mode-dependent delays under arbitrary switching rules is presented. Based on common Lyapunov functional, and combined with the analysis of matrix inequalities, the delay dependent stability conditions are obtained in the form of linear matrix inequalities(LMIs)which can be easily solved by LMI toolbox in Matlab. Finally, a numerical example illustrate that the proposed criteria are effective.

In this paper, a new method for designing controller for linear switching systems with varying delay is presented concerning the Hurwitz-Convex combination. For stability analysis the Lyapunov-Krasovskii function is used. The stability analysis results are given based on the linear matrix inequalities (LMIs), and it is possible to obtain upper delay bound that guarantees the stability of system by solving the linear matrix inequalities. Compared with the other methods, the proposed controller can be used to get a less conservative criterion and ensures the stability of linear switching systems with time-varying delay in which delay has way larger upper bound in comparison with the delay bounds that are considered in other methods. Numerical examples are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of proposed method.

In this paper, the stability and periodicity of memristor-based neural networks with time-varying delays are studied. Based on linear matrix inequalities, differential inclusion theory and by constructing proper Lyapunov functional approach and using linear matrix inequality, some sufficient conditions are obtained for the global exponential stability and periodic solutions of memristor-based neural networks. Finally, two illustrative examples are given to demonstrate the results.

The stability problem of nonlinear time-delay systems is addressed. A quadratic constraint is employed to exploit the structure of nonlinearity in dynamical systems via a set of multiplier matrices. This yields less conservative results concerning stability analysis. By employing a Wirtinger-based inequality, a delay-dependent stability criterion is derived in terms of linear matrix inequalities for the nominal and uncertain systems. A numerical example is used to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed stability conditions in dealing with some larger class of nonlinearities.

Copper wire continuous annealing is a key process of the cable production line. The accuracy of the temperature control directly determines whether the quality of copper wire meets the requirements. In this paper, the fuzzy-PI compound controller was selected and the structure of the annealing temperature fuzzy-PI control system was designed based on temperature measurement. Through the simulation of traditional PI control system and the improved Fuzzy-PI control system, the results show that the Fuzzy-PI controller is better than traditional PI controller. It verifies the feasibility and effectiveness of the Fuzzy -PI controller and proves that Fuzzy-PI algorithm can be successfully applied to the copper wire continuous annealing temperature control system.

In this paper, we present a new decentralized H∞ control for interconnected systems, the interconnected system consists of several subsystems. The proposed approach based on Lyapunov functional and a H∞ criterion, employed to reduce the effect of interconnections between subsystems. In the first, we study the stability of the global system in closed loop using a criterion H∞, the stability conditions are presented in terms of LMI. In the second, to improve this approach, a Finsler’s lemma is used for the stability analysis by LMIs. Some sufficient conditions, ensuring all the closed-loop stability are supplied in terms of Linear Matrix Inequalities (LMIs), and the new feedback gain matrix of each local controller is obtained by solving the LMIs. Finally, the practice examples are given to illustrate the efficiency of the present method

Abstract This paper presents an Investigation on the stability of network controlled temperature control system having Time-Invariant feedback delays, by utilizing a direct method for TDS stability analysis. A PI controller based stability analysis for temperature control system with Time invariant feedback loop delay has been constructed in this paper. The stability problem has been formulated based on the transfer function model of the closed loop system with various time delays. For different subsets of the controller parameters, based on the stability criterion’s maximal permissible bound of the network link delay that the closed loop system can accommodate without losing the stability has been computed. The effectiveness of the obtained result was validated on a benchmark temperature control system using MATLAB simulation software.

A new Proportional-Integral (PI) tuning method based on Linear Matrix Inequalities (LMIs) is presented. In particular, an LMI-based optimal control problem is solved to obtain a sparse feedback that provides the PI tuning. The ASCE Test Canal 1 is used as a case study. Using a linearised model of the canal, different tunings for the design of the PI controller are developed and tested using the software Sobek. Furthermore, the proposed method is also compared with other tunings proposed for the same canal available in the literature. Our results show that the proposed method reduces by half the maximum errors with respect to other assessed alternatives and minimizes undesired mutual interactions between canal pools. Also, our method improves the optimality degree of the PI tuning by 30%. Therefore, it is concluded that the LMI based PI controllers lead to satisfactory performance in regulating water levels and canal flows/structure outflows, outperforming other tested alternatives, thus becoming a useful tool for irrigation canal control.

In this paper, the problem of robust preview control for uncertain discrete singular systems is considered. First of all, by employing the forward difference for uncertain discrete singular systems, the singular augmented error system with the state vector, the input control vector, and the previewable reference signal is derived. Since there is a singular matrix in the system, the existing method cannot be directly applied to this problem. By considering the stability of the transposition system with Linear Matrix Inequality (LMI) method, a new stability criterion for the transposition system is introduced. Then, the robust controller for the augmented error system is obtained, which is regarded as the robust preview controller for the original singular system. At last, the numerical simulation shows the correctness and effectiveness of the results.
