Rotational spectroscopy can provide insights of unparalleled precision with respect to the wavefunctions of molecular systems that have relevance in fields as diverse as astronomy and biology. In this paper, we demonstrate how asymmetric molecular pure rotational spectra may be analyzed “pictorially” and with simple formulae. It is shown that the interpretation of such spectra relies heavily upon pattern recognition. The presentation of some common spectral line positions in near-prolate asymmetric rotational spectra provides a means by which spectral assignment, and approximate rotational constant determination, may be usefully explored. To aid in this endeavor we have created a supporting, free, web page and mobile web page.

Abstract The rotational spectra of the two abundant isomers of monothioformic acid, cis- and trans- HC(:O)SH, have been assigned in the frequency region 8 -250 GHz. Over 90 a-type transitions and over 60 b-type transitions have been measured for each rotamer. The a-type transitions belong to the qRK , qQ1, qQ2, qQ3 and qQ4 branches and the b-type absorption lines encompass the Ka = 1 - 0, 2 - 1, 3 - 2, 4 - 3 and 5 - 4 rotational sub-bands. The rotational constants and all quartic and sextic centrifugal distortion constants have been determined for each rotamer using Watson's reduced Hamiltonian. In addition to the measured line positions the frequencies of some selected low-J transitions, not observed in this work but of potential astrophysical interest, have been listed as an aid in the interstellar search for monothioformic acid.

Abstract The rotational spectra of GeS and GeSe were measured in the frequency range of 66 GHz to 110 GHz with high precision. The breakdown of the Born-Oppenheimer approximation was observed for the rotational constant yol. With the known molecular 37-factor and the electric dipole moment the adiabatic part of the Born-Oppenheimer correction can be extracted from the primary observa-tion on y01. The adiabatic correction is very similar in both molecules but differs from the results in the earlier measurements on PbS.

Due to advances in mobile phones, mobile Web browsing has become increasingly popular. In this regard, small screens and poor input capabilities of mobile phones prevent users from comfortably browsing Web pages that are designed for desktop PCs. One of the serious problems of mobile Web browsing is that users often get lost in a Web page and can only view a small portion of a Web page at a time, not able to grasp the entire page’s structure to decide which direction their information of interest is located. To solve this problem, an effective technique is to present an overview of the page. Although prior studies adopted the conventional style of overview, that is, a scaled-down image of the page, this is not sufficient because users cannot see details of the contents. Therefore, in this paper, the authors present annotations on a Web page that provides a functionality which automatically scrolls the page. Results of a user experiment show that annotations are informative for users who want to find contents from a large Web page.


Nowadays the usage of mobile phones is widely spread in our lifestyle; we use cell phones as a camera, a radio, a music player, and even as a web browser. Since most web pages are created for desktop computers, navigating through web pages is highly fatigued. Hence, there is a great interest in computer science to adopt such pages with rich content into small screens of our mobile devices. On the other hand, every web page has got many different parts that do not have the equal importance to the end user. Consequently, the authors propose a mechanism to identify the most useful part of a web page to a user regarding his or her search query while the information loss is avoided. The challenge here comes from the fact that long web contents cannot be easily displayed in both vertical and horizontal ways.

Segregating the web page content into logical chunks is one of the popular techniques for modular organization of web page. While chunk-based approach works well for public web scenarios, in case of mobile-first personalization cases, chunking strategy would not be as effective for performance optimization due to dynamic nature of the Web content and due to the nature of content granularity. In this paper, the authors propose a novel framework Micro chunk based Web Delivery Framework which proposes and uses a novel concept of “micro chunk”. The micro chunk based Web Delivery framework aims to address the performance challenges posed by regular chunk in a personalized web scenario. The authors will look at the methods for creating micro chunk and they will discuss the advantages of micro chunk when compared to a regular chunk for a personalized mobile web scenario. They have created a prototype application implementing the Micro chunk based Web Delivery Framework and benchmarked it against a regular personalized web application to quantify the performance improvements achieved by micro chunk design.

Pure rotational spectra of an atmospheric photo-oxidation product, o-toluic acid, and its monohydrate were measured, and the minimum energy conformers of both species were identified.
