The physical interaction between 2 substances frequently occurs along the mixing and manufacturing of solid drug dosage forms. The physical interaction is generally based on coarrangement of crystal lattice of drug combination. The cold contact method has been developed as a simple technique to detect physical interaction between 2 drugs. This method is performed by observing new habits of cocrystal that appear on contact area of crystallization by polarization microscope and characterize this cocrystal behavior by melting point determination. Has been evaluated by DSC, this method is proved suitable to identify eutecticum interaction of pseudoephedrine HCl-acetaminophen, peritecticum interaction of methampyrone-phenylbutazon, and solid solution interaction of amoxicillin-clavulanate, respectively.

OBJECTIVE: This study aimed at investigating the significance of the skin-to-skin contact method with fathers, looking at their own experiences with their newborns. METHODS: The information was collected through in-depth interviews with 14 fathers who had used the skin-to-skin contact method with their newborns, after a cesarean delivery. The technique utilized for data analysis was the qualitative method of content analysis. RESULTS: Four principal themes emerged from the data: the preparation for the skin-to-skin method, the experiences of the fathers, the father's role, and effects of the method on the baby. CONCLUSIONS: The investigations performed highlighted the importance of the involvement of health professionals in the use of this method, which leads to a series of positive results for the organization related to satisfaction. We conclude that the skin-to-skin method is a simple technique, recommended for positive results for fathers and their babies.

The derivatives of 3-ferrocenyl isocoumarin were synthesized by the condensation of substituted homothphalic anhydride with ferrocene using phosphoric acid or anhydrous aluminium chloride as cyclising agent. Substituted homophthalic acid did not condense with ferrocene so homophthalic acids were converted into their anhydride and then allowed to react with ferrocene in the presence of polyphosphoric acid or in the presence of anhydrous aluminium chloride using dichloromethane as the solvent to give 3-ferrocenyl isocoumarins. 7-Methoxy, 6-methyl, 5,7-dihydroxy, 6,7-dimethoxy and 5,7-dimethoxy derivatives of 3-ferrocenyl isocoumarin were synthesized. All the compounds were characterised by melting point determination, elemental and spectral analysis.
