Discrete neural models are of great importance in numerical simulations and practical implementations. In the current paper, a discrete model of continuous-time neural networks with variable and distributed delays is investigated. By Lyapunov stability theory and techniques such as linear matrix inequalities, sufficient conditions guaranteeing the existence and global exponential stability of the unique equilibrium point are obtained. Introduction of LMIs enables one to take into consideration the sign of connection weights. To show the effectiveness of the method, an illustrative example, along with numerical simulation, is presented.

This paper deals with the problem of stability analysis for generalized neural networks with time-varying delays. With a suitable Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional (LKF) and Wirtinger-based integral inequality, sufficient conditions for guaranteeing the asymptotic stability of the concerned networks are derived in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). By applying the proposed methods to two numerical examples which have been utilized in many works for checking the conservatism of stability criteria, it is shown that the obtained results are significantly improved comparing with the previous ones published in other literature.

In this article, we investigate the problem of finite-time passivity for the complex-valued neural networks (CVNNs) with multiple time-varying delays. To begin, many definitions relevant to the finite-time passivity of CVNNs are provided; then the suitable control inputs are designed to guarantee the class of CVNNs are finite-time passive. In the meantime, some sufficient conditions of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) are derived by using inequalities techniques and Lyapunov stability theory. Finally, a numerical example is presented to illustrate the usefulness of the theoretical results.

This paper investigates the problem of stability analysis for recurrent neural networks with time-varying delays and polytopic uncertainties. Parameter-dependent Lypaunov functionals are employed to obtain sufficient conditions that guarantee the robust global exponential stability of the equilibrium point of the considered neural network. The derived stability criteria are expressed in terms of a set of relaxed linear matrix inequalities, which can be easily tested by using commercially available software. Two numerical examples are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed results.

This paper proposes the [Formula: see text]-matrix method to achieve state estimation in Markov switched neural networks with Lévy noise, and the method is very distinct from the linear matrix inequality technique. Meanwhile, in light of the Lyapunov stability theory, some sufficient conditions of the exponential stability are derived for delayed neural networks, and the adaptive update law is obtained. An example verifies the condition of state estimation and confirms the effectiveness of results.

In this paper, the stability and periodicity of memristor-based neural networks with time-varying delays are studied. Based on linear matrix inequalities, differential inclusion theory and by constructing proper Lyapunov functional approach and using linear matrix inequality, some sufficient conditions are obtained for the global exponential stability and periodic solutions of memristor-based neural networks. Finally, two illustrative examples are given to demonstrate the results.

This paper investigates the exponential stability problem for a class of stochastic neural networks with leakage delay. By employing a suitable Lyapunov functional and stochastic stability theory technic, the sufficient conditions which make the stochastic neural networks system exponential mean square stable are proposed and proved. All results are expressed in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Example and simulation are presented to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

This paper pays close attention to the problem of finite-time stabilization related to stochastic inertial neural networks with or without time-delay. By establishing proper Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional and making use of matrix inequalities, some sufficient conditions on finite-time stabilization are obtained and the stochastic settling-time function is also estimated. Furthermore, in order to achieve the finite-time stabilization, both delayed and nondelayed nonlinear feedback controllers are designed, respectively, in terms of solutions to a set of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Finally, a numerical example is provided to demonstrate the correction of the theoretical results and the effectiveness of the proposed control design method.

We present an improved antiwindup design for linear invariant continuous-time systems with actuator saturation nonlinearities. In the improved approach, two antiwindup compensators are simultaneously designed: one activated immediately at the occurrence of actuator saturation and the other activated in anticipatory of actuator saturation. Both the static and dynamic antiwindup compensators are considered. Sufficient conditions for global stability and minimizing the inducedL2gain are established, in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). We also show that the feasibility of the improved antiwindup is similar to the traditional antiwindup. Benefits of the proposed approach over the traditional antiwindup and a recent innovative antiwindup are illustrated with well-known examples.

This paper is concerned with the problem of robust stabilization andH∞control for a class of uncertain neural networks. For the robust stabilization problem, sufficient conditions are derived based on the quadratic convex combination property together with Lyapunov stability theory. The feedback controller we design ensures the robust stability of uncertain neural networks with mixed time delays. We further design a robustH∞controller which guarantees the robust stability of the uncertain neural networks with a givenH∞performance level. The delay-dependent criteria are derived in terms of LMI (linear matrix inequality). Finally, numerical examples are provided to show the effectiveness of the obtained results.

This paper concerns the problem of delay-dependent stability criteria for recurrent neural networks with time varying delays. By taking more information of states and activation functions as augmented vectors, a new class of the Lyapunov functional is proposed. Then, some less conservative stability criteria are obtained in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Finally, two numerical examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
