The VIKOR method was developed for multicriteria optimization of complex systems. It determines the compromise ranking list and the compromise solution obtained with the given weights. This method focuses on ranking and selecting from a set of alternatives in the presence of conflicting criteria. Here, the VIKOR method is used for two timestandt+1. In order to calculate the progress or regression via Malmquist productivity index, the positive and negative ideals at timestandt+1are calculated first. Then we introduce the multi-criteria ranking index based on the particular measure of “closeness” to the ideal solution and calculate the separation of each alternative from the ideal solution at timestandt+1. Then we use the Malmquist productivity index to calculate the progress or regression of all alternatives. In this paper, productivity of alternatives available in decision matrix with interval numbers and their improvement or deterioration is researched. To achieve this practical goal, use of extended VIKOR is made to calculate Malmquist productivity index for multicriteria decision-making (MCDM) problem with interval numbers, and by applying Malmquist productivity index, productivity rate of growth for alternatives is calculated. Finally, a numerical example illustrates and clarifies the main results developed in this paper.

Abstract Suitable material selection with emphasis on a specific property or application is an indispensable part of engineering sciences. It is a complex process that involves multiple criteria and often multiple decision makers. The tendency of decision makers to specify their preference in terms of imprecise qualitative statements like ‘good’, ‘bad’ etc. poses a further challenge. Thus, in this research, a comprehensive multicriteria decision-making study was conducted to select the optimal Zn-Al alloy based on performance in a corrosive environment. Four variants of technique for order of preference by similarity to the ideal solution were used to perform the multicriteria decision-making analysis. Group decision and imprecise decision making is handled by incorporating the fuzzy theory concept in a technique for order of preference by similarity to the ideal solution. The effect of addition of aluminium to zinc was studied by examination of microstructure, hardness, and corrosion behaviour. The result indicates that an increase in Al content increases the formation of dendrites. The dendrites were rich in the α phase, which results in an increase in hardness. An increase in Al content in Zn (Zn-22Al and Zn-55Al) results in the uniform distribution of the a phase in the microstructure and reduction of non-equilibrium phases. The potentiodynamic polarisation test revealed that an increase in Al in the alloy decreases the corrosion current density. The weight loss test carried out to validate the potentiodynamic test findings exhibited higher weight loss in pure Zn and lowest in Zn-55Al. Similar results were observed in the salt spray test. The multicriteria decision-making analysis revealed that Zn-55Al is the most suitable alloy in a corrosive environment among the tested alloys.

Remission is a reduction of criminal punishment given to prisoners who have been regulated in the laws of the Republic of Indonesia. The process of giving scores to inmates in Class IIA Palu Correctional Institution with certain criteria aims to facilitate the employees of Palu Class IIA to get recommendation of remission of prisoners. The decision support system in this research uses Technique for Order Preference method by Similiarity to Ideal Solution ( TOPSIS) which is one of the multicriteria decision-making methods, where the basic idea of this method is that the chosen alternative has the closest distance to the ideal solution and the furthest from the ideal negative solution. In determining the inmates who receive remission recommendation in Correctional Institution Class IIA Palu there are 6 criteria which become the basis of decision making such as health condition, special skill and leadership skill, social life, never breaking order and not being a recidivist. The final result in this study is the result of calculation of proximity relative to the ideal solution that is sorted from the highest value to the lowest value so that employees of Correctional Institution Class IIA can easily take a decision on remission recommendations by looking at the results of the sorting

In this paper, we evaluate the performance of major public road transport organizations in India. The contribution of the paper lies in integrating four multicriteria decision-making (MCDM) techniques to assess the relative performance of public road transportation systems on twenty-three criteria across two consecutive years. The paper classifies the criteria into functional heads and establishes the relative importance of heads using the analytical hierarchical process (AHP). The efficiency scores of each organization referred to as a decision-making unit (DMU) were computed for the classified heads using the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) approach. The multicriteria optimization and compromise solution technique “VlseKriterijumska Optimizacija I Kompromisno Resenje” (VIKOR) was used to assign a final rank to each of the DMUs using computed efficiency scores and established weights. Finally, we analyzed the performance of the DMUs across the two consecutive years using the Malmquist Productivity Index (MPI). Our key findings are as follows: First, the performance of all DMUs has improved in the second year with respect to the first year; second, significant improvement is observed in the “expenses” functional head which carries a substantial weight among the functional heads; third, barring few DMUs, the performance of the majority of DMUs has worsened in the “accident” functional head; fourth, while few DMUs have been consistently very good performers in both the years, there are also few DMUs which have consistently performed poorly in both the years. The inferences drawn from the study can be leveraged for future policy formulations by the state government and local municipal corporations and for sharing best practices among the DMUs.

This research aims to make a sort 104 University in Region XIII Kopertis Aceh Provincewith the method Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution(TOPSIS) against the ratio of lecturers and students. TOPSIS is one method that can beused to solve the problem of Fuzzy MADM. This research takes into account all thecriteria that support decision making in order to help speed up and facilitate thedecision-making process and do a minimal quantity of perangkingan especially thelecturer at a college. Based on research results, calculation of TOPSIS begins withforming a decision matrix is normalized, then continued with a decision matrixweighting normalization. The step is done to determine the ideal solution matrix ofpositive and negative solution is ideal. The last stages of the method is to calculate thevalue of the preference of each alternative (Vi) in order to get the final results, the mosthigh value Vi shows the best alternative. Based on the end result then sorted 25 Colleges(PTS) is Locality Kopertis XIII Aceh at its best.

The Financial Master Plan (2001- 2010) aims to enhance the capacity of banking industry so that higher effic iency and productivity can be reaped in the future. This study seeks to determine the impact of merger on the efficiency and productivity ofcommercial banks in Malaysia for the period 1995 until 2005. The study uses a non-parametric approach, nam ely DEA (data envelopment analysis?) to estimate the efficiency scores and to construct the Malmquist productivity index. To enable this estimation, three bank inputs and outputs are used. Amongst the findings are those banks exhibit higher efficiency score after the merger and thefo reign banks are more efficient than the local banks. Productivity of the banks is calculated in both periods, before and after the merger: The results show that, it is the local banks that have improved the most after the merger. The main source of productivity is technical change or innovation. The findings support the existing policy of having larger domestic banks in term of size.

The purpose of the article is the analysis of hagiology in Lazar Baranovych’s poetry collection entitled Żywoty świętych (1670). This includes the fulfi lment of such tasks: 1) To enumerate the saints mentioned in the poetry collection; 2) To determine to which church/epoch/place of worship or order of sainthood they belong; 3) To determine how full the saints’ details of biography are refl ected in the poetry collection mentioned above; 4) To understand Lazar Baranovych’s view on the topic of diff erent kinds of sainthood clearly; 5) To measure the actuality of his views given the context of the 18th century Ukraine. The results of the research are shared in the given article, showing how exactly Lazar Baranovych defi ned for himself the concept of the sainthood at the fi rst place. They also tell us about his views on the call for monkhood and family life and help us to reconstruct the images of the ideal spiritual shepherd, female Christian etc.
