This work is devoted to the study of uniqueness and existence of positive solutions for a second-order boundary value problem with integral condition. The arguments are based on Banach contraction principle, Leray Schauder nonlinear alternative, and Guo-Krasnosel’skii fixed point theorem in cone. Two examples are also given to illustrate the main results.

A fractional boundary value problem is considered. By means of Banach contraction principle, Leray-Schauder nonlinear alternative, properties of the Green function, and Guo-Krasnosel'skii fixed point theorem on cone, some results on the existence, uniqueness, and positivity of solutions are obtained.

In this paper, we consider the second-order differential equations of the form [Formula: see text] satisfying the Sturm–Liouville boundary conditions [Formula: see text] where [Formula: see text]. By an application of Avery–Henderson fixed point theorem, we establish conditions for the existence of multiple positive solutions to the boundary value problem.

We are concerned with the following nonlinear three-point fractional boundary value problem:D0+αut+λatft,ut=0,0<t<1,u0=0, andu1=βuη, where1<α≤2,0<β<1,0<η<1,D0+αis the standard Riemann-Liouville fractional derivative,at>0is continuous for0≤t≤1, andf≥0is continuous on0,1×0,∞. By using Krasnoesel'skii's fixed-point theorem and the corresponding Green function, we obtain some results for the existence of positive solutions. At the end of this paper, we give an example to illustrate our main results.

AbstractThe aim of this paper is to introduce a new class of mixed contractions which allow to revise and generalize some results obtained in [6] by R. Gubran, W. M. Alfaqih and M. Imdad. We also provide an example corresponding to this class of mappings and show how the new fixed point result relates to the above-mentioned result in [6]. Further, we present an application to the solvability of a two-point boundary value problem for second order differential equations.

A class of boundary value problem for fractional functional differential equation with delay $ \left\{ {\begin{array}{*{20}c} {^{C} D^{\sigma } \omega (t) = f(t,\omega _{t} ),t \in [0,\zeta ],} \\ {\omega (0) = 0,\,\omega ^{\prime}(0) = 0,\,\omega ^{\prime\prime}(\zeta ) = 1,} \\ \end{array} } \right. $ is studied, where $ 2 < \sigma \le 3,\,\,^{c} D^{\sigma } $ devote standard Caputo fractional derivative. In this article, three new criteria on existence and uniqueness of solution are obtained by Banach contraction mapping principle, Schauder fixed point theorem and nonlinear alternative theorem.

We discuss the existence of positive solutions of a boundary value problem of nonlinear fractional differential equation with changing sign nonlinearity. We first derive some properties of the associated Green function and then obtain some results on the existence of positive solutions by means of the Krasnoselskii's fixed point theorem in a cone.

In this paper, we develop criteria for the existence of multiple positive solutions for second order Sturm-Liouville boundary value problem, u 00 + k 2u + f(t, u) = 0, 0 ≤ t ≤ 1, au(0) − bu0 (0) = 0 and cu(1) + du0 (1) = 0, where k ∈ 0, π 2 is a constant, by an application of Avery–Henderson fixed point theorem.
