We study sectional curvature, Ricci tensor, and scalar curvature of submanifolds of generalized -space forms. Then we give an upper bound for foliate -horizontal (and vertical) CR-submanifold of a generalized -space form and an upper bound for minimal -horizontal (and vertical) CR-submanifold of a generalized -space form. Finally, we give the same results for special cases of generalized -space forms such as -space forms, generalized Sasakian space forms, Sasakian space forms, Kenmotsu space forms, cosymplectic space forms, and almost -manifolds.

For submanifolds tangent to the structure vector field in cosymplectic space forms, we establish a basic inequality between the main intrinsic invariants of the submanifold, namely, its sectional curvature and scalar curvature on one side; and its main extrinsic invariant, namely, squared mean curvature on the other side. Some applications, including inequalities between the intrinsic invariantδMand the squared mean curvature, are given. The equality cases are also discussed.

AbstractRecently, Chen established a sharp relationship between the Ricci curvature and the squared mean curvature for a submanifold in a Riemannian space form with arbitrary codimension. Afterwards, we dealt with similar problems for submanifolds in complex space forms. In the present paper, we obtain sharp inequalities between the Ricci curvature and the squared mean curvature for submanifolds in Sasakian space forms. Also, estimates of the scalar curvature and the k-Ricci curvature respectively, in terms of the squared mean curvature, are proved.

The present paper deals the study of generalised Sasakian-space-forms with the conditions Cq(ξ,X).S = 0, Cq(ξ,X).R = 0 and Cq(ξ,X).Cq = 0, where R, S and Cq denote Riemannian curvature tensor, Ricci tensor and quasi-conformal curvature tensor of the space-form, respectively and at last, we have given some examples to improve our results.

SynopsisSuppose that a space form is immersed into another Riemannian manifold as a totally umbilical hypersurface with constant mean curvature. Then, in the ambient manifold, the lengthof the curvature tensor, that of the Ricci tensor and the scalar curvature must satisfy an inequality. In this paper the authors proved the inequality. As applications of the inequality, some immersibility problems are investigated. For example, it is proved that if a space form is immersed in an Einstein manifold as a totally umbilical hypersurface, then the Einstein manifold has constant sectional curvature along the hypersurface. Moreover, it is proved that a space form cannot be immersed into some Kaehlerian manifolds as a totally umbilical hypersurface with constant mean curvature.

(Bejancu [1,2]) The purpose of this paper is to continue the study ofCR-submanifolds, and in particular of those of a locally conformal Kaehler space form (Matsumoto [3]). Some results on the holomorphic sectional curvature,D-totally geodesic,D1-totally geodesic andD1-minimalCR-submanifolds of locally conformal Kaehler (1.c.k.)-space fromM¯(c)are obtained. We have also discussed Ricci curvature as well as scalar curvature ofCR-submanifolds ofM¯(c).

We study lightlike hypersurfacesMof an indefinite generalized Sasakian space formM-(f1,f2,f3), with indefinite trans-Sasakian structure of type(α,β), subject to the condition that the structure vector field ofM-is tangent toM. First we study the general theory for lightlike hypersurfaces of indefinite trans-Sasakian manifold of type(α,β). Next we prove several characterization theorems for lightlike hypersurfaces of an indefinite generalized Sasakian space form.

In this work, we first derive a generalized Wintgen type inequality for a Lagrangian submanifold in a generalized complex space form. Further, we extend this inequality to the case of bi-slant submanifolds in generalized complex and generalized Sasakian space forms and derive some applications in various slant cases. Finally, we obtain obstructions to the existence of non-flat generalized complex space forms and non-flat generalized Sasakian space forms in terms of dimension of the vector space of solutions to the first fundamental equation on such spaces.

AbstractFor a contact manifold, we study a strongly pseudo-convex CR space form with constant holomorphic sectional curvature for the Tanaka-Webster connection. We prove that a strongly pseudo-convex CR space form M is weakly locally pseudo-Hermitian symmetric if and only if (i) dim M = 3, (ii) M is a Sasakian space form, or (iii) M is locally isometric to the unit tangent sphere bundle T1(𝔿n+1) of a hyperbolic space 𝔿n+1 of constant curvature −1.

The paper deals with the study of Casorati curvature of submanifolds of generalized [Formula: see text]-space-form with respect to Levi-Civita connection as well as semisymmetric metric connection and derived two optimal inequalities between scalar curvature and Casorati curvature of such space forms. The equality cases are also considered.

It is well known that a Sasakian space form is pseudo-symmetric [M. Belkhelfa, R. Deszcz and L. Verstraelen, Symmetry properties of Sasakian space-forms, Soochow J. Math. 31(4) (2005) 611–616], therefore it is Ricci-pseudo-symmetric. In this paper, we proved that a normal complex contact manifold is Ricci-semi-symmetric if and only if it is an Einstein manifold; moreover, we showed that a complex contact space form [Formula: see text] with constant [Formula: see text]-sectional curvature [Formula: see text] is properly Ricci-pseudo-symmetric [Formula: see text] if and only if [Formula: see text]; in this case [Formula: see text]. We gave an example of properly Ricci-pseudo-symmetric complex contact space form. On the other hand, we proved the non-existence of proper pseudo-symmetric ([Formula: see text]) complex contact space form [Formula: see text]
