A class of three-dimensional Gause-type predator-prey model with delay is considered. Firstly, a group of sufficient conditions for the existence of Hopf bifurcation is obtained via employing the polynomial theorem by analyzing the distribution of the roots of the associated characteristic equation. Secondly, the direction of the Hopf bifurcation and the stability of the bifurcated periodic solutions are determined by applying the normal form method and the center manifold theorem. Finally, some numerical simulations are carried out to illustrate the obtained results.

In this paper, we analyze the dynamics of a delayed food chain system with harvesting. Sufficient conditions for the local stability of the positive equilibrium and for the existence of Hopf bifurcation are obtained by analyzing the associated characteristic equation. Formulas for determining the direction of Hopf bifurcation and the stability of the bifurcating periodic solutions are derived by applying the normal form method and center manifold theorem. Finally, numerical simulation results are presented to validate the theoretical analysis.

In this paper, a finance system with delay is considered. By analyzing the corresponding characteristic equations, the local stability of equilibrium is established. The existence of Hopf bifurcations at the equilibrium is also discussed. Furthermore, formulas for determining the direction of Hopf bifurcation and the stability of the bifurcating periodic solutions are derived by applying the normal form method and center manifold theorem. Finally, numerical simulation results are presented to validate the theoretical analysis. Numerical simulation results show that delay can lead a stable system into a chaotic state.

This paper is concerned with the Hopf bifurcation of a synthetic drug transmission model with two delays. Firstly, some sufficient conditions of delay-induced bifurcation for such a model are captured by using different combinations of the two delays as the bifurcation parameter. Secondly, based on the center manifold theorem and normal form theory, some sufficient conditions determining properties of the Hopf bifurcation such as the direction and the stability are established. Finally, to underline the effectiveness of the obtained results, some numerical simulations are ultimately addressed.

A kind of delayed predator-prey system with harvesting is considered in this paper. The influence of harvesting and delay is investigated. Our results show that Hopf bifurcations occur as the delayτpasses through critical values. By using of normal form theory and center manifold theorem, the direction of Hopf bifurcation and the stability of the bifurcating periodic solutions are obtained. Finally, numerical simulations are given to support our theoretical predictions.

We consider a predator-prey system with Michaelis-Menten type functional response and two delays. We focus on the case with two unequal and non-zero delays present in the model, study the local stability of the equilibria and the existence of Hopf bifurcation, and then obtain explicit formulas to determine the properties of Hopf bifurcation by using the normal form method and center manifold theorem. Special attention is paid to the global continuation of local Hopf bifurcation when the delaysτ1≠τ2.

A logistic equation with piecewise constant arguments is investigated. Firstly, the linear stability of the model is studied. It is found that there exists a Hopf bifurcation when the parameter passes a critical value. Then the explicit algorithm for determining the direction of the Hopf bifurcation and the stability of the bifurcating periodic solution is derived by using the normal form method and center manifold theorem. Finally, computer simulations are performed to illustrate the analytical results found.

This paper is concerned with a Holling type III predator-prey system with stage structure for the prey population and two time delays. The main result is given in terms of local stability and bifurcation. By choosing the time delay as a bifurcation parameter, sufficient conditions for the local stability of the positive equilibrium and the existence of periodic solutions via Hopf bifurcation with respect to both delays are obtained. In particular, explicit formulas that can determine the direction of the Hopf bifurcation and the stability of the bifurcating periodic solutions are established by using the normal form method and center manifold theorem. Finally, numerical simulations supporting the theoretical analysis are also included.

Abstract In this paper, we study a delayed diffusive predator-prey model with nonlocal competition in prey and habitat complexity. The local stability of coexisting equilibrium are studied by analyzing the eigenvalue spectrum. Time delay inducing Hopf bifurcation is investigated by using time delay as bifurcation parameter. We give some conditions for determining the bifurcation direction and the stability of the bifurcating periodic solution by utilizing the normal form method and center manifold theorem. Our results suggest that only nonlocal competition and diffusion together can induce stably spatial inhomogeneous bifurcating periodic solutions.

The dynamics of a system of two semiconductor lasers, which are delay coupled via a passive relay within the synchronization manifold, are investigated. Depending on the coupling parameters, the system exhibits synchronized Hopf bifurcation and the stability switches as the delay varies. Employing the center manifold theorem and normal form method, an algorithm is derived for determining the Hopf bifurcation properties. Some numerical simulations are carried out to illustrate the analysis results.

We consider a two predator and one prey model with Holling type II functional response incorporating a constant prey refuge. Depending upon the constant prey refuge m, which provides a criterion for protecting m of prey from predation, sufficient conditions for stability and global stability of equilibria are obtained. We find the critical value of this refuge parameter m for which the dynamical system undergoes a Hopf bifurcation and then makes use of center manifold theorem and normal form methods to find the direction of the Hopf bifurcation as well as the stability of the resulting limit cycle. The influence of the prey refuge parameter is also investigated at the interior equilibrium. Numerical simulations were carried out to illustrate and support the analytical results.
