Sufficient conditions for the existence of a common fixed point of generalized -weakly contractive noncommuting mappings are derived. As applications, some results on the set of best approximation for this class of mappings are obtained. The proved results generalize and extend various known results in the literature.

We prove a common fixed point result for $(f,g)$-nonexpansive maps and then derive certain results on best approximation. Our results generalize the results of Al-Thagafi [1], Jungck and Sessa [6], Khan, Hussain and Thaheem [8], Latif [9, 10] and Sahab, Khan and Sessa [12].

We obtain a common fixed point theorem for $ (f,g) $-nonexpansive maps in $ p $-normed spaces. Some results on best approximation are also derived via common fixed points. Our results generalize and extend the work of Al-Thaghafi [J. Approx. Theory 85 (1996), 318-323], Khan and Khan [Approx. Theory & its Appl., 11 (1995), 1-5], Habiniak [J. Approx. Theory, 56 (1989), 241-244], Sahab, Khan and Sessa [J. Approx. Theory, 55 (1988), 349-351], and many of the others.

We define a new property which contains the property (EA) for a hybrid pair of single- and multivalued maps and give some new common fixed point theorems under hybrid contractive conditions. Our results extend previous ones. As an application, we give a partial answer to the problem raised by Singh and Mishra.

We establish common fixed points theorems for two self-mappings satisfying a nonlinear contractive condition of Ćirić type with aQ-function. Furthermore, using the scalarization method, we deduce some results of common fixed point in tvs-cone metric spaces with ac-distance. As application, we give a positive answer to the question of Ćirić et al. posed in 2012. Our results extend and generalize many recent results.

A common fixed point theorem of S.L. and S.P. Singh is generalized by weakening commutativity hypotheses and by increasing the number of functions involved.

The aim of this paper is to present common fixed point results of quasi-weak commutative mappings on a closed ball in the framework of multiplicative metric spaces. Example is presented to support the result proved herein. We also study sufficient conditions for the existence of a common solution of multiplicative boundary value problem. Our results extend and improve various recent results in the existing literature.

In this paper it is shown that a particular iteration scheme converges weakly to a common fixed point of a finite set of nonexpansive mappings. This result is an improvement of two related theorems in the literature.

Coincidence and common fixed point theorems for certain new classes of nearly densifying mappings are established. Our results extend, improve, and unify a lot of previously known theorems.

AbstractIn this paper, we give some common fixed point theorems for a class of occasionally weakly compatible mappings satisfying contractive conditions of integral type. Our results generalize a host of previously theorems. We also present some illustrative examples which support our main results and show the applicability and validity of these results.
