An integrable 2-component Camassa-Holm (2-CH) shallow water system is studied by using integral bifurcation method together with a translation-dilation transformation. Many traveling wave solutions of nonsingular type and singular type, such as solitary wave solutions, kink wave solutions, loop soliton solutions, compacton solutions, smooth periodic wave solutions, periodic kink wave solution, singular wave solution, and singular periodic wave solution are obtained. Further more, their dynamic behaviors are investigated. It is found that the waveforms of some traveling wave solutions vary with the changes of parameter, that is to say, the dynamic behavior of these waves partly depends on the relation of the amplitude of wave and the level of water.

We investigate the traveling wave solutions and their bifurcations for the BBM-likeB(m,n)equationsut+αux+β(um)x−γ(un)xxt=0by using bifurcation method and numerical simulation approach of dynamical systems. Firstly, for BBM-likeB(3,2)equation, we obtain some precise expressions of traveling wave solutions, which include periodic blow-up and periodic wave solution, peakon and periodic peakon wave solution, and solitary wave and blow-up solution. Furthermore, we reveal the relationships among these solutions theoretically. Secondly, for BBM-likeB(4,2)equation, we construct two periodic wave solutions and two blow-up solutions. In order to confirm the correctness of these solutions, we also check them by software Mathematica.

For the Maccari's equations, the objective of this paper is to investigate the dynamical behavior of its traveling wave solutions by using the bifurcation method and qualitative theory of dynamical systems. All exact explicit parametric respresentations of solitary wave, kink (anti-kink) wave and periodic wave solutions are obtained under given parameter conditions, and the dynamics characters of these solutions are also analyzed.

For a singular nonlinear traveling wave system of the first class, if there exist two node points of the associated regular system in the singular straight line, then the dynamics of the solutions of the singular system will be very complex. In this paper, two representative nonlinear traveling wave system models (namely, the traveling wave system of Green–Naghdi equations and the traveling wave system of the Raman soliton model for optical metamaterials) are investigated. It is shown that, if there exist two node points of the associated regular system in the singular straight line, then the singular system has no peakon, periodic peakon and compacton solutions, but rather, it has smooth periodic wave, solitary wave and kink wave solutions.

In this paper, we apply the method of dynamical systems to a generalized two-component Camassa–Holm system. Through analysis, we obtain solitary wave solutions, kink and anti-kink wave solutions, cusp wave solutions, breaking wave solutions, and smooth and nonsmooth periodic wave solutions. To guarantee the existence of these solutions, we give constraint conditions among the parameters associated with the generalized Camassa–Holm system. Choosing some special parameters, we obtain exact parametric representations of the traveling wave solutions.

The generalized HD type equation is studied by using the bifurcation method of dynamical systems. From a dynamic point of view, the existence of different kinds of traveling waves which include periodic loop soliton, periodic cusp wave, smooth periodic wave, loop soliton, cuspon, smooth solitary wave, and kink-like wave is proved and the sufficient conditions to guarantee the existence of the above solutions in different regions of the parametric space are given. Also, all possible exact parametric representations of the bounded waves are presented and their relations are stated.

We use the bifurcation method of dynamical systems to study the traveling wave solutions for the generalized Zakharov equations. A number of traveling wave solutions are obtained. Those solutions contain explicit periodic wave solutions, periodic blow-up wave solutions, unbounded wave solutions, kink profile solitary wave solutions, and solitary wave solutions. Relations of the traveling wave solutions are given. Some previous results are extended.

This paper studies the dynamics of traveling wave solutions to a shallow water wave model with a large-amplitude regime in phase space. The corresponding traveling wave system is a singular planar dynamical system with two singular straight lines. By using the method of dynamical systems, bifurcation diagrams are obtained. The existence of solitary wave solutions, periodic wave solutions, peakon, pseudo-peakon solution, periodic peakon solutions and compacton solutions are determined under different parameter conditions.

By using the method of dynamical systems, we continuously study the dynamical behavior for the first class of singular nonlinear traveling wave systems. As an example, the traveling wave solutions for a generalized coupled KdV equations are discussed. Exact explicit parametric representations of solitary wave solutions, periodic wave solutions and kink wave solutions are given.

We use bifurcation method of dynamical systems to study exact traveling wave solutions of a nonlinear evolution equation. We obtain exact explicit expressions of bell-shaped solitary wave solutions involving more free parameters, and some existing results are corrected and improved. Also, we get some new exact periodic wave solutions in parameter forms of the Jacobian elliptic function. Further, we find that the bell-shaped waves are limits of the periodic waves in some sense. The results imply that we can deduce bell-shaped waves from periodic waves for some nonlinear evolution equations.

Using bifurcation method and numerical simulation approach of dynamical systems, we study a two-component Fornberg-Whitham equation. Two types of bounded traveling wave solutions are found, that is, the kink-like wave and compacton-like wave solutions. The planar graphs of these solutions are simulated by using software Mathematica; meanwhile, two new phenomena are revealed; that is, the periodic wave solution can become the kink-like wave or compacton-like wave solution under some conditions, respectively. Exact implicit or parameter expressions of these solutions are given.
