LetIbe an open interval. We describe the general structure of groups of continuous self functions onIwhich are disjoint, that is, the graphs of any two distinct elements of them do not intersect. Initially the class of all disjoint groups of continuous functions is divided in three subclasses: cyclic groups, groups the limit points of their orbits are Cantor-like sets, and finally those the limit points of their orbits are the whole intervalI. We will show that (1) each group of the second type is conjugate, via a specific homeomorphism, to a piecewise linear group of the same type; (2) each group of the third type is a subgroup of a continuous disjoint iteration group. We conclude the Zdun's result on the structure of disjoint iteration groups of continuous functions as special case of our results.

The paper studies the function space of continuous piecewise linear functions in the space of continuous functions on them-dimensional Euclidean space. It also studies the special case of one dimensional continuous piecewise linear functions. The study is based on the theory of Riesz spaces that has many applications in economics. The work also provides the mathematical background to its sister paper Aliprantis, Harris, and Tourky (2006), in which we estimate multivariate continuous piecewise linear regressions by means of Riesz estimators, that is, by estimators of the the Boolean formwhereX=(X1,X2, …,Xm) is some random vector, {Ej}j∈Jis a finite family of finite sets.

AbstractThe main goal of the Dictionnaire etymologique et historique des regionalismes de l’immobilier (Etymological and Historical Dictionary of Regionalisms of Real Estate) is to study regionalisms of French in a thematic perspective. Its first volume, currently in preparation, is dedicated to belgicisms and luxembourgisms. This article first presents the book in general: the broad way “real estate” has to be understood, its purpose and its intended audience. The second part of the article focuses more specifically on its general structure, the third, on its macrostructure and the fourth one on its microstructure. It concludes with some examples of articles: acte (sur terrain), additionnel, arvau, egaline, ressabler.

As the contributions to this two-part special issue demonstrate, Spanish and Latin American criminal theory has attained a remarkable degree of sophistication. Regrettably, Anglo-American scholars have had limited access to this rich body of literature. With this volume, the New Criminal Law Review has taken a very important first step toward rectifying this situation. Although the articles written for this special issue cover a vast range of subjects, they can be divided into four main categories: (1) the legitimacy of the criminal sanction, (2) the punishability of omissions, (3) the challenges that international criminal law and the fight against terrorism pose to criminal theory, and (4) the theory of justification and excuse. The articles pertaining to the first two categories will appear in the first half of this special issue (Volume 11, Number 3) and the pieces belonging to the third and fourth categories will be published in the upcoming second half (Volume 11, Number 4). In accordance with this general structure, in the pages that follow I will provide a brief summary and critique of the pieces contained in both parts.

In this paper, we prove the existence of a chaotic saddle for a piecewise-linear map of the plane, referred to as the Lozi map. We study the Lozi map in its orientation and area preserving version. First, we consider the autonomous version of the Lozi map to which we apply the Conley–Moser conditions to obtain the proof of a chaotic saddle. Then we generalize the Lozi map on a nonautonomous version and we prove that the first and the third Conley–Moser conditions are satisfied, which imply the existence of a chaotic saddle. Finally, we numerically demonstrate how the structure of this nonautonomous chaotic saddle varies as parameters are varied.

AbstractSteady plane flow under gravity of an axisymmetric ice sheet resting on a horizontal rigid bed, subject to surface accumulation and ablation, basal drainage, and basal sliding is treated according to a power law between shear traction and velocity. The surface accumulation is taken to depend on height, and the drainage and sliding coefficient also depend on the height of overlying ice. The ice is described as a general non-linearly viscous incompressible fluid, and temperature variation through the ice sheet is neglected. Illustrations are presented for Glen’s power law (including the special case of a Newtonian fluid), and the polynomial law of Colbeck and Evans. The analysis follows that of Morland and Johnson (1980) where the analogous problem for an ice sheet deforming under plane flow was considered. Comparisons are made between the two models and it is found that the effect of the third dimension is to reduce (or leave unchanged) the aspect ratio for the cases considered, although no general formula can be obtained. This reduction is seen to depend on both the surface accumulation and the sliding law.

Stroke or cerbreovascular accidents are the leading cause of morbidity and mortality across the world.Infact the third leading cause after heart diseases and cancer.Strokes can be classied broadly as ischemic and hemorrhagic which accounts for 80% and 20% of the total cases.The prognosis of CVA depends on the type and its fast and appropriate management.A 50 year old male patient who is k/c/o type 2 diabetes mellitus,hypertension and hypercholistremia was admitted to the inpatient department of Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Ayurveda College and Hospital,Chennai on 20.01.2020 with the conrmed diagnosis of stroke(CVA) having both infarct and hemorrhage.The chief complaints were difculty in walking without support,reduced strength, stiffness and heaviness in the right hand and leg, difculty in speech, pain in right shoulder joint and knee joint since 4 months.This condition can be understood as Pakshaghata in Ayurveda.After proper evaluation of the avastha of the patient,Avarana chikitsa along with the Pakshaghata chikitsa was adopted in this case,Signicant improvements were observed on various subjective and objective parameters.The patient was discharged after 10 days of treatment with oral medications and advised for a follow up after 1 month.

The loglinear model is a special case of a general linear model for poissondistributed data. The loglinear model is also a number of models in statistics that are used todetermine dependencies between several variables on a categorical scale. The number ofvariables discussed in this study were three variables. After the variables are investigated,the formation of the loglinear model becomes important because not all the modelinteraction factors that exist in the complete model become significant in the resultingmodel. The formation of the loglinear model in this study uses the Backward Hierarchicalmethod. This research makes loglinear modeling to get the model using the HierarchicalBackward method to choose a good method in making models with existing examples.From the challenging examples that have been done, it is known that the HierarchicalReverse method can model the third iteration or scroll. Then, also use better assessmentmethods about faster workmanship and computer-sponsored assessments that are used moreefficiently through compatibility testing for each model made
